That was very enjoyable! I’m glad you just kept on the flat- it looked so cold for the band playing! And I liked the artificial snow. So much to see and do because the market was there. And it felt very Christmassy in the Priory. Keep warm in this bitter weather!
Thank you Diana! Yes, it was a wonderful atmosphere here. The town is splendid, and the station here is my favourite, as are the hills. Like Elgar, I always seem to be drawn back here. Take care, Paul
Put the sprouts on, it really is Christmas. I am glad you were doing this as an early festive film, so you were able to show & listen to that rather marvelous band. Malvern looks to be a super place, looking forward to more from there.
Thank you Faith! Yes, Malvern is a really lovely town with much character as well as the backdrop of the glorious hills. Thanks so much, Take care, Paul
Greetings froma very cold and snowy Poland. Minus 6 degrees this Saturday morning. In my opinion, one of your very best town visit videos. A really vibrant place, full of flourishing shops and town centre. The station was very impressive following its upgrade. What a superb "gateway" to the town of Great Malvern and Barnards Green. A real Christmas feeling about the place. You can't beat a brass band and snow! The Priory Church and its handbell ringers was packed. I hope not too much for you. Congratulations on another superb video, beautifully filmed, excellent commentary and photographs. Good choices of music too.
Thank you Michael As I write this I am waiting for a Santa Steam train special! It is -3 Deg C so a bit warmer than where you are. It looks very festive where I currently am. Coming soon. Stay warm and safe. Take care, Paul 🙂👍
I agree, the Great Malvern station is a gem and the town has a pleasing aspect, nestling under the hills. It's the hills I always head for when visiting - and hope to again next year, after an absence of some years. I must also visit the Abbey and Priory Park which I have not fully explored. Thank's for a lovely video.
Thank you Malcolm! Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, I adore the Malvern Hills and I love walking on them, but the town is well worth an explore. Good for shopping and browsing too. Cheers, Paul
What a lovely town Paul. I really enjoyed this video 🙂🎄🎶🏫 thank you! I must visit Great Malvern one day. Also I knew about the Morgan cars because of another channel I have started watching.. Country Life with Josephine .
Thanks Cathy! Yes, a relatively straightforward journey for you. Bus into Oxford, then train straight through to Great Malvern. It is well worth a visit - beautiful town, gorgeous hills and countryside. Glad you enjoyed my first Christmas video 🎅❄️🌲More to come! Take care, Paul
Thank you Louise! Yes, Malvern is a really lovely town - and there was a great Christmassey atmosphere here. Thanks for a lovely comment! Take care, Paul
Hi Paul, flourishing was just the right word and there was a lot of pride on show, especially in the station and bus shelter war memorial, great to see That bookshop looks fantastic I'm sure if I went in I would spend the rest of the day browsing!! I didn't know that Morgan cars were based nearby, it's curious because I brought a small book detailing some of the lesser known secrets in Granada one of them was the Hurtan cars, which are exclusive hand made sports cars similar to the Morgan, in fact some of parts like the fuel cap are supplied by Morgan. I must don my tweed jacket hat and gloves and pretend I'm rich and give them a visit!! I'm glad you were able to find some space amongst the thronging clouds. Have a great weekend!!
Thank you David! I am hoping to do a video of a tour of the Morgan factory at some point. All hand made! Yes, the bookshop there is amazing! The town is very well catered for with bookshops - always a good thing! Wow - that's amazing to know about Hurtan cars and the parts supplied by Morgan in Malvern. Hope you are having a good weekend too. Take care, Paul
@@westcountrywanderings A visit to the Morgan cars factory would be amazing, I really hope you get to go. Not quite a Morgan but I was the proud owner of a Triumph Spitfire for a while. I was under it every weekend!! Lots of great memories. The internet is a funny place, one of the channels I follow is Rusty Beauties, dedicated to the maintenance and restoration of Triumph sports cars. It's run by a chap called Elin Yakov who was originally from Bulgaria but is now a Canadian citizen. Can't see me with a Morgan or a Hurtan, now a Triumph Vitesse, well maybe!! But maybe I'll have to settle for that abandoned Cortina that I found a few weeks ago, you will see some photos. High up we've had some snow and it's decidedly cold. Have a great Sunday
Nice one Paul. Another of your beautifully filmed Christmas specials. You really catch the atmosphere of the place. Lovely to watch. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Yes, I really enjoyed my day here - it was a lovely atmosphere and just long enough for me not to be overwhelmed. Malvern is good because there are plenty of green spaces around the town centre. The town looked lovely. Thanks so much! Take care, Paul 👍🙂
Just after I watched this one a video popped up from Mark Felton its about warships buried under a park in Dartmouth. I think both you and Michael in particular will find it interesting
Hello Paul! This was a lovely tour of Malvern and seeing some of the Christmas decorations. Love the Narnia decoration on the post box. It was awesome hearing the live band and seeing people shopping. It's kind of fun when things take a different direction from what was intended. Hope you have a great weekend.
