Even though this video is 6 years old and I doubt you'll read this, it made me pull the trigger on one of these, and I did in fact import it from Japan, box & papers included and the transaction was buttery smooth. The watch is in pristine condition and on my very small wrist looks almost like a fully-fledged Speedmaster, the proportions are perfect for me. To my positive surprise it also has hacking, a feature the original Speedmaster was missing. My craving for one of the new 3861 Speedmasters is satisfied by this for a long time.
@@Podmanhehe simply on Chrono24, the seller was called „Kusumoto Shoten“. In the meantime I sold it and upgraded to the current 3861 Sapphire Speedmaster. But I do regret selling it, I liked it a lot on my girlfriend. :°)
This is my Grail Watch. Every year I come back and view this again to remind myself to try hard for every good thing in life. Hope some day I will get one with great condition like yours. I wish if someday you want to sell this watch, I could buy it from you, The Urban Gentry.
I’ve had my automatic Speedmaster reduced for six years now and still love it. It’s a 95 model and in excellent condition - I did consider selling it at one point but just couldn’t part with it. I wore it relentlessly when I first got it and it’s stood up really well - I now only wear it for special occasions and around the house to keep it running smoothly. A good investment and probably worth twice what I paid for it - great watches indeed 👍
Matthew Norzan Congrats Matthew, terrific piece the 3510, its pure class and such a neat compact size. I do miss those extra numbers on the dial, I kind of wish my version retained them.Enjoy it and welcome to the luxury club my friend. Best regards, TGV
If it hasn't already been said, this particular Omega has the most BEAUTIFUL BRACELET of any Omega's out there. Wouldn't even consider a NATO on this one. The bracelet is too damn nice.
Man, I was thinking about the bracelet myself and I'm afraid I'm on the other side.I hate it!. It reminds me of the Rolex GM-MasterII that is a tool watch and has that polished center links that ruins it for me (like wearing a tuxedo to a tennis match) . I thought my opinion was going to be more common, I suppose taste is like that: heterogeneous. Cheers.
THIS! I do not know why there is not more Omegas with this bracelet. It is simmilar to jubilee bracelet and for me it looks much better than the one on the 42.
David Boyle Hi David, Thank you so much, you have no idea how happy your comment made me. I am honoured to have viewers of such quality. Highest regards, TGV
Wow, it's amazing to watch an early video from this channel. Your confidence level has shot through the roof in recent years. This is very cute, though.
TGV - Seems to me to be the best version: follows the classic design formula of simplicity, automatic for convenience, sized for the long haul (not big for current fashion's sake), and beautifully finished. It's not trying to do too much. Your collection is looking pretty awesome within the 3 tier model you've adopted.
The Reduced is a mini Moonwatch with the convenience of a vertical clutch, hacking seconds, and an automatic rotor. It is its own thing. It's subtle. I prefer the design to the current 38mm and its the most comfortable watch I've ever worn.
I’ve been wanting an omega speedmaster reduced since I graduated university in 2014. Been watching this since the video came out in 2015! I’ve also been watching your how to buy a used watch video. Now 3 years later I’m actually going to japan in a week to search for one for myself! The videos have prepared me well for my search and what to expect! Just need to brush up on some Japanese!
I just had to go back to this Reduced Speedy review....such great information. I'm enamored by classic sub-40mm pieces and this ticks so many boxes. Thanks as always for the current and archived content, TGV! Cheers 👍⌚👍
Just picked one up. It’s a beautiful watch, super refined fit and really impressive quality. But what stands out most to me is the band. Not sure what is so stunning about it, but it’s a thing if beauty.
I'm swimming with it, get it to the sauna, sometimes I go from the cold pool directly to the sauna, nothing ever happened to it. The saphire glass never got a scratch and I'm also doing repairs on the bike or whatever and I have abused it a lot. I love this watch. what I do though, Is to service it every 2 years at Omega and I am sure I will enjoy this watch for many, many, years to come.
