- Smokey party jollof rice and beans Ingredient list
Tomapep purée (steam/ blend)
5 Large paprika (Tatashe)
5 chilli peppers (shombo)
5 large tomatoes
1 scotch bonnet (atarodo)
3 large carrots
5 garlic cloves
2 thumbs ginger
6 medium onions
1 tbsp peanut oil
To cook turkey
2 kg turkey wings
1 large onion
1 tbsp ginger/ garlic paste
2 seasoning cubes
1tsp curry powder
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp white pepper.
Salt to taste
1 cup water
To cook jollof rice
2 cooking spoons peanut oil
2 Onions (sliced)
2 cups Tomato Paste
3 cups tomapep purée
1 tsp curry powder
1 tsp thyme
3 bouillon cubes
2 tsp white pepper
3 Bay Leaves
1/2 tsp nutmeg
Salt to Taste
4 cups basmati rice (washed)
11/2 cups beans (perboiled)
2 cups chicken stock
2 cups water.
Garnish at the end
2 Tablespoons Butter
2 cups carrots
2 cups bell peppers
1 cup sweet corn
Salt and seasoning to taste.

In Africa we are taught to start cooking in the kitchen early as 10 years old like I did as well when I was younger in Africa
@yafabulous4683 I am from Cameroon (Central Africa), though I have been in the US for over 30 years. I concur. I started helping with cooking at 5, and I was baking and cooking at 10. Once a week, I had to cook for the whole family, until I left home.
