    Great informative video. Good to see the pros and cons and not just a dealer video sugar coating it.

    I agree with most everything you are saying, I think it’s more about the cost relevant to the annoying little things if it was a cheaper boat you could accept some of the things.
    I put a 75mm high guard around the bilge area that just sits in there stops fish and crap from sliding down into the bilge
    Yep hot in the cab even down south so I sold my 2050 and ended up with a 1850 fisher ,more air and you can put the clears on if the weather turns foul and even with no cab it’s still lists into the wind and needs trim tabs
    Good honest video mate well done

    • @WildHuntFishing
      @WildHuntFishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Love the bilge idea, The fisher with clears sounds the part. Their a solid boat but for the price you'd expect a bit more I reckon. Chased a price for the latest model and think I'll stick with this one. Did you put tabs on the fisher?

      I might yet ,I’m handy with the TIG so I would probably do the mounts myself, like I said I really haven’t tested it out yet NEW 2 months ago and the missus has been crook so I’ve only been out once in it
      Cheers fro now @@WildHuntFishing

    Hi mate I have the 2050 pulled out the rope out of the anchor well after watching this and shore enough there was corrosion deep into the hole plate just as well it has. Up grade 6 mm will coat the area with rubber paint product, fitted zip wakes much better than trim tabs fixes automatically any roll in any condition

    • @WildHuntFishing
      @WildHuntFishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm glad this helped you on that mate. If you're on Facebook their is a group called stabicraft fanpage and their is alot of info on what people have done to slow the corrosion down. I like the zipwakes most people speak highly off them. I'm still deciding whether to go traditional tabs or zippys as their is quite a cost difference with zippys and traditional tabs are pretty indestructible. Auto tabs would be handy for family and friends that like jumping around for sure. I'm happy to save $1500 to press a button though and spend it on something else too. Cheers for commenting mate and hopefully this helps a few more people.

      @@WildHuntFishing thanks mate this is my second stabicraft had a 559 was a great boat no trim tabs required but did find because of the cab you would get a bit of a lean with cross wind not drastic though Could line the anchor well with a deck foam and make up a cage to keep rope off the bottom I give it’s some thought but thanks for the tip would eventually had a hole 🕳️

    Great honest review.. I was keen on a 1850 Supercab but the price in 2023 after extras above $140,000. Have ordered a BC 615HT instead. It’s always a compromise of sorts but really appreciate your honest review, most reviews are marketing pitches. 👍

      Hey Dan, that's a hard question to answer. Im enjoying the Boat and hope to add on a few extras to make it better riding in all conditions. I would have to hunt around and see what's out there before I brought another one due to the after sales service.

      Great review..honest and on point..I live 3 km from the stabi factory..original owner has sold the company to a large Auckland boat dealer..this is possibly where the contact/warranty issues come from..as Auckland is at the other end of the country..just a thought
      Everyone considering buying a new stabi needs more content from current owners to help with the decision process of buying a boat..well done..keep up the vids..including your subscribers content as well

  • @airbats801
    @airbats801 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    have a 2021 1450 and 1550. they screwed my 1450 up big time from the factory and almost 2 years later it's still not complete. Support from them is a joke, even when they screw it up.
    my 1550 frontier takes forever to fill up the tank. after about 10 gallons, the second 10 gallons you have to just barely let any in otherwise it bubbles up the fill neck. Piss poor design. Same issue with bolt isolation as you mentioned. the 1550 is under powered with any gear on it with a yamaha 70.
    I wish the gunnels were taller as well. At the end of the day, nobody really does a small open boat like the old 1550 frontier. Tons of features. The new ones are basically a cheap down 1450. I doubt I'd buy another stabicraft if I went to a bigger boat honestly.
    The aluminum is cheap quality as well. Definitely corrosion issues. I've got a old plate boat from the 80s that has less corrosion going then my 2 year old stabi.
    The 1450 sportfish I have is decent. I dont like the self bailing deck. it basically makes for a wet floor all the time, and the scuppers dont work that great. There is also no mounting for a main battery,
    Eva flooring is nice though. Great in the hot summer.

    • @WildHuntFishing
      @WildHuntFishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to hear about your problems with the boat!
      It seems to be a recurring story with fuel tank filling, I haven't experienced it other than fuel squirting out the breathers when full, but I have seen it mentioned on stabis fanpage on Facebook a lot.
      The alluminum does seem to be alot more sensitive and the isolation is poor. The other day I removed a rod holder and was surprised there was no sealant beneath and some corrosion had started.
      I'm still dealing with stabi and my dealer trying to get small problems fixed but at this rate the warranty will be finished.
      Best of luck and hopefully things get resolved promptly.

    There are many boats I would buy before a Stabicraft. Actually honest review, better than the clowns at The Captain constantly promoting these overpriced NZ boats. Times changing and Stabicraft Auckland already closed its doors, and many staff lost their jobs. The industry needs another good shake up that's for sure.