How much does it cost to service this watch? I've heard mixed reviews about servicing costs because of the stacked movement (might be just a 3510.50 issue though)
Speedy is a must have in ur collection if ur a serious watch connoisseur... This review is of great help to understand the differences in original and the reduced version
Mike James Hi Mike, Thanks for support. Apologies for the later reply. A special "Straps" video with the speedy next week, just for you! Best regards, TGV
Real in depth review of your Speedy, you sound really chuffed about this buy!!! Enjoy this lovely time piece Be careful with the steel pen or else she'll be off for a polish!!!!! Salute! JP.
I only have two problems with the reduced: The large swath of nothingness in the middle of the dial (thanks to those spaced out subdials) and that the chrono pushers are unaligned with the crown. The second issue can't be helped but the first is made more tolerable by the business of the dial on the original reduced. Glad to see that you're enjoying it; I used to own a 3510.50 and both my wife and I have fond memories of it. It’s a great little watch to own.
Arthur Montiel Hi Arthur. Thank you for your honest and detailed criticism of the reduced. I find it so much more insightful and beneficial then somebody who just dislikes it without an actual reason. In fact, I am wearing mine as I type this, my new seamaster is in the winder for tomorrow. While I can understand you POV, I have to say I still adore mine. I needed a chronograph for a work related project today and so I took mine to work. While I agree the Dial of the original reduced was better authentically, I wouldn't swap my current version for the world as the sapphire glass and increase water resistance make it less of a worry to wear. Its the prefect size for me, I really mean that, its the TGV sweet spot size wise. I am glad you and your wife can recall good times with your speedmasters, its one of the magic things about it, particularly the speedy for some reason, it yearns for speed and exploration. May I be so bold as to ask what you have these days in place of your reduced? Thank you, Regards, TGV
The Urban Gentry The chrono spot in my three watch rotation has been filled by a Speedmaster Pro Broad arrow ref. 3594.50. I've gone through many chronographs, but it always comes back to some sort of speedy. Cheers and all the best.
Hi TGV, Decided to get the Speedmaster 3510.50 used on Ebay from a reputable seller. I also bought the Certina DS Action Diver. The Squale was a close 2nd, but in the end I decided on the Certina. My next watch will be the Squale!
Hi TGV! I wonder how do you think about Speed Master 38 model. I am looking for the Speed Master (looks like Moon watch) which has self winding, date and under 40mm dial. That’s the reason why I chose S.M 38 black dial, but it’s 18mm bracelet is,,,,feels like too thin as women’s watch. (I have thin wrist as you-6.25~6.5). So want to listen your opinion. I’ve been searched long time for this but, there’s no idea except you.
TGV you are doing a very well presentation ! I own a reduced speedmaster ,I bought it in 1999 and I would like to buy a bracelet similar to the one you are presenting ! Any recommendations ?
The Urban Gentry I'm currently looking into buying a Speedmaster reduced. There's several on sale on Crown and Caliber but I was wondering what site you reccomend to buy them from Japan? I have a feeling the quality of Japan's pre-owned speedy reduced's might be better over there.
Hi! I am just buying my first Omega. I am thinking between De Ville Prestige 39.5mm (white dial) and Speedmaster Reduced. They are closely priced, especially if you look at used speedy, but De Ville is definitely more elegant and less versatile. How are you satisfied with this watch and what would you recommend?
Thanks for this review. I really love the Speedy pro, from I am a kid, in fact there is 10 years lol. But i have chick wrist 16 cm (6 inches). I think the reduced is the answer for the question, which one I have to buy. But what is the size of your wrist, to compare ? please.
Hey, guys. Since my taste greatly exceeds my buying capacity, do you think is crazy to think of acquiring this watch (it's my dream watch) and forget abour servicing ? (I can live with even +45 or -45 a day and i don't wanna pay for $700 servicing) Thanks!
Even accounting for inflation I got my Rolex way below this speedmaster wear it proudly everyday even unseen under a jacket sleeve because I like it that much I feel it while wearing it daily on my wrist and it’s a reliable partner for timekeeping
despite the video being 8 years old, It was very helpful and assisted me choosing between a reduced and a professional. Quote of the day: Today is the oldest and wisest you've ever been. Today is also the youngest you will ever be.
