"Agar Pakistan islamic mission pursue nahi karega toh kya reh jaayega ? Pakistan toh India reh jaayega".
This sentiment was shared with me by my grandfather while recounting our family's migration from Pakistan to India, and it resonates deeply.

“ General Zia expressed it succinctly: if Turkey or Egypt did no project Islam, they would remain Turkey and Egypt. But if Paliste did not pursue Islam aggressively, it would become part of India again This fear became part of the national psyche.” Page 24, Political Conflict in Pakistan
Your anecdote is exactly what he meant by saying this fear became the national psyche

You forgot the naked fact that Turkey and Palestine were created more or less by partition based on religion. Ottoman empire was split and various countries were formed based on identities of 'nationhood', religion, language or culture. India was a mini empire or a dominion created as part of the British empire. Pakistan's case is unique in the fact that they abandoned their claim to being actual Indians ( Indus river based) for a country based on a brand-new name.

@hawkingdawking4572 The most popular Indian party BJP has publicly via Modi declared Muslims to be Infiltrators "Ghus-bethiye" in India and most of media has doubled down on his remarks . For us muslims of Pakistan, there is no going back to India or Indian-ness, BJP itself is declaring that there muslim is not part of Indian nation. Its done.

@@hawkingdawking4572 haha, it wasn't just about the river, but about the culture, people and civilisation living beyond it. Himalayas on the other side protect India, crossing Indus was the only land route to this land. America was found looking for India. India was a collective foreign name for the peninsula, alo whatever you say, Indians had a name unifying this whole place all this time. I mean the world's longest poem written ages ago has a name for this region and it clearly states places all the way from Anga(assam) and Manipur to Kandahar(Gandari) to the southern tips going to Lanka. There were clear unifying aspects between people within the subcontinent and aspects separating them from people outside this peninsula / subcontinent. Sounds like a nation to me.

2002 Gujrat riot were RIOTS, meaning clash between 2 communities, by calling it a genocide (or) putting it in that bracket is being intellectually dishonest of the highest order, spreading fake narrative without making an attempt to learn facts.
The instigation was from Ganchi muslims by burning the train, where karsevaks were burnt alive, what happened was a retaliation
If u want to call genocide,
Check "noakhali massacre" , "mopalah massacre" , "kashmiri hindus genocide"

There r about 20 million illegal migrants in India, with extreme majority being bangladeshi mostly muslims, who have changed demographic in certain constituency and don't represent Indian values.
Overall this is a reaction to the appeasement politics that the other side plays.

You can't call genocide by technical definition in Palestine because even 1971 Bangladesh casualties were not called genocide. For genocide by definition, you need to have a certain percentage of the population. In Palestine, certainly what is happening is extremely unfortunate, but you can't call simply as Genocide like Jews Genocide in Germany. Because you need to have a certain population percentage. When Saudi allied forces' operations caused half a million casualties, it was still not called genocide despite no of casualties being 30 times more than Palestine. I know your emotional support for Palestine is quite visible, but don't use wrong terminology for casualties. By using wrong terminology, you are mixing it with actual real genocides like Armenian genocide or Jewish Genocide.

It's funny that I am saying it like this but when you compare the otherization of minorities by majority, you seem to forget that the majority in India are entirely different from the majority in Pakistan in societal values. We are continuously fighting our battles for equality within our communities and for other communities that are oppressed within themselves and we as a citizen of a democratic nation are encouraged to do so. From where I am looking at things I guess some religious communities are just built differently. The majority community in India is indeed. We have had a long battle of rectifying ourselves of our sins, we continue to do so each day simultaneously coexisting with 40 crore other communities that we know as our minorities and only a handful seem to have a problem in doing the same. There is this inherent exclusive mindset in some communities that makes it hard for them to coexist peacefully. In this case the otherization was done long-long back and it can't be undone now. As far as India is concerned, you'll need to read more than Romilla Thapar and NYTimes

We welcome them open heartedly when they came .. it was muslims who fought hard with them bcoz they were rulers.. we started learning English, took jobs of muslims in Bombay,Chennai, calcutta and slowly became trusted allied.. we educated in english education and then started political movement... It is one hell of thing intelligent Hindus did.. muslims never surrendered so in the end they were thrown out with stone aged mentality.. Hindus did reforms in religion, opened universities, secularised our population..

Post-partition governance in Pakistan was a continuation of the British East India Company's viceroy-like dictatorial mindset. The voice of the common man was always subjugated and central authority was perpetrated with seeds of democracy and decentralization never allowed to germinate. An oligarchical setup has always prevailed which has totally strangulated encouragement of new ideas and original thought resulting in depleted and stunted growth of the nation. The sooner rulers realize their mistakes and promote emergence of new ideas and original thought, progress and prosperity of Pakistan will always suffer. Pakistan Army needs to return to their barracks and take the back-seat for Pakistan to progress and prosper. It is as simple as that...

