Loved this video! Rauschenberg is endlessly fascinating. Fun fact: When Rauschenberg was broke and living in New York, he started collecting things on his walks (trash, metal, etc) to use in his artwork. He called them “combines” because they combined painting and objects. His work with Jasper Johns around this time is what started to bridge the gap between the abstract expressionism and pop art movements.

TH-cam recommended this video to me I just saw it is 11 months old 😆 it was perfect for me, I can relate a lot, just started my TH-cam Art Channel 3 months ago and there is so much to learn but also so much opportunity to grow! I try to stay optimistic and am willing to put all the work and effort into it. I like to think it will be worth it! Looking forward to your content now!

Love to hold onto the old newspaper clippings. Don't have storage for the whole paper, so just the clippings. But it's hard to find the one I'm looking for so, what I did was create a database to house all of years of clippings. Using an iPhone coupled with the database, everything is organized under its own category, date, subject, person, place, etc. Easily searchable. That way, the original clippings are not damaged. I see that exact zoom-able picture on the iPad or iPhone. If you use a program already built into the iPhone. It's called Notes. This thing will take a digital photo of the clipping that is as good as a scanner. I created a database that houses all of the thousands of clippings which can be instantly accessed. Then if need be, I can print as many copies of the original article as needed. Or email them to friends. I even enter the newspaper name in their image to give it the eye appeal of the real clipping. Let me know if you or anyone is interested in such a database to house hundreds of thousands (if need be) of clippings. I made this database because I saw nothing on the internet that would show me the exact article which I can read from and at the same time be able to create search words for each article. It's great to be able to show friends immediately the clippings or articles that date back to 1910. Anywho, if you or someone you know needs an organizer like this, let me know.

I thought you copied the pieces before gluing in so the news print wouldn’t show. i see news print on the hand. Not being critical just curious you did a wonderful job.

all of the art does look really cool and i understand toronto needs housing badly like most cities in canada, but i sadly doubt it will be housing that the people that need a roof over their heads can afford :/

Thank you so much for giving us a glimpse into the transformation process, and the tour on completion. I have always felt that every building has its own unique energy. Leah thank you taking us on a tour of this amazing mural house before it's gone forever. Such a cool project,I love that even the garden was an immersive space as well. All the artists work blended so well together. Glad it's immortalized on social media and here on TH-cam. Wish there was some philantropic collector who could buy the entire haouse and garden and save it or have it transported to another site where it could be a piece of permanant public art. Al the artist breathed such life into every inch of the house.(matt)P.s it's almost like the entire house was a readymade and became an art object it itself,such an amazing idea.