Hi ! I want to buy a piece of this watch and I was wondering what size is the Bracelet ? 18 millimeters I guess ? It's because I would like an alligator leather bracelet on mine. Thanks for your help.
Hello :) is the bracelet the same on this version and on the previous one ? In termes of quality and in termes of how it feels..I am not referring to the clasp :)
They are going for 3-5k used now. Does anyone know what is a good price point for these and can you buy a REDUCED2 and get it cleaned up(scratches on case, bezel, band). Any info on a Reduced3 or something like that coming out in the future?
I can't figure out whether this version of the reduced has an inhouse movement or not? I'm quite sure the first version has an ETA movement - but what about this one? cheers!
Hey Urban Gentry, i like your vids and im planning on buying one of these speedmasters the coming month. I have a question about the reduced/38mm version. Is there one with lumed bezel in this size?
Hello, TGV! I've got a "thing" on Speedmasters and I have a question: if you had a low budget, wich one would you buy: the reduced or the reduced day-date 8 hands? Thank you very much and keep up the excelent videos.
I'm going to buy a speedmaster reduced and am deciding between the 3539.50 and 3510.50. I like the arabic numerals on the 3510.50 but am concerned about the bracelet/clasp. Is it significantly sturdier on the 3539.50? I don't want my watch to jingle and I'm concerned because of your comment that the 3510.50 clasp opened while you clapped in another one of your videos. What do you think?
Nice video and great watch. It really suits you. I do really like the Moonwatches, but there's something missing for me personally - I think even just a silver ring around the chronographs would add a lot. Unlike you I really love the more recent bi-compax Moonwatch and would love to have one, but they're out of my price range. Not sure why they're so expensive.
Jonny Casual Thank you Jonny. Wouldn't say no to a 311.90.44.51.03.001 They are indeed expensive, but maybe some of these might just be worth it. Just imagine walking out the store with a virgin piece. Something for the bucket list ;-) Best regards, TGV
The Urban Gentry So what is your wrist size exactly if you don't mind me asking? The reason I want to know is b/c it looks really good on your wrist and I want it to look just as good on my wrist if I were to go with the reduced. I was originally going to order the speedy pro but I'm afraid it'll be too big on my 6.5" wrist, so now I'm considering the reduced 3539.50 version. Thanks.
oliverarado Hi Oliver, I think any Speedmaster is great in a collection, as long as YOU like it thats all that matters. I have to say I have been temped by that Speedy a few times. I prefer the sub dials in the more traditional layout on a speedy I have to say. Are you considering getting it? Best regards, TGV
Such a great review love watching your videos ! Took your advice and picked up a seiko skx009 and the Gshock dw5600 lol Would love to purchase a watch from you some day hopefully haha and would love to have the reduced as my first “luxury watch”
Is it worth buying the reduced or is the original better... I just don't want to spend over 2k on 1 watch. I'm not a collector and I only really want one watch. The professional is my dream watch.
+sniff28 Very difficult question. If you don't want to spend more the 2k, go reduced. However, if the professional is "your dream", you should not make do with the reduced and ave a bit more to achieve your dream, isn't that what life is about? Good luck, thanks for sharing, Best regards, TGV
im so jealus on your collection right now, this omega, the blue squale and the gorgeus datejust, those three will be my dream pieces for my collection, by the way, Why was it that made you sold your Trident? Ive been lusting after the gmt with burgundy bezel and deciding if I should buy that or a blue squale...
Boss Del Guapo SQUALE ALL DAY. I would pick them over a CW any day of the week. Love CW, but Squale has more style and pedigree. Undeniable. Keep me posted, Highest regards, TGV
I love these videos man thank you. now I have a small collection and tbh of love to ad a speedy to that however I don't have infinite funds. I been thinking about buying a speedy auto on auction or should I wait and save for a FWOM mechanical. I think auction price for the auto is very reasonable.
