I happen to own both styles but changed the Reduced to black Omega leather strap to give them a different look. Not important but oddly enough, Reduced is easier to hand-wind than the Professional due to the position of their crowns. I wear them both, switching depending on the occasion.
Strap monster, naturally. I didnt go nuts, but have 4 leathers, a perlon and 3 natos for my Reduced. I love it on leathers, and the more discrete sizing can have it do some dressier dual duties without looking out of place with a suit or a blazer.
You should have shown the case back in either watch, which is very different. In the Professional it is gorgeous while in the Automatic it is pretty dull. Also, the sub dials in the Professional are much deeply recessed while in the Automatic they're very shallow. The dial in the Professional appears very dark grey, not really black, while in the Auto it is pitch black. The clasp in the Professional is much more elaborate.
nice review. couple things to mention. the original speedmaster's were 39 mm and were upsized 5 years later. also depending on the reduced model, there are variances. some do have the chrono second hand lume for example. some of the reduced have what is considered better movements and are more accurate. as far as price goes, the reduced model, triple date, actually cost more than a professional when new. i like both, don't have a dog in the fight. both are fine pieces. the size thing is funny. 3mm is 4/32nds of an inch. hardly a massive difference.
what's the Pro like in terms of accuracy? my reduced keeps good time as long as the spring is well wound but otherwise tends to loose quite quickly. thanks for your answers
Yes, absolutely. But I would suggest to try pro first. If you think it looks big on you then reduced is your choice. I own reduced and can’t be more proud of my choice

I have been researching on Speedmaster Reduced and noticed few watches have 3 lines between each minute line and others have 4 lines between each minute line. What is the difference and why is it so?
I have a reduced. Beautiful bracelet, I love the size and the fact it’s an auto. The professional also has a space penis on the 12 o’clock hand. I get it. It’s not a true moonwatch. But I never cared about that
Fadi Jan I’ll give you some options in different price points ~$500: Seiko sarb033 or 035 (white dial), Hamilton Khaki Field ~$1500: Tudor black bay 36, Tudor 74000 ~$2500: Grand Seiko SBGR001, Omega Aqua Terra Automatic 38mm ~$3000: Rolex DateJust 1601 ~$3500: Tudor Black Bay 58, Grand Seiko SBGR253 ~$4500: Rolex Explorer I, Zenith El Primero Chronomaster 38mm
@@purplefabian You are right on the ETA part. The problem here the is add on chronograph module. I've heard a rumor that even Omega itself actually replace the whole module when servicing.
The reduced has an automatic ETA 2892-A2 movement with a Dubois Depraz chronograph module in it. The movement powers the module. The regular Speedmaster has a manual wound caliber with a true integrated chronograph. Almost anybody can service a Speedmaster professional. Almost everybody will run and hide from servicing any watch with a DD module and either tell you to send the reduced back to Omega or to just go away..
I wish they didn't discontinue the reduced Speedmaster....

The reduced gets the nod from me because it’s my “birth year” watch. 1988... Both great time pieces though
Great side by side review and highloght on the different. Great video as usual
I’m not a fan of watches bigger than 40mm so I chose the reduced instead of purchasing the professional

Will the reduced look good on my 8 1/2 inch wrist?

I found sa watch simillar to this watch the professional one. How much do you think i can sell it? In philippine peso😊 thank you for respond
Badass watch def gonna be the chrono in my collection
Is it worth buying the reduced?

Thanks a lot@Bobs' watches!

Can you please mention the calibers of each? thank you
One other difference is the offset pushers on the Reduced.
While seeing this video, i order a reduce one through Chrono24 2002 model lets see 😊

Perfect. Well done. Thanks...!
I would prefer the "reduced".
Comparison but the lug to lug? The tickness?
my wrist is 6 inches can I pull off a speedmaster professional ? most 40mm watches look good on my wrist but I dunno about a 42mm
42mm will be too big, you should get the reduced Speedmaster.
@@marcd7332 thanks for the reply , but I'm not a fan of the reduced though so looks like I'll look for other watches
@@fadijan2347 There are many good options in that price point, what style of watch are you looking for?
@@marcd7332 i was looking for something versatile , looks good on a bracelet or on leather and can be worn casually or in a more professional setting

Good comparison 👍
Thank you for telling us 39mm is smaller tl than 42 mm..
You are the man
😂😂😂
I need to know the real difference, that is, the difference in movement and accuracy.
the speedy pro!
Since Reduced use a modular movement, when it is time to go for maintenance, the service fees will be pretty substantial.
Which will be cheaper to maintain? The reduced or professional?
@@purplefabian Reduced.
If you look for some independent watch maker to service the Reduced model, chances are they might refuse to service it.
Miscellaneous Chaotic Lab oh I thought it was the other way around because everybody keeps saying eta movements can get serviced everywhere.
@@purplefabian You are right on the ETA part. The problem here the is add on chronograph module. I've heard a rumor that even Omega itself actually replace the whole module when servicing.
Indeed... Stay away from the reduced, nothing beats the original !
It's the speedy pro for me.
The professional just looks so professional tho 🤷🏻♂️
you didnt mention why one is cheaper than the other one !
Abdullah El Hashimy ones smaller 😂

just size ? i dont think so
Different movement, older model, doesn't have the updated specs etc
