It is a very clean airframe, but it wasn’t complete, so we ended up just using it for parts. I’m more a fan of the opera third window, but if someone wanted to build a more modern looking B35, this fuselage would be a great candidate.
Came cross your channel yesterday and now new subscriber. I am A/P IA and a pilot from San Antonio Texas coming on a project with 47 model bonanza my self soon. Thanks for these videos
Welcome to the channel! The early model Bonanzas (actually all Bonanzas) are fantastic airplanes. You won’t regret getting involved with them. Thanks for the sub and I appreciate you saying hi! 👍
Ben, loved the walk through your hangar, I could almost smell the old oil and gas. Good show. Having tip tanks, or maybe an instrument panel in your bedroom also shows determination.
Yeah I keep saying everything “might” be for sale because the second my brother finds out something is desirable, he suddenly doesn’t want to sell it anymore. 😂
I was not directly involved in the process of installing the speed slope, so I’m not sure the difficulty. I think it took about a half day of labor without being in any hurry.
@@BenWeeksBonanzaPilot I was wanting my v-tail done but don’t know really what it would cost or who I could get was hoping y’all did it for extra money
Beechtalk forum could probably point you in the right direction. Not sure what it would cost if buying straight from D’Shannon, but I would expect 1k in labor on top of parts.
Good gracious! I saw on Beechtalk some people being quoted 45 hours of labor. There is no way! You’d be better off doing it yourself with IA supervision. I think LP aero sells the kits now. Don’t think Dshannon still makes them.
As always, great Video good sir :-) Very informative, Useful info on the Hydraulic VS Electric Props, as well as the Chrome 4 Ring Pistons Vice the 3 Ringers. Here's to you and Stanley getting Bonita upgraded and annualed :-)
Glad you enjoyed the video, Mav! It is rather ironic that out of the 12 spare cylinders we had to choose from, not one of them would work to replace the bad cylinder. The parts airplane cylinders were in good shape, but putting a four ring piston in with five 3-ring pistons apparently causes some balancing issues with the dynamics of the engine. We didn’t feel like replacing all six cylinders, nor would Stanley have allowed us to steal his spare top end even if we did feel like doing all that work 😂
Nice setup you guys have there. I love the windsock 🤣 I thought it was an actual sock at first lol. Love the family history.
N8834A - what is up with this v-tail?
The body looks great??? Why are you using it for parts, or am I mistaken??? I love the 3rd window!

Did you replace the speed slope windshield yourself?
Keep it up, they are a labor of love!
Thanks, Steve! I do love them, and they never cease to need my labor.
🔥🔥🔥

Thanks for the encouragement, mach37. Lol My mother seems to think having tip tanks in your bedroom makes you a nut. Lol
The new parts resource go to guy, good videos.

Did you install the speed slope windshield your self if so was it a hard process?

@@BenWeeksBonanzaPilot glad I talked to you I’ve got a quote for 10 to 11k because he said it would have to be reskinned I almost fell over lol

Entertaining video as usual. Maybe do a little "spring cleaning" - you might find some stuff you did not know you had.
Wow, the way you punch the camera to cut the shot is so edgy. 🤭
Yeah I’m something of a rebel. In school I intentionally stepped on the cracks in the sidewalk. Obviously my mother doesn’t speak to me anymore.