Bob Shore Thanks Bob. Cool avatar pic BTW, where did you shoot it if you don't mind me asking? Enjoy your speedy, glad to be back in the speedy club! Best regards, TGV
Richard Burns haha, Excellent question. I must say I really like the bracelet on the speedy but of course, nothing compares to that of the sub. Maybe the best bracelet I have ever worn.Cheers Richard, Best regards, TGV
Im the same way when it comes to phones screens haha. About two years ago i had to replace my screen because I left it on the ground while moving furniture and ended up putting a couch leg on it. Put a hole right through the screen.
Nice watch, but I still much more prefer the 3570.50. I just don't like how the sub dials are spread out so far. The 3570.50 dial perfectly symmetric . Nice review though, thanks for posting. Congrats!
I’ve had one for about 20 years…it stopped after the first month, sent back to Omega, then again about a year later…big service bill,it’s currently languishing with rust in it,on my mantelpiece…not working…it’s crap.
BEWARE, OMEGA PRODUCTION ERROR - All Speedmasters with cal.1861 or cal.1863 movement (manual wound) paired with 5th of a second markers on dial (seconds divided into 5 parts) or paired with 4th of a second markers, and all with cal.3220 movement (automatic) paired with 5th-second markers on dial, have INACCURATE READING of the chronograph hand due to NO FIT between dial-markers of fractions-of-a-second and the movement’s beat-frequency per second. Cal.1861/1863 beat at 6 vibrations per second (6VPS) and require a 3rd or 6th of a second per marker between the seconds; the cal.3220 beats at 8 VPS and require a half or a 4th or 8th of a second between the markers. This affects Speedmasters with reference no. 311.10.39.30; 311.33.42.30; 311.30.42.30.01; 3590.50; 3572.50 et cetera (if they have 5th of a second markers paired with a 6 BPS movement - cal.1861 or 1863); 311.30.42.30.03 (a 4th of a second per marker); and it affects Speedmasters with ref. no. 3510.50; 3510.12; 3520.50; 2598.80 etc. (if they have 5th of a second markers, i.e. each second divided into 5 fractions of a second, paired with a 6 beats per second movement - cal.3220 or 1151 etc.). Incidentally, those with ref. no. 311.32.40.30.01.005; 311.30.42.30.01.004; 311.33.40.30.02.001; percent 311.32.42.30.04.003; 522.30.42.30.04.001 (cal.1861); 311.30.42.30.99.002 (cal.1863); 3876.50.31 (cal.1866) that have a 1/3 of a second per marker (each second divided into 3 parts, i.e. 2 sub-markers between each marker of a full second), are correct. Even Tudor had the same production error/design flaw, on all their Valj.-based 28,800 BPH (8 BPS) movement equipped Heritage chronographs, having 4 dividers between each full second marker, making it a 5th of a second per marker, with a CHRONO-hand that jerks forward 6 times per second and always miss the first and the third quarter-second-marker). Only now do we see it corrected. And only now have we recently seen Omega NOT cheating in this regard, more than 50 years after they stopped making their 18,000 BPH (5 BPS) movement, cal.321. They even cheated NASA, in the 1960s, equipping the astronauts with a 6 jerks per second chronograph hand over a dial with only 5 fraction-of-a-second markers. How lame and criminal isn’t that ? Even their so-called 1957 reissue has a 21,600 BPH (6 BPS) movement paired with each second divided into 5 fractions on the dial. Right, a CURRENTLY ONGOING mass sale of factory error/design flaw equipped CRAP, useless for what it is marketed as, a precision instrument for accurate split second timing. Criminal.

Even accounting for inflation I got my Rolex way below this speedmaster wear it proudly everyday even unseen under a jacket sleeve because I like it that much I feel it while wearing it daily on my wrist and it’s a reliable partner for timekeeping
Vintage gentry is best gentry
Haha, very kind. I miss those days! Now it take almost a week to produce a video. Too much work!!! 😅
Thank you, enjoy.
Best regards,
TGV
despite the video being 8 years old, It was very helpful and assisted me choosing between a reduced and a professional.
