I don’t want to offend, it’s just that my husband has a 54 inch chest, and I’m a size 22(uk) and we’re a little worried about the seat sizes!

Are there any rides that we should avoid because you already know don’t accommodate larger people? Thxs so much(he’s only 13 and over 6ft)

      Isabella Cosby I’ve red that most rides if you have a 40” rides you may not fit. I’ve seen some people who have a 50” waste fit. All depends if you have a big butt and chest too. 6 ft depends on waist but like gringots is not friendly on tall people

      Bentley's Enigma There's plenty of other rides at a park. That would be their fault for travelling not knowing if their fatasses fit or not. You have to be morbidly obese not to fit the ride so it should be common sense to think if you're that huge it's a no-go.

    • @mrn234

      thats a problem when you design seats for attractions like that cause they need to fit ALL people. Here in germany in "Phantasialand" the coaster Black Mamba has in the back of the train 2 or 4 so called "big boy" seats (when i remember correctly)

    im skinny but i enjoyed this video, i hope the park designers would see this and start designing adjustable seats to accommodate all different body types including children who are traditionally too small for rides

    • @YannisGoedermans
      @YannisGoedermans 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When it comes to children is mainly has to do with the g forces the coaster pulls and even adjustable seats wouldn’t prevent black outs for those kids when it comes to positive g forces. Though I have to agree certain restraint systems are more forgiving than others. Others are just ridiculously narrow that it's even uncomfortable for a skinny person with well trained thighs. But I do think they could come up with seating arrangements for the larger guests that also works for normal bodied people so they don't have to assign larger guests to certain seats. But I have also noticed that newer coasters tend to have more narrow seats and getting into the rides is getting more of a hassle for everyone.

      @FireCracker3240 5 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      @@kittybug329 While that may be true, and people get that way on there own, why would you alienate a very particular customer base? In America, 69% of people are either overweight or obese. From a business stand point, even if you take in account the 34% of Americans who are just overweight, that's 111,000,000 people. That's a LOT of lost revenue. There is no reason to not to make new attractions include the majority of people. It's just logical.

      @@FireCracker3240 theme parks shouldn't cater to obese people. Your fact is invalid 111mil obese ain't all going to a theme park. Just think back on how many people u have seen in a theme park that's above 300+ maybe 10-20 a day ? Compared to thousands who actually fit a ride.

    Thank you for showing this. You would think they would make the ride vehicle for "Hagrid's Magical Creature Motorbike Adventure" able to accommodate Hagrid size folks! LOL!!! My hubby is a little larger around the mid section, but he is also 6'10' tall. So I highly doubt that he will ever get to ride this. :( He doesn't fit on ANY of the Harry Potter rides, poor guy. It makes me so sad. That is why we tend to go the Disney route since he fits on SOOOOOooooo many more rides at Disney parks vs. Universal.

    I waited about 4 hours alone yesterday and someone that was in line with me was turned away after waiting the 4 hours because he did not fit. He didn't even seem like a large person in my opinion. Even though I didn't know him it made me really angry that he had to wait 4 hours and was then turned away because he supposedly couldn't fit. But I'm very grateful to you and your video to show me. I think we need to petition them to add in some fat-friendly sized seats on each ride. A few years ago, after giving birth to one of my sons, I found myself unable to go on a ride for the very first time at Universal (The Hulk rollercoaster) and was so upset I left crying. The Dueling Dragons added larger restraints on certain seats for bigger people. I was really kind of pissed when I had to start using them ha ha. (but then lost weight). I was really glad to see the bigger seats, though.

    I attempted to ride the Pandora ride at Disney. If you're overweight or short this is not a ride for you. They actually gave me a card that states that I may not be able to ride it. I was very disappointed especially with the amount of time that I spent on the line. So,while the rest of my party my family was enjoying themselves, I had to go and wait in the waiting area.

  • @Altobunny61

    Thank you for the test seat demonstration! It's very helpful to see how it works. I know that team members are NOT allowed to push on the restraint for you, but if you have a friend with you that can to give you the green light, you can ride. I also follow PammiePlusParks, and she also endured the opening day queue. She hasn't posted her detailed video yet - it's expected some time this evening - but she live-streamed right after she left the ride and said that if she had had a friend with her to help, she could've gotten the green light. Unfortunately, she was there alone yesterday where she learned from the team members that they cannot push for the green light but a friend could have. She said she was very close, and she is 5'4" and 327 lbs. As I mentioned in my previous comment, I failed the test seat at the soft opening of Forbidden Journey because I was too chesty and had too much middle (I'm 5'5" and was 250-ish then). but was very close. Because I was pulled out of line to try the test seat, my husband wasn't there to help. I bet if he was, I would've been able to ride.

