You don't even have to empty the vat for cleaning. I just stick a failed print in the corner of the vat, hit the cleaning button, and use the failed print as a handle to peel it off.
Thank you for the review! I am torn between the mars 5 ultra and this Mono m5s pro. Could you help me by answering this, do you have to print at the 0.1mm thickness on fast print or can you choose a slower print and mm such as 0.5mm or even lower?
hey, Thanks for the great review! I'm still new to 3D printing and have been considering for some time whether (and which) resin printer I should buy. I've been wavering between the Elegoo Saturn 3 Ultra 12K and the Anycubic Photon Mono M5s Pro and I can't make up my mind. The most important issue is the odour. We are an office with a shop and I want to install the printer one floor down by the window (just a staircase, there's no door or anything). Which one can I use better without being unable to work on the PC? So how well do the air filters work? You can also connect a larger extraction station to the Elegoo Saturn 3 Ultra 12K if the two small filters are not sufficient. Is this also possible with the Anycubic? Or is it necessary?
When a printer's cover is closed there is not much odour escaping but the best printer here would be the Saturn 3 Ultra as it can support two air filters however if you are putting it next to an open window, it could be better to get the M5s Pro because of the heater, really depends on how cold your printer will get if it is exposed to wind. Unfortunately, the M5s Pro does not support extraction fans, you would have to cut through the acrylic cover. If you keep your printer in a non-occupied area it is not that necessary.
I like my mono 4k, I never level it, never clean the build plate, nothing! Just rip off the print put it back and print again the next week. Never a single failure after 30 prints, and I don't even use most of the supports it recommends. A+ so far. Thinking of upgrading if all of this fancy stuff is any good, I almost don't trust the added features to be as good as what I have.
@adrianvalverde1636 the down side is curing and cleaning. You need gloves and a good mask, and it's easy to make a mess or cure resin by accident. So it's not all good. But the quality and surface finish are really nice.
Hello, could you help me please, I am looking at these machines for dental laboratory use, which one would you recommend, if they are compatible with Chitubox. 1- Anycubic Photon D2. 2- Anycubic Photon M5S Pro 14k. 3- Anycubic Photon M5S 12K. 4-Saturn 3 Ultra 12K Elegoo. 5-Mars 4 Max 6K Elegoo. Those are the ones I've seen or which one would be better. Please help. Greetings and thanks.
Generally, we would recommend the highest resolution for dental applications but I would also take a look at which resins you are using and how well they perform on these printers. But I wouldn't recommend the D2 or the Mars 4 Max, the resolution is just too low. Chitubox Basic 2.0 now has recommended settings for certain printers with certain resins, I would give that a check and try slicing them with it, I heard the conversion process to an Anycubic format can be quite slow in which case it might be less irritating to use an Elegoo printer or another brand.

I wish companies had the flip-up lids that others are starting to use. some of the features are interesting. might have to check it out when I finally upgrade.
Thanks for your review! I bought this printer and it comes with 4 bottles of high-speed resin. You say that the recommended settings for it are 0.05 mm layer height.. I would like to achieve printing at a layer height of 0.01mm (10 microns). Theoretically, this is possible. But is it possible to achieve this with high-speed resin? Can I lower the printing speed? If not, which resin would you recommend for a 10-microns layer?
It should totally be possible with a high speed resin. The only major thing you would need to change is the exposure times, they would need to be lowered. Changing the lift/retract speed shouldn't be an absolute necessity, I would try a test with just exposure time reduction and see how it goes.
How noisy is this printer? I have Mono SE which is great but I was thinking about replacement. Unfortunately other printers (for example Anycubic 6k) are much louder.
un gran avance lo del calentador, se han dado cuenta de la necesidad que tenemos en climas fríos para poder imprimir con calidad, en gerneral parece una gran maquina
saturn3ultra looks better, Linux OS and the ips screen is nice. but featurewise this m5spro is way better. elegoo needs to come up with saturn3ultrapro
I’m returning mine. Build plate came warped, they aren’t offered anywhere, and support won’t get back to me until the 17th due to the holiday. Three weeks, not one success.
Would this be a good first resin printer to someone w 3+ years of fdm printing experience, now has a p1s and wants to get into resin printing for high detail stuff w minimal hassle?
Has better resolution but mighty 8k uses a different lighting method that gives it over 90% light uniformity vs up to 85% on the m5s pro, this makes the pixels sharper and makes light over the entire screen more uniform, so it's better for mass printing where quality doesn't drop if you put things at the edge of the screen.
How is the print quality compared to the Saturn 3 Ultra? I know it is a difficult comparison as it would require the same ACF film & temperature to have a 100% realistic comparison, but I would like to have your opinion. Thanks!
I'm legit thinking of getting this as my first printer, but maybe you can answer some questions. Can you pause the printer mid print? (to top off resin) Does this printer have anti aliasing? And is there a better printer out there that has a decent build volume and under 25 micron resolution?
If I understand correctly the printer warns you in advance if you do not have enough resin (to start). It has resin detection too. Mind you I am still waiting for mine so this is just from other reviews. The vat is quite large too. Replenishing mid print also is possible and the printer will even stop for you and tell you to add more. As for your other question I will have to pass on the answer.
You don't even have to empty the vat for cleaning. I just stick a failed print in the corner of the vat, hit the cleaning button, and use the failed print as a handle to peel it off.
oh that's a cool idea, I gotta try that!
thats what I do
I have left in there for months and a stir and vat clean and it’s good to go again.
every resin printer has this cleaning feature.
simply do a lamp test, for that the lcd is off and all the light goes to the vat.
Im stoked. Just upgraded to the m5s pro from my mono x 4k . Bigger, more detailed, quicker if I want to spend the money on fast resin.

Do you mean 0.05? or 0.5? You can print at 0.5 or lower but it will be slower so the 150mm/h speed wouldn't be possible under 0.1

What sort of muppet would remove the vat when the build plate is still attached and dripping? Ohhh.... you would!
I'll support your idea with "Dave" 😅
never showed it action. 'great review'
Q: Would this be a good 1st 3d printer for a teenager who is very smart!
I wouldn't really recommend a resin printer for children. An FDM printer would be better but even then only with appropriate supervision.

im so frustrated with my ender3 dude, i hate leveling it every fucking print. Hows life on the resin side?

Is the "Air Mate" (Purifier) removable and do I have to charge it. Or does he get power from the printer? Thanks 😊
It has a leveling screw set, they are hidden under stickers on the side of the head. I had to level my "self leveling" M5s...

It's relatively quiet, honestly, I have never questioned if it is too loud. Pretty similar to most resin printers.
anycubic dave would be a awesome name hahahaha
How effective is the air filter at removing any smell?
I haven't noticed much difference between it and competing printers
you will have to vent out resin air either way
Many thanks for the details. Could you please share the link for the bottle funnel? Many thanks!

Not really that familiar with Turkish jewellery but I would think so. In terms of resolution it is better yes.

quick question, does the m5s pro and the m5s use the same vats? figured i would ask someone who has the unit in front of them lol
I have the Pro in front of me but actually not the non-pro so I'll get back to you on that but I think it is the same.