Quote of the day:
Today is the oldest and wisest you've ever been.
Today is also the youngest you will ever be.
I hope you kept this one. It seems to me that it's perfect for you.
He sold it and then regretted it
Really nice video and review. Could you tell me which camera did you use for this video?
JR NY WATCHES Of course.
Thanks for watching.
Best regards,

The Urban Gentry I forgot to say thank you BTW, forgive my lack of manners!
Hi ! I want to buy a piece of this watch and I was wondering what size is the Bracelet ? 18 millimeters I guess ? It's because I would like an alligator leather bracelet on mine. Thanks for your help.
Yes mate 18mm bracelet. I own the reduced II also, it’s a beautiful piece.
+Future Celtics Owner There's a brand new never been worn 3539 on chrono24 in Japan right now for USD$2,119, so you're being overquoted at 3-5K used.
I can't figure out whether this version of the reduced has an inhouse movement or not? I'm quite sure the first version has an ETA movement - but what about this one? cheers!
Pretty sure this one has an ETA too
Hey Urban Gentry, i like your vids and im planning on buying one of these speedmasters the coming month. I have a question about the reduced/38mm version. Is there one with lumed bezel in this size?
Great review TGV. Anyone know the lug to lug / hight?
I just bought one myself, still has to come the post. I'm excited to say the least. Only looking for a beater watch, not a g-shock. Any suggestions?

Hello, TGV!
I've got a "thing" on Speedmasters and I have a question: if you had a low budget, wich one would you buy: the reduced or the reduced day-date 8 hands? Thank you very much and keep up the excelent videos.
Tristano, do you still have this watch? I think you sold it, right? Im looking for something like this... any ideas to buy in NYC?
Thanks! 👍🏻
Stunning piece. Your the English Clooney. Ciao
Stewart Craig lololol, cheers mate!
Best regards as always,
TGV
P.s. Glad you like the castle ;-)
Nice review sir! Is this the same diameter with Sarb033? I need a comparison. I'm interested .I like your passion with watches. Keep it up.
353950 mate the clasp is stunning
Is it 20mm ?
YouYouYou!!! 18mm
SurfThomasVD not 20mm?? Does Omega have 18mm steel bracelet with that push pin buckle??
Jang Hyunwoo 24:40. That is indeed the factory spec bracelet in the video.
Wouldn't say no to a 311.90.44.51.03.001
They are indeed expensive, but maybe some of these might just be worth it.
Just imagine walking out the store with a virgin piece.
Something for the bucket list ;-)
Best regards,
TGV
At first i freaked when the pen touched the cristal because I’m used to speedys using acrylic, then i remembered this one has saphire.
I really wished there was a date
What's your wrist size? The reduced size looks great on your wrist. I'm thinking of getting one now since mine are 6.5"
It would be perfect for you. But I recommend this later version especially.
Best regards,
TGV
The Urban Gentry So what is your wrist size exactly if you don't mind me asking? The reason I want to know is b/c it looks really good on your wrist and I want it to look just as good on my wrist if I were to go with the reduced. I was originally going to order the speedy pro but I'm afraid it'll be too big on my 6.5" wrist, so now I'm considering the reduced 3539.50 version. Thanks.
TGV, what are your thoughts on the Speedmaster Date 3513.50? Figured it was time to add a Speedmaster to the collection
oliverarado Hi Oliver,
I think any Speedmaster is great in a collection, as long as YOU like it thats all that matters.
I have to say I have been temped by that Speedy a few times. I prefer the sub dials in the more traditional layout on a speedy I have to say.
Are you considering getting it?
Best regards,
TGV

PS. Sinn 104 Review is now uploaded! ;-)

Great review and great watch! Thanks for sharing, TGV
+Marcos Quiros You are most welcome,
Thanks for watching,
Best regards,

Good luck, thanks for sharing,
Best regards,
TGV
+The Urban Gentry
what size are your wrists? I'm 6.5 and quite athletically built so I am on the fence about whether to go reduced or pro.
im so jealus on your collection right now, this omega, the blue squale and the gorgeus datejust, those three will be my dream pieces for my collection, by the way, Why was it that made you sold your Trident? Ive been lusting after the gmt with burgundy bezel and deciding if I should buy that or a blue squale...