      I really sucked seeing people get turned away because of their size. I was almost getting emotional. I felt so bad seeing one big person not fit but then i get in the test seat right after them and get the green light. The look on their faces made me not want to celebrate being able to fit on the ride. I hope you get the chance to ride this coaster soon! Thanks for watching!

    Thanks for this video! Hagrid is my favorite character and I was planning a trip back to WWoHP just for this but was really nervous about doing all that only to be turned away. I'm 6'2" 301 and i get turned away at harry potter the ride, I dont fit and they refuse to help me get the green light so my kids do it for me but it's a struggle, most times I dont want to deal with it and they go by themselves. Great video.

    Great video thank you very much - it put my mind at ease especially considering Universal themselves stated a waist of 40" or above may have trouble getting on, obviously nonsense. I just returned from Universal. Thanks for the videos. I watched before going. Fortunately I was able to ride most of the rides, but Hagrids is one of the few that I could not. For perspective, I am 5'10" and 300 lbs. I lift, so while I carry extra weight on my stomach, I also have mass in my thighs and shoulders. My stomach was fine, but my thighs were too thick to get the arms down for a green light. I do not believe losing weight would help. If you have longer legs or thicker thighs it will likely prohibit you from riding. Interestingly I fit on Rip Ride Rockit, but not this one. Body type definitely has a lot of impact in the various rides.

    1. Thank you for doing this! It’s sooo very much needed. Keep making more like this!
    2. Ironic that Hagrid wouldn’t even be able to ride his own ride. I wonder if the actor would even be able to.
    3. Shame on Universal and other theme parks for not being more inclusive. They knew that this would be majorly popular. At minimum they could have added a few on each ride that were for larger guest. Heck even tall guests would have problems sitting in the sidecar! It wouldn’t have taken that much to add on an extra 1-3 bikes per coaster to accommodate those. They and others have done it plenty on other rides.

    • @crystalwarelk
      @crystalwarelk 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My wife and I (each around 250 lbs; she’s 5’6, I’m 5’8) generally fit much better on Disney rides. There are some exceptions of course.
      I also have a bad back and hips and I always have to make her ride something first to see how smooth or not a ride is. There are some that are absolutely horrendous! But others that seem so extreme in other regards are absolutely fine and wonderful because they don’t jerk you around. This might be something to consider adding to reviews if it is a smooth ride or very jerky.
      Last time we went to Disney I was easily able to ride mine cars twice but Thunder Mountain was pure hell!

      It might have compromised the overall experience of the ride, though. :/ There's a reason for everything in a coaster -- or anything manmade, for that matter. Sure, they might've been able to add extra-large seats, but then the coaster might have to be adjusted and would not have been the same exciting experience.

    As someone who just went to Universal last week, I would definitely say that this is true. My brother and I, who are both relatively thin (under 200 lbs), were able to ride Hagrid's Motorbike Adventure with no problem, but our dad, who is larger (he's close to 300 lbs and has a beer belly 😊), had difficulty fitting into the seats. Although he was finally able to get ithe light o flash green, he elected not to go on the ride. The same was true for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. Althogh my brother and I enjoy riding these rides, we came on vacation to experience the theme parks with dad. It would be nice if they had a couple thrill rides that could accommodate people with larger frames.

Its so embarrassing having to hold up the ride because the workers are trying to see if I fit and ultimately they lead me to the exit and said I couldn't ride it.

I was surprised that I could easily fit the bike, and was able to fit the side car with a little sucking in. I know it's not going to fit everybody but this coaster is far more fat person friendly than your typical coaster. I barely fit in mummy or forbidden forest, and several rides I don't fit in at all. To say this ride isn't fat friendly does it a great disservice. I applaud the hagrid coaster for being far more fat person friendly than lost coasters.

    I've been to universal pretty fat and super skinny ,the seats are just generally poorly designed for the most part lol. I don't understand why comfort doesn't seem to be taken into account at any of the rides at universal. I've been to disney fat and skinny and the vast majoirty of the rides not only fit easily but fellt good to sit in.
