Correction…..There was never a feud between Michael Anthony and Alex. It was between Eddie and Michael Anthony. It was a one sided feud mainly because of Eddie, he didn’t like Michael playing a few gigs with Sammy Hagar because Sammy and Eddie had a falling out. At the time, the VH brothers weren’t doing anything so Michael thought it would be ok to play a few gigs with Sammy, thus keeping the VH name out there. Eddie took offense to that and started bad mouthing Michael, saying Mike couldn’t really play that well and he had to show Mike what to play on bass.
Sammy made a video saying that Eddie never showed Mike what play and that Mike is a kickass bass player. Throughout it all, Mike demonstrated his integrity as a human being and never replied to Eddie’s bad mouthing him in the press. Mike took a lot BS from the brothers and David Lee Roth including them cutting his royalties from the 1984 album which sold 10 million copies. Mike lost a ton of money but he went out on stage every night and played his heart out during the entire sold out 1984 tour, by then he was basically a paid employee. They all knew each other since teenage years! I am a huge VH fan but it’s truly despicable the way the VH brothers treated Mike.
