The one X factor of the Marines you forget to expound upon was MARSOC just like the Navy would use the Seals, and Army would use Delta and Green Berets to infultrate and disrupt before full invasion. The Marines would also probably use MARSOC to advance until the jungle phase. Great Video love the entertainment and info.
I mean the Corps was the first to get the V-22, for all its ups and downs. It was also the first to receive F-35s in the B variant in 2012, declaring Initial Operating Capability in 2015.
The “hand me downs “ given to the USMC is not a tale of “look at their poor toys”. It’s a tale of “see this?! See that?! These are the bad things, the rest of the USAM is even better armed” Followed by the Marines spitting on the ground and saying “it worked against Charlie in Nam, it works against whatever stupid thing dares meet us in whatever stupid place they live in.”
Good landing area choice. You did forget a few assets though, even if they are navy. The LHA’s (Tarawa class and America class) and the LHD’s (Wasp class) are not the on amphibious ships. They are the largest and have the large flight deck (they are about the size of a WWII aircraft carrier), there are also LPD’s and LSD’s. They are more of an amphibious vehicle landing ship like the AAV’s and the new one replacing it. They also have the ability to launch LCACs and LSUs as well. You did forget that the landing ships will also have destroyers as escorts, which can add air defense as well as TLAMs that can attack ground targets. You initial splash point is great, and the idea of getting HIMARS to shore quickly is doable. For the airport take over I would use the CH-53’s and MV-22’s escorted by cobras to do a Helo assault of the airport concurrent to the amphibious landing. Taking out the bridge is a sound idea as is the HIMARS attack on the airfield after landing. The LAV’s can run a screen line on the flanks watching for any counter attack while the main force secures from the beach head to the airport. Some of the known smaller bases can be attacked by air or TLAM, reducing both the will to fight and the equipment they could bring available to a fight. After securing from the beach head to the airport, start doing patrols and expanding out from there until you capture the capitol and other major cities. By that point you have basically won the entire country, and what resistance is left, they don’t have much to fight with.
Okay, so Vietnam was one thing. The jungles of Vietnam still had villages and roads. The Venezuelan Amazon is almost completely uninhabited and Venezuelan troops would be less acclimated to it than the Marines.
As a Venezuelan living in the US, you couldn't be more accurate, the only thing you got wrong is that venezuela is not a conscription army, we don't serve mandatory army service Other than that, the USMC against the whole venezuelan military still sounds very overkill 🤣
I love this fucking joke (the ending) the marine calls out... 1 marine... Is better than 1000 i.s.i.s fighters .. So the isis commander sends his thousand... After a ten minute firefight... One isis fighter crawls back to the commander... And says "Don't send anymore... It's a trap There's two of em!!!!"
So, funny story, the Marines can fire HIMARS from the deck of amphibious warfare vessels and HIMARS can fire ATACMS and the new PRSM. That means they have the ability to engage targets out to 500km from any amphibious warfare vessel. Also I think you should give the Marines the Navy's LCS ships. Both LCS classes are designed with the capability to embark and deploy a reinforced platoon sized contingent of Marines.