Malaysians and Indonesians embrace and accept their culture and past, hence they are relatively better off than Pakistanis and Bangladeshis. Contrary to what's taught in Pakistani madrasas, India became the India of today not because of Nehru but because of its Hindu roots which are progressive, hardworking and liberal. Hindus (including Jains, Atheists, Bodh) accept our cultural heritage and identity, shared values and hence are the most wealthy and successful immigrants in USA and Europe. I think Shehzad, you cannot say that there is discrimination of Muslims and cannot equate India with the experience of Pakistan or Israel . In India it is a backlash of the majority in view of perceived ( whether real or imagined) appeasement of minorities. You have Wakf that is independent, haj subsidies , civil law and special status to Muslims that that has given that backlash whereas the Hindu places of worship act places the Temples under state control etc. lease do some in depth research away from Islamic lens and learn why BJP that had 2 seats in the past came in power so fast. It is because of the errors of judgement in the Congress party that lead to rise of the Hindu right . Shah Bano case and the opening of ram mandir was the fault of the congress . How political parties exploited the tendency of Muslims to vote en block lead to appeasement. When this continued for 75 years then it lead to backlash by the majority community….it is a lazy analysis by western scholars and the left scholars.
When India was mostly hindu , we had an exceptional tolerance . Parsis, Muslims and Jews and others were assimilated but not converted. They thrived for centuries before the British or even Mughals came . And just showing Modi’s speech without context is just as bad. This speech was in the context in reply to Manmohan Singh speech said explicitly said that Muslims had 1st dip on resources and this was said in an election cycle.
I think it is duplicitous on the part of Muslim communities outside India when they demand liberal values when in minority like India , USA , etc. but when when in majority like Malaysia , Indonesia , Pakistan , Bangladesh , Turkey , middle east they demand that other communities follow Islamic values ( not necessarily sharia but values ) So it is Ok that Erdogan can convert a secular structure which was historically a church to a mosque but when Hindus demand that they be given what is rightfully their destroyed properties by Islamic invaders then they are communal and fascists . You seem to have a lot of sympathies for people in Palestine but I don't see protests for people killed in Yemen by the Saudis . I did not see mass protests by Muslims standing in protests for terror attacks,. No wonder the western world sympathies only run in left leaning educational institutions but no where else.
In my opinion the ideal India is a country that Hindus and Muslims live like equals with no discrimination or appeasement and as equals in a country that is theirs and protections built in for the weakest sections of the societies irrespective of religion.

The thing that is missing from narrative about what the Indian PM said is that he was quoting Dr Singh and linking it to what Mr R Gandhi has been saying and hidden within its manifesto.
The fight of Hindus in India is to be treated equally as the Christian and Muslim brethren.
Congress gifted away acres of prime land in Delhi to Wakf board right before 2014 elections to get those minority votes. They also brought in a law that would prescute majority irrespective of perpetuators in case of riots. We also have draconian laws in Wakf which allow the minority to stake claims to any land they want and that decision can’t be challenged in courts! They recently claimed to a 1000 year old temple as Wakf owned property.
They have at it now in Karnataka and Telangana where they have government.
Indias problem were never the Muslims. It was the illegitimate children of British in Congress who always divided Indians.

Hindus are furious that Muslim Waqaf land is huge and they can't steal it by force. They are also angry about Christian lands in high price downtown areas in all the major cities. Various Hindu rallies are organised to grab them by stone pelting and subsequent 'court seizures'.

Yours is one of the few rational voices out of Pakistan, who aren't afraid of calling out faults in Pakistan's policy or conduct
I have a query about the history being taught in schools in Pakistan. Are Pakistani school kids taught that India & Pakistan got independence from British rule on account of the Congress, Subhash Chandra Bose's INA and the many other revolutionaries who fought the British Raj in any way they could? Congress leaders drove the mass nonviolent movements, INA tried with full scale army and revolutionaries like Bhagat Singh, Azad etc used guerilla warfare. And they paid a heavy price - Congress leaders spent decades in jail, INA was defeated and revolutionaries were tortured and then killed.
However the Muslim League, under Jinnah's leadership, never fought for independence, nor did any ML leader spend any significant time in jail. All they did was demand outsize political power in undivided India, and barring that, a separate homeland for Muslims (when the British were ready to Ieave)
Is "how Pakistan achieved independence from Britain" taught in schools?

Pakistan’s slide is reflected in fortunes of Karachi. At freedom the city was vibrant, prosperous and progressive.
So much that Singapore was modeled after it.
You could argue the Dec line started with flight of Hindus due to Hindu being first “Others “.
Pakistan in order to reinvent needs to let go down the current religio-military construct. Question is about willingness.

The land of ancient India have always been a shelter for downtrodden and very giving! So, everyone who violated it paid for it dearly from mohd bin kasim to mohd jinna, from ahmadi Muslims to Bengali Muslims!

There is a difference both the religions. A country based on Hinduism will not discriminatory, violent, corrupt, terror-supporting and predatory like Pakistan or any other "Kattar" Islamic state. You can observe this in countries like UAE and SAudi Arabia who are distancing themselves from radical Islam because they know the truth.

Democracy nd economic development is not corelate to religious belief.. It’s more abt ur investment in modern education, political awareness nd democratic institutions…. Malaysia nd turkey r far better thn india nd myanmar - budhhist country is in chaos ..
So don’t blame religion for all d complex social political reality ..RSS andhbhakt

This coming from an Indian is hilarious, because you guys claim to be the "accepting" and "progressive" people. You learn stuff about Muslims off of anti Muslim platforms and are told that they are bad for your entire life. Grow up and learn to respect others, practice what you preach.

33:52 and also buddy your all points are from a islamic lenses.. you are able to see and sympathies with the otherisation of Muslim be in India or west.. but can't see the otherisation of non Muslim in Islamic constitution.. be it Maldives who have clauses of Muslim in citizenship or multiple countries where minorities are in micro number.. then where are your minorities and what kind of phobia is that.. kafiron phobia.
    As i said I can't stand hypocrisy
