This was super helpful. Also at the end when you said "I try not to THROW anything away" and you proceeded to THROW that cardboard piece out of frame really made me LOL.
Wow! All very perfect and important! Your dedication to your work inspires us a lot. I see art and love in everything you do in your work. Thank you very much for sharing this important step that is part of the whole process. Gratitude!
.... How did i literally never think to re use the boxes the canavases come in!!! LOL! Legendary. Not sure theyll fit with all the bubblewrap as they never get delivered with padding but its worth a try!!
Recycling good boxes is the best! And I totally understand what you mean with the additional mass added by bubble wrap, I have several print boxes I’m waiting to use that I couldn’t quite fit a painting in 😆
Love your work! Thanks for sharing this... I've been considering starting to sell some of my paintings but was wondering how best to package them for shipping. This was definitely helpful!
Yep! 100% How do you manage figuring out the shipping cost to charge your client? Is there a service that you use to calculate it? Or just calculate it manually through USPS/UPS/FedEx?@@courtneymyersart
I always leave it to the buyer 😁 While I am very pro framing, not everyone is. Also people have very different tastes and styles when it comes to framing ☺️
do you worry about shipping paintings if the paint isn't cured all the way yet? since oils take about 6 months to fully cure I've been worried about shipping before then.
Great question! A lot will depend on how thick you paint as well as the mediums to use. Also making sure the painting is fully dry before shipping is more important than fully cured. I paint pretty thin and my paintings are usually dry to touch within a day or two. I still require at least a month and a half before shipping any newly finished painting. This gives the painting plenty of time to be varnished with a retouch varnished and even the thickest spots are 100% dry. As long as you aren’t shipping a wet or soft painting, it is safe and will continue to cure overtime :)
You make it look easy! Me trying to gift wrap is a disaster of near biblical proportions. Fortunately I worked with ladies whose gift-wrapping skills rival your painting skills.
I really want to do oil painting but I have no idea how to safely clean up after the painting process. I've been warned about spontaneous combustion and honestly that is what's preventing me from starting. Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you! So I’ll be uploading time lapses (my first one will be posted later this week) but my method of working is very very different to Bob Ross, most of my paintings take around a month so doing similar videos to his isn’t something that would be possible for me. But hopefully the time lapses will be helpful!
@@courtneymyersart Well, I can't wait to watch it 😊. Can you make a video to show the painting tools you use, brand of paint color and other things you use 😃
Enjoy your content technical advice film in portrait to allow central picture of focus and less filming of walls and door and more of you at work. Thank
While coding, watching this channel..Really so beautiful for mind.
This was sooo helpful! Learned a lot from watching you do the entire process, thank you Courtney! 💌

Also shipping is very expensive, do you have suggestions on that or do you build it in the price of the painting?
Thank you so much for this!!
You are so welcome, hope it helps ☺️
😍Where do you get the certificate of authenticity? Do you just print it from a website or make it yourself. thanks for the video, very helpful.
Ive always been curious on shipping art. Do you ever ship a piece that is framed or do you leave that to the customer to get a frame?
I always leave it to the buyer 😁 While I am very pro framing, not everyone is. Also people have very different tastes and styles when it comes to framing ☺️
Where did you get these cardboard sheets from?
the cardboard sheets I actually saved these from packages I received! The large cardboard boxes I get from Walmart or Home Depot usually.

Jealous of who snagged this awesome original!! 🔥

@@SasukesKanojo I’ll have a video soon on toxic free cleaning! Also oil paints don’t spontaneously combust, you don’t have to worry about that 😄
I love your art. Can you do some tutorial how to make that beautiful painting like a Bob Ross ?

Not sure what you’re seeing, I film these videos using face detection autofocus, the camera isn’t ever focusing on the wall.