They UH-1 came out mid to late 50’s, the army adopting right before Vietnam in mid 60’s, the USMC was a couple years behind, my unit was stood up in Vietnam, brand new Huey’s and out of the school houses, the stand up a unit in Vietnam. And they became famous. On Marble Mountain in Vietnam. We ran troops in and out, supplies, and medivac. The only reason AH-1 came about. Is cause we up arming some Huey’s to act as dedicated gunships for our medivacs and troop transports. By stealing fixed wing systems and modifying the UH-1 to use them, like 4 and 2.75” rockets, 250 and 500 lb bombs. All the M60’s like 2 M60 door guns, one on each side, 2 per side, fixed forward, the rockets and machine guns were boresighted and a grease pen mark was put on the wind screen for aiming. They even hand built nose turrets for the UH-1 that skewed and elevated, electrical and remote controlled in Vietnam, with 2 m60’s in it, for the co pilot, essentially gunner now to run, while the pilot fired the foxed guns and rockets, in the diving attacks i mentioned earlier. The army found out, so they had us teach them, by then the government found out and investigated and were like holy shit these are so good for hand built prototypes and illegal modifications, they finally listed to us, and built a dedicated attack platform, the AH-1. That, at the time was like 80-90% parts compatible with the UH-1…and it had all the same weapons we figured out how to use on helos in the first place, and dedicated targeting systems. With a 7.62 minigun and mk19 in the chin turret. And rocket/gun pods on the stub wings, and yes the ability to bomb still.
Concerning improvements to this style of video. 1.) I like the images of the gear that you pop up on screen. I think a good way to contrast the differences better between the two forces is to have a sort of scoreboard that you continually update with each section. (Example: You start off with a blank white screen, then break it in half by coloring each half with the flag of the force you are talking about. Then for each piece of equipment you add an image to the corresponding side till it looks like those military asset maps. I'm not sure if this is a real thing or just something I've seen in videogames. Either way it will help a visual learner see the difference between the two forces in a way that simply saying the numbers wouldn't.) 2.) Graphics or stills for the weapon specs when you're talking about the weapon systems. (Example: When you were talking about the difference between the two anti-air guns you could have Venezuela's model of the gun and draw a circle about the weapon's image with four lines coming from the barrel. Then contrast that with the Marines gun with a larger circle and eight lines coming out of its barrel. You could also add written commentary explaining why one variant sucks or is awesome. 3.) Combat lines on how the assault should go. You could add the boats and plans images to the satellite photo, and then have them move along the map so you're not just showing a static image for the audience to look at. You could even add the characters you've created from your short content to do some commentary about the battle. I know implementing any of these suggestions would create a lot of editing work, and I have no idea if it would boost engagement, but I do know that listening to someone describe numbers is hard to visualize for a lot of people and any of these would help with that. Of course all that being said it could be a money sink that doesn't boost viewership enough to offset the cost. But that's just my opinion. Love the video.
America is so disgustingly OP as a whole that he has to pick a single branch of the military to pit against an entire country just to POSSIBLY give the target a chance.
Bro, I loved this video, loved how you went more in depth, and loved the energy. Take good care yourself and your lady, and I look forward to the next video, much love brother!

I’m gonna nerd out on ya for a minute HLC. You CANNOT call the AH-1 Viper a version of the Apache. Well, you can, and did, but it’s actually produced from the UH-1 Huey. All it has in common with the Apache is they’re both helicopters that can make someone’s day go from bad to worse.
Guyana: Wow we just discovered oil. Venezuela: dont you mean our oil? Man at least it's a different gulf this time, what do you prefer "Gulf War 3: Dia de Muertos" or "Rumble in the Jungle?"
@@habitual_linecrosser I'm also pretty sure the AH-1Z is easier to maintain, cheaper, and more suited to the conditions out at sea. Don't forget it can use air to air missiles as well which is pretty handy when you don't have perfect air superiority immediately
AH-1Z is the Zulu for the UH-1Y. For some reason, possibly because the AH-1 comes from the UH-1, they share letters in the system. The AH-1 for example only come in E, F, G, J, Q, R, P, S, T, W, Z with G being the first in Viet-Nam. The UH-1 comes in the A,B, C, D, E, F, G, H, J, K, L, M, N, U, V, X. The repeat letters are weird but the initial UH-1E was for the Marines while the AH-1E was an much later upgrade. The UH-1F was an USAF version, again the AH-1F was a much later upgrade. The UH-1G was an export to Cambodia, as was the UH-1J was for Japan. UH-1P was an USAF SpecOPs version while the AH-1P was a new built AH-1S.
The cruiseship was from Germany and was called the "Resolute". That happend in march 2020. Back then it was in the news here in Germany for about a week, if my memory is correct. 🤔
Some reasons that I know of why the marines use the cobra and Huey is because a lot of the parts are interchangeable and the size, we could fit quite a few inside the hanger bays in the LHDs and As.
From what I hear, they phased out the abrams cause it was holding them back. While it may be able to go 45mph, it's still 68 tons and heckin heavy. And the marines are trying to change to be even more speedy and maneuverable. They are not a wall of American might slamming home superiority, they are marines. If they need heavy sustained firepower...that's what the navy/airforce/army is for. So having your equipment fit your doctrine makes sense. Still think they should bring back a variant of the m50 Ontos though. I don't care HOW directly in-effective it supposedly is, it's morale suppression ability is off the charts scary. Direct fire tank sized shotguns? Airburst artillery is good and all...but that takes TIME and DISTANCE...which marines don't want. They want to close in fast. Exactly what the Ontos could deliver. Perhaps that fancy new timed-burst multi-mode ammo for the 30mm can do something sorta similar. But, and this is important now, NOT NEARLY AS SCARY. Having God's shotgun on your side makes a statement that NO ONE wants to argue with.
for armor, the AMX 30 and AMX 13 tanks are French design, FV101 Scorpion 90 is British, yes, and the BTR and BMP are both Russian. In case you wanted reassurance.
Also fun fact, about 1/4 of the now upgraded UH-1Y and AH-1Z first flew and fought in Vietnam…and have been upgraded, they came my unit HML/A-167 and the other skids squadron, that we share a hanger with in NC, HML/A-269 as we were the first two in the USMC. So yeah, roughly a 1/4 of each been fighting since Vietnam and survive, along with unending training. They are best helos in the world, first turbine powered ones, first attack helicopter, first and only to bomb. When the last black hawk is flown to the bone yard, they’ll fly back, riding in a Huey. The only aircraft that could possibly out live them, is the B-52. No help on earth will outlive their service life though. They are approaching 60 years in the USMC.

