Great video guys! I have played Callaway drivers for years. Currently play the Rogue ST Max and it will be difficult, near impossible for me to make a switch. However, I really like the clean look to this model...May need to give it a try.
Wondering if anyone could help out with an equipment question. I recently bought a set of preowned p-790s for an amazing price… once I took them out, I am CONSISTENTLY hitting every shot off the toe. Not an issue I was having at all with my set I had before. Does anyone know if this could be due to lie angle being too upright or flat? I also had midsize grips on my old clubs and these have standard. Could that affect the strike point? Thanks for any help!
I only know enough to be dangerous but I would bring your old clubs and the P 790’s and compare lie, loft, length and swingweight. Some or all could be different. For example, swingweight could be higher with a smaller grip etc. Hope that helps.
@@pipedown7969 definitely compare and check your lie angle against your old clubs. Also, look at your divot pattern or go to a local club-fitter. and they can get you fitted properly.
Not sure what to take from this demo. Unless I am mistaken, Ian hits it farther than 290 with his gamer and several drivers from lat year. Only caveat is indoors vs. outdoors.
Forged Carbon is cheaper to make but weaker than woven carbon, so is it used to increase profits rather than club head improvement? To increase sales...but if the world does what im doing and loading up on current balls so i got enough to last me 7yrs , we can defeat the billion dollar manufactures that cjharge us 800 bucks for a driver that costs tjem 12 dollars to make
I broke my Stealth plus face 2 years ago, TM sent me Stealth plus 2 (garbage in my hands), put my original Sim 10.5 in my Autoflex and game over. Still one of the best TM heads produced, that and the "good year" M2. No need to spend 7 bills chasing 1/2 yard.
@@scottyeaman8377Probably nobody. There’s an ignorant narrative being disseminated that all drivers are the same the last 5 years. Nothing could be further from the truth, even though I’m a guy who typically goes 3-4 years between drivers. My TSR3 is the best launching driver I’ve ever owned. It’s miles longer than my old SIM and it’s more forgiving. I’ve spent a round trying my son’s QI10 Max which was least 30 yards shorter than my TSR, mostly because it was too high launch conditions producing high, soft flights that landed like an 8 iron. While COR limits ball speed on flush impacts, launch conditions impacting actual carry and roll is more dependent on launch angle and spin. With modern drivers employing swappable head weights, a professional fitter can fine tune CG and MOI which will not only effect forgiveness on off-center strikes, it will effect the launch angle and spin rate defining flight, shape and workability of today’s drivers. The ability for a professional fitter to tune an ideal driver to a given golfer has never been better. Of course one could argue the myriad of loft, lie, CG and MOI adjustments is also more dangerous as the diy guy is more likely to completely f-up the settings on a perfectly suitable driver into one that produces undesirable results. Certainly an argument for old drivers with limited-no adjustments or maybe oem’s should consider offering a base high MOI ‘neutral’ model with fixed loft sleeve and non-adjustable head weights.

Callaway may see differences in their new product by using swinging robots. For us humans each swing is slightly different so we would not see much of a difference, especially at £569 to £599 per club. They have to recoup their R&D costs somehow and maintain profit margins. R&D says "what can we churn out this year". Let's revamp the Epic but put the Smoke face on it. Reshape it slightly and we can say we have better aero dynamics. Carbon crown to disguise it. The triple D however does look and sound different

That Triple Diamond didn't do much in Ian's hands to set itself apart from the regular model. With the added downside of LS duck hooks, I think that club is trash.
That seam transition on the crown is ugly. Wish they'd steer away from it. The tour pro's won't be using these retail heads anyways, there'll be 50 different iterations like usual that no one will have access to. Oh well.
