Basically, in Minnesota and a couple of other states, a lawsuit can be live just by serving the other party with the complaint without even filing with a court (and paying the court fees). It should be obvious why these kinds of shake-down lawsuits would not be initially filed in court by the plaintiff if they can help it. They just want a quick payout and then move on. They certainly don't want to have to pay fees or to have the details of their lawsuit publicly known.
These people should be driven out of business and out of the country. These are are bottom-dwellers who cannot make an honest living. Make each person suing these businesses 'prove' that they were actually in the business.

It’s so shameful and disgusting.
This is really disgusting that there are people out there that abuse the system. It makes it hard for folks who are really disabled.

I am not sure how paying out money allows a “Business” to not have to comply to ADA in the future.

There is a rise in these types of lawsuits in S.F. One guy went around and sues everyone like a mafia. Crazy.