The other thing about the Naguatá was that the Resolute wasn’t just a cruise ship. It was an *antarctic* cruise ship. Meaning it was fitted with the strongest grade of icebreaker hull you can find on civilian ships. And yeah, when a ship can crack a yard and change thickness of polar ice without trouble, it’s gonna win a ramming contest against anything smaller than it.
Apache has more armour than the viper. Think of it like heavy vs light cav, apache can come in with direct fire and not worry about much hurting it. Viper is lighter with less armour and has more endurance/range. They do basically the same job but doctrinally different. Also we are yet to see a naval apache, the viper fits on CVN' or LHA' etc.
That just means that the Marines get to use the bus drivers- I mean the US Navy- to get them and their assets on shore. Afterward the squids can stand off and watch.

"Don't send anymore... It's a trap There's two of em!!!!"
@@Erok146 the glorious old joke that can still fit just as easily lmao
So, funny story, the Marines can fire HIMARS from the deck of amphibious warfare vessels and HIMARS can fire ATACMS and the new PRSM. That means they have the ability to engage targets out to 500km from any amphibious warfare vessel. Also I think you should give the Marines the Navy's LCS ships. Both LCS classes are designed with the capability to embark and deploy a reinforced platoon sized contingent of Marines.
The ending of "they run to the Amazon rain forest" gave me flashbacks of "we run to Iran"
"Taliban, teach me your secret to dealing with America!"
"... Run to Pakistan!"

Either way it will help a visual learner see the difference between the two forces in a way that simply saying the numbers wouldn't.)
2.) Graphics or stills for the weapon specs when you're talking about the weapon systems.
Pretty soon we're gonna be doing team ups against the US at this point

The Marines use the AH-1 instead of the AH-64 because the Cobra is skinnier so you can fit more on an LHA’s deck.
Is this true!?? That actually makes a lot of sense
@@habitual_linecrosser I'm also pretty sure the AH-1Z is easier to maintain, cheaper, and more suited to the conditions out at sea. Don't forget it can use air to air missiles as well which is pretty handy when you don't have perfect air superiority immediately
@@habitual_linecrosser I read that in Tom Clancy’s book explaining MEUs
The Marine corps has finally started replacing the ch53e with the ch53k, which is just an upgrade in most things.

Some reasons that I know of why the marines use the cobra and Huey is because a lot of the parts are interchangeable and the size, we could fit quite a few inside the hanger bays in the LHDs and As.

Just helping out that TH-cam algo, HLC. Keep on keepin' on bro!
oh FUCK YES finally, I've requested this on every video in this series since it started. Thanks for this broski.
They are approaching 60 years in the USMC.
was that you firing off rounds this morning? Freaking woke me up shaking my house. Damn it! I need my beauty sleep! Keep those arty cannons quiet until at least 10 am.

I think getting rid of Maduro is the wet dream of the CIA.
I remember a while ago, some Venezuelans being like, "if US gets Maduro out, we'll build that wall for them"
If we get rid of him, then we'll have to give administrative duties to someone else. We'd very much like to limit our time in other countries again.

Well-done HLC! Definitely could feel the new more animated and less redundant approach. Humor was awesome too. Keep going!
Apache has more armour than the viper. Think of it like heavy vs light cav, apache can come in with direct fire and not worry about much hurting it.
