- After my first art show, I am finally back in the studio! I took the time to relax and watch an apocalypse themed show (Fallout) (I really liked it!) so I think my mind has been thinking about it a lot and it seeped into my collage art junk journal! This is definitely the first of its kind in my collage art sketchbook, usually the pieces can be more abstract, but here I made apcalypse themed art.

LOVE how this spread turned out. The striped sky 😍😍😍
It's definitely a crazy option but I love it 😍 thanks!
fallout vibes
You can definitely see the influence 😜
This is a great way of dealing with scrap or spare pages. I love the having to cut up the striping to make it fit splits the sky. A cursory look at some of my work shows how growing up in the 80s affected and influenced my work. I had to find quite a few images of mushroom clouds
I love being able to reflect on where our influences come from! There's always something whether I mean to or not 😂
Wonderful! I always admire your seemingly innate ability to see and creatively use the “scraps” and pieces that are typically discarded! You’ve influenced how I see these pieces now! I still struggle to actually “use them” in my own collages, but I’m aware of their potential now. Thank you!
Yes, that balance of taking a break and creating daily is interesting. I enjoy collage and making miniatures, so I find myself naturally going between the two. Occasionally, I do both on the same day, but usually not. Working on each seems to inspire ideas for the other. If I spend a lot of time solely on one, I find myself longing to do the other. It’s a nice balance for me.
Thanks as always! Kathleen
I'm so glad I've inspired you 😄 they bring value of their own in making abstract collages. That said, now I end up saving so many scraps instead of throwing them out 😂 there's now no good way to "spring clean" my collection.
Balance is so important. ❤️ That's why I like to do talking TH-cam videos some weeks as I need a creative break. Collage is not the only thing in my life that requires creative power so I try to keep it balanced 😁
Love this end-of-the-world stuff.
Me too!!! I'm still inspired to make more.
OMG I wanna watch fallout so bad it looks like such a cool setting. Love the stripey sky
It was so good, glad they used such a large budget for good 😂 thank you!!
Great collages . There is definitely a balance between creating everyday and taking a break. I've had 3 week breaks in the past and found it harder to get started afterwards.
I agree! There's a sweet spot of not too often that you get burnt out but often enough that you're constantly improving and learning.
✨💖✨
"It's kinda weird. I like it!" - that's how you know it's god.
I agree 🤣