Thank you Donna! Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, it was a really lovely atmosphere here. I was planning for a little quiet explore, but it was a bit busier than that! It felt very Christmassy though - and I got some Christmas Present shopping done too! Hope you are having a good weekend as well Donna. Take care, Paul
The music and the hustle and bustle by the stalls. All so Christmassy. Just missing the snow. Well, the real thing that is. Lovely walk around town Paul. Those classic cars are a treat to see looking so grand and well loved. The church was lovely. Like hearing the rustling of coats and whispering voices of the visitors. The bell ladies were lovely. . Thanks for sharing this lovely Christmassy video Paul. Totally befitting the time of year. 🎄🎶👌🇳🇱🙋♀🇳🇿
Thank you Anita! Glad you enjoyed my first Christmas video of this season. It was a total surprise to see the event going on - I really had no idea in advance! Happenstance! Hope you and your family have an amazing Christmas! Take care, Paul
Thank you Paul for another wonderful video. I've enjoyed this so much that I'm going to replay it later on in the day. I never heard of Malvern while living in England so this was a real treat for me. It looks like another place that I would like to have visited. The bookshop would be a definite must for me as I love to read and can easily get lost amongst the shelves of books whether in a library or bookshop. The antique cars were fabulous and I certainly would have enjoyed a spin around town in the blue one. The footage of the priory was quite lovely and especially with the music playing during that portion of filming. I'll look forward to seeing another video of Malvern when you return at a later date. I can totally relate to what you were saying about the busyness being a bit much. Due to anxiety related issues I can appreciate wanting to visit a place in quieter moments. Still, your video is thoroughly enjoyable and I'm going to view it again later on. Many thanks to you and may the rest of your day across the pond be filled with good cheer. Suzie
Thank you Suzie! Yes the Malvern Hills and the town of Malvern is my top favourite place in the entirety of the region that I cover here on TH-cam. I personally prefer it to the coastline of Devon & Cornwall and the moors, but I do like them all. However, there is something about this area that, for me, pushes it into the exceptional zone. I have done four videos now about walking along the tops of the range of hills here - the views on a clear day are exceptional. I feel very fortunate to have it within an hour's drive, or an hour & a half's train journey away from where I live in Gloucestershire. I can spend hours in that bookshop - it is brilliant! Thanks again, Paul
You're so fortunate to live in such a scenic area Paul. I can see from the video why it would be your favorite area to spend time in. Thank you so much for sharing the beautiful view with us here on TH-cam. I very much enjoyed watching and must filter through your other videos when time allows for me to do so. I'm just about to settle down for the night here and I will quickly take a look at another video before lights out. Have a wonderful day in Gloucestershire. Suzie
Yes I did enjoy that, Paul, what a lovely place!
Well worth an explore Michael if you are ever in the area.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Cheers,
Paul
The live Band playing Christmas music in the town was icing on the cake. Very pleasing. Thank you so much Paul.👍
Thank you Daryl!
Glad you enjoyed my first Christmas video of the season.

PS - I may do a tour of the Morgan Car factory one day. It is very 'old school' no robots there! All handmade.
Ah, what a nice video Paul. I really enjoyed it and it was lovely to see autumn colours mixed with Christmasyness too.
Thank you Louise!

Yes, I did see something about that in Dartmouth Museum when I was living there - it is fascinating.
I will look out for that - thank you!
Thank you for this lovely video of the town where I grew up. I left almost sixty years ago. Much has changed, but much is still the same.
Thank you!
I really like Malvern - holds special memories for me.
Glad you enjoyed the video!
