    Honestly it is almost a perfect example of how to do a collab. Remixed the song in a way that updated it for them by highlighted the style of AG. There is a weird amount of metalheads who are fans of them, myself included

    I just saw Atarashii Gakko in Chicago a few days ago. They played this video before the show started, much louder than my home stereo. Was strange going to a show with no instruments being played as an old metalhead. Was a great show and the crowd was LOUD! Pineapple Kryptonite and Suki Lie are fun songs.

    This is an EPIC collaboration between the legendary MtH & my favorite free spirited ATARASHII GAKKO!!!
    One thing for sure, these four unique and very talented ladies are never afraid to try new things. They're experimental, versatile and do not let themselves be boxed in one genre only. This is one major reason why I admire them so much. Kudos MtH & AG! 💥🔥🤘

    J-Mello on the Japanese channel NHK World did Nemophila and Atarashii Gakko on same episode. It was cool to see AG head banging to Nemo. And, Saki mentioned she liked watching the recent concert AG did previously to the interview.

    This collab was absolutely fire. Shimi was already a fav, but AG added an extra layer. The imagery in this was phenomenal. Grungy, post apocalyptic, industrial, crows flying, traditional Japanese culture, even some Japanese horror movie elements (The Ring or The Grudge come to mind). The beating heart under theur blouses in Kanon's solo was fantastic.

      Tokyo Calling was the very first AG song I heard, and I was totally blown away. Apart from its overall ominous vibe, I really dig the song's mesaage of trying to break free from the stupor of city life. Best of all, I love how it's a nod to London Calling by The Clash which has a similar lyrical and musical theme.

    You know about MTH so I'll concentrate on AG! and you said their name pretty much spot on.
    Atarashii Gakko are the four women in the school/sailor uniforms. Their name means "New School" and they are a song and dance group who are becoming quite popular. Their original name was "Atarashii Gakko no Leaders" which means "Leaders of the New School" but they have dropped the "no Leaders" part to avoid confusion outside of Japan. AG! formed back in 2015 and are managed by Asobisystem and 88Rising. Mizyu (two hair bunches and shown "playing" the shamisen) had already worked with Asobisystem as a backup dancer with Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and Suzuka, Kanon and Rin joined her. Mizyu is three years older than the others and so was sometimes called the leader by journalists, and the others still look to her in some circumstances, but Suzuka's extrovert personality and strong voice make her the obvious front woman - she's the tallest and has the first solo in the video. Still, AG! are always quick to say that they have no leader. They are all trained dancers and do all of the choreography themselves and work with various producers on the songs including H ZettM, Money Mark and Yonkey. Their artistic input sets them apart from most J-pop and K-pop idol type groups and their stage shows are performed with a unique joy and flair. They set out to subvert many of the conventions of idol groups so they are often described as alternative idol or idol adjacent. They just released a new album called "AG! Calling" and are on the second half of their first World Tour.
    AG!'s music is all over the place, but their style is always entertaining and fun and for an intro to them have a look for "Atarashi Gakko, Otona Blue, The First Take". Make sure you turn on the English subtitles. The music is not metal, but the performance can be appreciated by everyone.

    Great reaction! Atarashii Gakko no Leaders (the full name of the group) translates to "Leaders of the New School". Theyre a singing and dance group who do their own choreography. They conbine many different genres, and even tho they dont do metal, their attitude certainly is very metal. Theyre intense, energetic, and confident, never afraid to seem silly or too intense.
    If you'd like to check them out, id recommend starting with their song Otonablue, the First Take version

    The second song in the "ad", after Shimi, was "ChuChu Lovely MuniMuni MuraMura PurinPurin Boron Nururu ReroRero" feat ano. There's no music video for it (yet) and I don't know if they released the single on any platform. MTH still don't have a lot of their catalogue on Spotify or YT, so it's never a given with Warner Music Japan, who absolutely still live in the early 2000s, as seen by the frequent copyright strikes and blocks on every video if you're not careful. I don't know if you already did, but ano is also worth checking out. She has a lot of rock-y stuff, even though most of it is more in the JPop range of music. But she herself is absolutely punk and anti-conformism. You could check out "ZeZeZeZettai Seiiki" from the First Take, feat Lilas Ikuta from YOASOBI and written by TK (you know, he wrote Unravel) or the MV of 普変 (Fuhen) but you should turn on CCs for that one because the lyrics are great as well.

    They are striking channels for reacting to this one (there have been multiple reactors with strikes), I would be very careful. Maybe just ignore MTH stuff, they hate reactors and are very similar to what Metallica used to do with pirating software and such. I think they see reacting and youtube as the same thing.

      @@billb.5183 Yeah, I just know that Warner Music Japan still lives in the early 2000s with a lot of their artists, so it wouldn't surprise me. Also a lot of blocks and strikes come from labels/agencies, even though some of the artists even enjoy seeing reactions to their songs. But, as you said, it could be either way and either way it's pretty dangerous with MTH.

    • @MaartenT
      @MaartenT 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@ANDOR- Party Like A Rockstar got an email from the RIAJ, which is representing basically all Japanese record labels, but you would think all Japanese reactions would get strikes if it's on the request of the band (or I guess the label). Also with the past stuff with Baka's Broadcast's old channel getting killed by strikes by MTH years ago and now getting emails from an address that is linked to MTH (check the Ears To The East discussion "Maximally Moronic ...how to alienate online communities with copyright strikes"), I would say MTH has more to do with it that you would think. Especially since they have always been extremely harsh against copyright stuff (including their track A.L.I.E.N.) and just having a similar stance to Metallica back in the day. Yes, Warner Japan is a pain to deal with from what I have heard, so it might be them, but it's strange to me that it happens so often with MTH tracks. Edit: Btw, I was contemplating getting the physical release for a while, but this whole thing makes it so I don't want to get any of their stuff any more. So whoever did it, they at least lost one sale, probably a bunch of them depending on how long they will keep going.

    • @ANDOR-
      @ANDOR- 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@MaartenT I've heard that thing with RIAJ before somewhere. I have no idea how they work, but I agree that it's probably by request, otherwise nobody would be able to react to any Japanese artist. It wouldn't surprise me either way because Warner Music Japan and MTH are pretty much anti-streaming and globalization in general it seems. As long as they can live in their early 2000s world and sell CDs in Japan, they're happy. It is (was) the same with BiSH and WACK, they're super quick to hand out blocks and strikes as well. If you don't have a single video with English subs on your official channels (for all groups) and even block merch sales for people outside of Japan, even though their overseas fanbase wasn't small by any means, then you probably don't give a shit about western fans or want to even shoo them away. It's the same with MTH, I was stunned to see Shimi actually had English subs, maybe it was by request from AG, who knows.
