It means alot you listened to this one. This was one of my best friends favorite songs right before he was killed in a car accident at 20 years old almost 8 years ago. We had a memorial show for him and his band played this as a tribute to him and I still get a little emotional when I hear this song. I know he would love how much people enjoy this as much as he did. Cheers my friend.

That's a painful thing to deal with. Lost my best friend 22 years ago, the song "The Great Below" by Nine Inch Nails is still a hard song to listen to since his death by car accident a block from his house. He was only 19. His parents heard the collision he was tboned and died instantly according to the coroner.
Trivium is totally underrated and doesn't get the recognition they deserve. An amazing band. They're always changing, but not enough to alienate old fans.

As someone suffering from anxiety attacks and existential crisis a lot of the time, anxiety can actually tell you that you're creating a better world by killing yourself, because you feel like a horrible person without anything positive to contribute. Alternatively, it could be for the lack of purpose in this fucked up world. People will get over it and move forward and eventually die aswell and I simply don't see any reason why my early death would make any impact whatsoever from a bigger perspective.

Ironically it was my most toxic ex that really drove the point home when I was self harming and suicidal by saying "Every time you cut yourself Im going to" which made me think 'she might be meaning it literally, but how would my parents, my brother, my friends feel inside?' I know its seen as a guilt trip but I prefer to see it as an eye opener. Still suffer from anxiety and depression but never even contemplated self harm or suicide in 10 years

Shogum is freakin insane. I still think Into the Mouth of Hell We March is the best from that album though. Just the best balance of talent and their songwriting imo. Shogun is just nuts though

So I discovered your channel like a week or so ago and went through most of your videos then. Sometimes I still can't decide whether your making some of the reactions up or you are one of the few people left who still have that little kid inside them that can still enjoy everything for what it is. x Thundr Trivium is one of my absolute favorite bands I've seen them 4 times and anything off of silence in the snow is pretty bad. Even they themselves said they were holding back.

I'm stoked for your first show man! Trivium is great live and this was a perfect song to get to know because it's definitely a highlight of their set. It will probably be their last song but everyone will be singing along! Be sure to talk to people man like I told you in your first stream, the metal community is a family. In waves is flippin' dope! I don't get why more people don't appreciate this period of their career. In terms of songwriting they were on their game and I feel they had the most identifiable identity during this time. Kind of would've lobbed them together with Killswitch etc. based on this, but as if that was a bad thing! I also like how Corey's screams started to factor in more on their album sound and using all of their voices in general. Just full and tasteful.

Jason Griffin Strife is honestly a song he doesn't need to hear if he hears In Waves, it's a very bland song. The entire album is pretty bland, as a huge fan Vengeance Falls was such a let down. I prefer In Waves to it. He needs to hear Shogun, it's the pinnacle of their songwriting

I have been playing there music a lot lately because I love what they do in there songs that I can relate to and enjoy on the daily! Such good musicians! I'm glad I discovered them when I did because at that time I was looking for a band I can listen to and just love the musicianship and hard work it took to make the song glad you can see that too Alex! Trust me there will always been more songs that will sweep you off your feet dude!

Trivium is so legit dude you nail why they are so special, and they've made so many transitions and have made dozens of super memorable songs and hooks. Cant say enough good things about these guys.
Hope you enjoy the show! Matt gets the crowd to do something really fun when they play this song. I won't spoil it for you though. Built to Fall is another video off on this album. The video shares similar themes as this and is a continuation as well. One of my all time favorite Trivium songs. I actually blew my voice out singing along the last time I went to see them.

I remember when my uncle showed me this song in the middle of a family reunion since we're the only two who enjoy rock and metal, then I actually recently listened to it again and LOVED it. Wish I could go go that concert, man. But I so happen to live in the Dallas area instead XD
That fusion of screaming and singing is a subgenre of heavy metal called Metalcore if you like this genre some other bands you may like are As I Lay Dying, Atreyu, Parkway Drive, Killswitch Engage, August Burns Red, all that remains, and bullet for my valentine

Metalcore is carachterized more by it's use of breakdowns combined with gothemburg-y riffs

And it's even possible to add more like Avenged Sevenfold (some songs), Asking Alexandria, Phinehas, Helia, FFDP, While She Sleeps, Sonic Syndicate, Miss May I.... and lots more :) still, this combination of clean vocal and screaming is just awesome and its most known from Metalcore, I could agree with that :)
