    I have a Honda shadow 750 that was my first bike and I will always have that bike. I recently purchased a Vulcan 900 that has a bigger frame for when my wife rides to up with me, but the Honda always has a special place in my heart.

      Thanks for this comment. I absolutely agree, and honestly, the only reason I would need anything bigger is for that exact same reason. Riding two up with my bride!!!

      @@meandmyshadow7839 we rode two up on the shadow a few times but I felt pushed forward. On the Vulcan it is ample amount of room between us almost to much room she seems far back form me

    1 motorcycle in the garage would be tough for most people. I would have to go with the 500-750cc cruiser bike. Tim, good to see you again on the video screen, and, look to be doing ok! Hope your summer is going along nicely so far! Doug ⭐⭐⭐🏍️🤓😎🐻

    Man, I worked 3rds for YEARS. No matter how hard you try to enjoy the days off...it was usually by myself for most of it or I was dogsht tired...lol. I've done 4/10s for about 15 years now, 0630-1700 (5pm) Tuesday through Friday working on attack/fighter jets (A-10s and now F-16s)...living the dream. Like I said last video, I sadly sold my 750 Aero to keep my Triumph Tbird 1700 muscle cruiser. I drive 30 miles to work and some of it's on 70mph freeway and it just felt better on the Tbird. Heading to work just became a commute, so on the freeway I'll bump up to 80-85ish just to get to my destination. It's around 0530 so it's dark and not much to see anyway. Usually on the my home I'll cruise easier. Weekends I'll hop on and do the putzing around the country roads at or below the speed limits and enjoy the ride more.

      The shift would not be so bad if I didn't have a life that revolves around normal hours. That T bird of yours is an excellent bike. It sounds like it suits your needs just fine. Excellent comment man!!!!

    I drove a semi for a freight company at night for 23 years. When I retired it sure was easier to adapt to day time living. I told people I was going to mow my lawn at 3 a. m. So they could see how much it bothered me when they did theirs at 3 p. m. Lol

      Lmao!!! The lawn mowing thing I totally get!!! I believe that I'm really going to love being a daytime worker again.

    I'm too much of a packrat. I still have the bike I had when I was 16. I basically keep what I like. I've had 10 bikes. I have 4 now: 85 v65 magna, 94 750Katana, 19 Scrambler 1200xc, 22 Katana. If I would keep 1 it would be the scrambler. It's good in traffic and has cruise control for the highway.

    • @meandmyshadow7839
      @meandmyshadow7839  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Plus, the scrambler has enough power for what you need, and like you said, it's pretty nimble.

    Better choice of helmet then that German helmet you had on last video

      Lol, thanks, man. I will be using the half helmet from time to time, but most of that won't be video.

    I couldnt have only one. You need one for long distance and passangers and one that is small and fast for the city.

      I completely understand, and I agree with you. What you are describing is the perfect scenario, in my opinion.

    I feel that way working the continental night shift(wasting the day away), on the days i work, especially during the summer, i sleep from 7am-1:30pm the latest!!
    Being a rider that enjoys the cruiser, i dont want to go off roading or ADV, Id stay with my vt1100 or even a 1300, nimble enough to manuvuer(pardon my grammar) through town but powerful enough to cruiser at a comfortable speed. plus being a japanese bike, the cost of the reliability will pay for itself.

      Man, I'm telling you that I sleep the same and really dislike it. I also appreciate your point of view on cruisers and the Japanese brand.

    I’m a one bike pony. I can barely afford her.I have worked schedules like you before. I wouldn’t mind a commuter bike.something like a naked bike.
    So hopefully I could have a backup bike.if one of them was down for maintenance.
    I want to enter a raffle for a giveaway 1980 shovelhead.
    Why I have one motorcycle is definitely. monetary thing .

      I as well, but I would like to have two as well. Something a bit bigger for two up riding and a bit more power.

      Awesome!!! I'm in front half receiving for Amazon. We only do exclusively shoes at my site. I'm really looking forward to having normal hours during the days. I could have worked a Monday and Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday shift with Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday off. But declined that for the 3 days off in a row.

    If Honda did a modern Magna V4 the Shadow would be gone in a heartbeat and I'd break my bank getting one.....
    Blackout your bedroom if struggling to sleep days. No light gets in.
    Some of us ride cruisers not just for the comfort but cause we have that nature that can't trust ourselves on a supersport 😅.
    My shadow does the job, progressive suspension would help with our 💩 roads but if to say a second bike it would be a lightweight adventure "vstrom 650" to handle the bumps and carry something instead of nothing capabilities + the extra overtaking punch would be sweet.

    • @meandmyshadow7839
      @meandmyshadow7839  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I just prefer sleeping nights and having the same schedule that my family is on. I have really considered the klr 650 for adventure riding but I'm not sure how much of that I would actually do to justify the cost. I think I'm more of a distance and two up rider. Whatever style of riding you do is fine, just a personal choice.

  • @dracphelan
    @dracphelan 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I love my Shadow Aero. But, I am seriously considering how I would turn it into a quasi scrambler. I would need to raise the suspension a little bit and find dual sport tires that would fit it. And, that would give me the one bike for everything I do on a bike.

    • @meandmyshadow7839
      @meandmyshadow7839  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Man, that would actually be really cool. I don't think I have ever seen that . Sounds like some work but doable.

    I like to putt and don't like surprises that come with speed , had a few bikes that had grunt but still was slow to medium rider . My Shadow is plenty bike for my needs .

    • @meandmyshadow7839
      @meandmyshadow7839  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree with you. I still have a want for a bit more power and displacement, but that's really only for two up riding. Other than that, the 750 suits my riding just fine.

      @meandmyshadow7839  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, group rides, for me anyway, just don't seem that enjoyable. I would do one for a meet and greet for the channel. However, as a consistent thing, I don't think so.
