Mate, great comparison, always ran navionics got a new tub and trialling Cmap, I find it shows fuc* all, some areas it doesnt even have contour lines or large amounts of ground that was present on Navionics
Where's the rest of the video motor pull down ,the problem , the result ,????
Sorry mate I haven't gotten around to the other video ended up really long and shitty but the results and the temporary fix are on this : th-cam.com/video/UDbTp--5CPU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=xvn9IyLZBeIvwLaj
I'm not sure what you paid for that probe but it is worth every cent if you make a point of doing a frequent test to make sure everything is staying the same. Very cheap insurance. What was the fish?
@@DCA001TUBE hey buddy I payed $191 for it, I'm going to do it at 50hrs I reckon. Im putting a small anode on to see if makes much of a difference. The fish was a bluebone . Thanks for commenting.👍

Great vid, thanks mate. Just wondering how you've found this out on the water, one year on? Do you find it easy to leave assembled then install out on the water? Am debating getting one but don't want to have to take the shade cloth on/off each time
@@ArcticMonkey22ee3r Hey buddy, I put it on when I get to my fishing spots and take off when ready to go home. Its pretty secure travelling with it on the water but haven't tried it on the road.
@@WildHuntFishing thanks heaps for getting back to me! I was thinking I'd do the same, just put it up when at my spot. Hoping it's a pretty quick install when you're out on the water? Thanks again for the info and great vid
@ArcticMonkey22ee3r Takes about 2 minutes, have left the poles extended out to the exact length, saves a bit of time and marked the length with a pen so if you have to adjust them you know how far they gave to go.

@@jeremyjimenez282 Thanks for the kind words.
Great video mate I just ordered the navionics after watching your video and being on the fence about which one to get for weeks. Do you have to have an upto date navionics subscription in order to keep the bathymetrics? Cheers
@@Gary1263 Thanks for the kind words mate. From what I've been told once your subscription expires you will no longer be able to update but you won't loose the bathymetric. When you receive the card you'll have too update it with either the bathymetrics or photo overlay because it doesn't come pre loaded.
Cheers for that

Could you provide measurements of where to drill? That’s way, I can repair my machine without the need to spend four hours stripping it down. Your holes are obviously perfectly placed but it’s hard to take measurements from the video. 😊

If you or a mate have a flux core welder try building up some material and then grind down to fit. Could use stick or tig, but flux core would be easiest.
Could use JB Weld. I fixed a leaky garbage disposal ~3 years ago with JB Weld and it's still holding.
@@DryUrEyesM8 Hey mate thanks for commenting! I was wondering if you weld the shaft where it's worn do Think you cut the groove with a hacksaw for the e clip?
@@DryUrEyesM8 That stuff is tough I would be interested to see it holds up! I had another idea to cut the groove deeper and run a smaller e clip ? Seems like soft material for stainless to wear like that must have a fair amount of pressure on it.
I use titanium nuts with loctite red
Wouldn't be fun to get that off if you break an axle.
@@MiGG_Aus Sound's heavy duty 👍
@@HelenKellerDenier I reckon, hopefully won't happen.
@@WildHuntFishing It's really not..
There are many boats I would buy before a Stabicraft. Actually honest review, better than the clowns at The Captain constantly promoting these overpriced NZ boats. Times changing and Stabicraft Auckland already closed its doors, and many staff lost their jobs. The industry needs another good shake up that's for sure.

Cheers for the video think this is a good lesson for anyone with a alloy boat to go over everything with a fine tooth comb and check it all . And fix anything before it becomes a issue
100% thank you
Well did it work?
Yes & No. Worked for 1 trip and got bitten off the next trip.
Thank you
Gotta get rid of the blue lens cap. Otherwise great video.
Thanks buddy, I didn't realise till I watched the footage, got a few problems to iron out. That's the fun in learning. Thanks for the feedback
I think the single biggest issue with all the major boat manufacturers is that they commonly use minimum wage unskilled labour for the fit out component of the build so have a constant turn over of staff who never really get better at it. In regards to the dissimilar metals corrosion issue I don't think they give a rats, bedding and use of tef gel takes time and money and the results of not using it don't really turn up until after the warranty period or can be blamed on the owner not carrying out "preventative maintenance" whatever that means.
Hit the nail on the head.
Thanks for taking the time to do this mate, I have a 1450 Stabi on order and this confirmed my suspicions about the rod holders. I may even go to 130lb rated stainless holders but will definitely use the bedding method you have used. Did you use Sika to bed the backing plates as well? Thanks, John.
No worries, yes also sika on the backing plates.
How did you go about getting the old bolts out, mine have been tac welded
I used a rattle gun and some penetrant. That's sound like hard work buddy.
Who tf welded them on
Nice vid mate. I got a Dunbier trailer about 8 months ago, and have noticed my left side bearings/seals are spewing grease on the inside of my wheel. Obviously they are shot, but interesting to hear you also had issues on that side! I wonder if something is happening at Dunbier... Anyways, going to change all mine to oil bath hubs. Cant wait they did to my left side bearings...
I'm hearing you on that mate, I'm looking at changing to dura hubs after the next bearing change out also.
This fix still working? Installing an Ulterra on my 1850 and keen to hear your feedback.
Yes mate still going
Ive been using CT18 mate. Works an absolute treat. Can get 20L on sale for under 100 bucks.
I use the heavy duty on my boat and trailer, the shit never comes off. I have had it on my outboard for 3 years now, and some how the stuff hasnt move one bit. May attract shit and look yellowish, but at the end of the day i can wipe it off and everything is brand new under it. It is the shit!
80K new seems alright. 1850s second hand some of them, are over 100k!
To confirm tour saying the steel washes of easy with chemicals like salt wash/detergent. I`ve rang the rep and he said SS was harder to remove and dried out far better vs the HD vers..
I can confirm hd works way better on galv trailers! Steel seal was a waste of time.
@@WildHuntFishing Does the H/duty version take at least a few days to get even partially dry ???. The rep said it takes a while to get to 80-90% dry He said thats why for 4wd he recommends the SS product because it dries fully . . Q/ is the Steel Steal alot thinner vs HD ????
Hd is thicker with a slight yellow tinge, takes about a week to dry but still remains tacky. Bull dust and the like will stick to it and after a while it will be dry to the touch. If it's on a galv trailer it will look dull, but as soon as you clean it off it looks brand new. Ss Is thinner and a brown colour, dries in about a day and remains slightly tacky. After a week dry to the touch and leaves the galv slight yellow/brown. I use car wash and salt wash on the boat and the ss wore off easier and I had to keep reapplying used 5L in a year touching up where it came off. I have had a hd 5l drum for 2 years now just touching up with half left
For a 4wd as I've done my own is to spray on the hd and just drive bitumen roads for a week and then after the week drive down a dirt track and then you will have only a coat of fine dust stuck underneath. You will be right to hit the Beach after that. You don't want to spray it on and hit the beach immediately or you will have salty sand stuck underneath if that makes sense.
Other valuable info from rep was the SS version wicks between panel overlap and stands to reason its thinner . Disappointed it comes off easier just with hose pressure . Gal dip finish after 12mths most paints/ lanotec should stick to it . Lanotec is a reapply product . Even the USA branded products are difficult to acquire and HUGE dollars ,not much choice in ozzy . ---My own cars are early Ranger with very very thin underbody paint . Ford do crappy paint jobs ,,well known with the F trucks . I repainted front apron panel at 70,oookm and various underbody parts powder coated . The chassis has transparent paint ---The later Toyota is far better from the factory Both need doing