Boss Del Guapo SQUALE ALL DAY. I would pick them over a CW any day of the week.
Love CW, but Squale has more style and pedigree. Undeniable.
Keep me posted,
Highest regards,
TGV
Does the sapphire version have the same case thickness as the version 1?
I love these videos man thank you. now I have a small collection and tbh of love to ad a speedy to that however I don't have infinite funds. I been thinking about buying a speedy auto on auction or should I wait and save for a FWOM mechanical. I think auction price for the auto is very reasonable.
Why wouldn't you use this watch for diving or boating ?
I have the hesalite version.... it’s a beautiful 38 mm jewel!!! So sad Omega discontinued this masterpiece
Gian is it 38 or 39 mm
@@sebastiandavies7321 ~37 without the crown
Does the hesalite version exist?
Thanks for such a great review of a great watch!
+Zeljko Marcek You are most welcome, very kind of you to say!

how much bar is it?
What the name of the rap song in the beginning? it's catchy.
In your other review you said this movement was unreliable?
Bought mine today, it's a 1995 model probably. I'm really exited!
Has anyone seen one is such great condition. I’ll buy this if you have it!
Wonderfull review, I cant find any with same conditions of this one!!
HI Bro, do you still own this watch, i want to buy.
Ahh the good old days of jazz being played in the background and the nypd making a noise 😂
Great review, I love my full size "Vintage?" Speedy NASA model.
Bob Shore Thanks Bob. Cool avatar pic BTW, where did you shoot it if you don't mind me asking?
Enjoy your speedy, glad to be back in the speedy club!
Best regards,
TGV
Hindu Kush mountains a few years ago. Spent a good deal of time in Afghanistan. Had on either my Blue Mako or Seiko 007 Diver.
This watch is extremely difficult to find. Right now i cannot find any in europe on chrono24.
DerpEye are chrono24 safe to use would you recomended, I have been looking at catawiki but so long as a site is safe and I get genuine it's all I want
What is the lug-to-lug distance of this speedy reduced 2?
Its an 18mm. Its a little smaller but keeps in scale with the full-sized professional version.
if you were buying from japan say on Ebay how would you know it's the real thing and not a copy ?
Just picked up the full set for the 3539.50 and just serviced for ~$1.8K. Would you say a pretty good deal?
I would have to see it but from what you say I would say that is a very good deal, enjoy and congrats!
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
Great review. Thank you.
is this now called the racing mens watch? instead of reduced
+Jack Naylor Yes, very true, jazzed it up with colours too, thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
Can I ask how big your wrist is? I am interested in buying one second hand but the size is the worry
Well my wrist size is only 6 inches thus watches above 40mm tend to look really big on my wrist.
Thanks for the recommendation! I will definitely have a look at it.
Cheers!
Now this same version is selling for 2800-3000 used!
I am planning to get it in some months from now. I was able to find it for 1400€ and 1300something €
@@georgediama i got one, highly reccomend, just make sure its the sapphire crystal one
How does the bracelet compare to that of your Sub?
Richard Burns haha, Excellent question. I must say I really like the bracelet on the speedy but of course, nothing compares to that of the sub. Maybe the best bracelet I have ever worn.Cheers Richard,
Best regards,
TGV
Do you feel under pressure to buy more watches so you can maintain the reviews? :)
I love watches. I thought I would share my purchases on my channel. Would you prefer I not do a review? Thanks for watching
Best regards,
TGV
Im the same way when it comes to phones screens haha. About two years ago i had to replace my screen because I left it on the ground while moving furniture and ended up putting a couch leg on it. Put a hole right through the screen.
Love this watch. Thinking about trading my modern Racing Co-Axial for the 3539
Nice watch, but I still much more prefer the 3570.50.
Criminal.
Are seiko chronographs also a scam?
