no one ever said you had to buy a pressure washer, you can always use a regular garden hose. power washer just makes it easier... I would highly recommend you do buy 2 different buckets (1 for rinse, 1 for wash), as well as a microfiber wash mitt and a couple microfiber towels. and make sure to use a car soap and not your household dishwashing soap because it'll strip your paint. something like 'Meguiars Gold Class soap'. the 2 buckets, the microfiber mitt and towels and a car soap from Walmart shouldn't cost you more than $25. but if you really want to take care of your vehicle, its paint and how it'll look in the long run, I would suggest 'investing' in the higher end or better quality products and tools.
The way I look at it is this. Let's say you just bought a brand new car. you spend roughly $1000 to buy some nice tools and high-quality products and you wash your car once a week to maintain the paint, the wheels, tires, rims, glass, interior (leather or cloth seats, carpets, any screens). If you do that, you'll build a 'relationship' with your car and you won't let your car get dirty or let anything break because of careless handling. fast forward 5 years and now you want to sell the car and let's say you didn't maintain or care for the car. 1, the paint is gonna be really scratched and full of swirls, embedded contaminants. 2, the glass might have chips and will have a lot of embedded contaminants. 3, tire walls might be cracks and the rims will be completely caked with brake dust and will require A LOT of work. 4, countless stains will fill your interior seats, carpets, and headliner. 5, your car will probably need engine, transmission and other stuff worked on. to get this all done to have your car look nice in order to have someone buy it and in order to get the desired price for it, you're looking at over $5000 in work. so would you rather you spend $1000 and always have a clean maintained car that you built a 'relationship' with that will encourage you to do stuff like changing the breaks, changing the oil, etc which will be inexpensive if you do it yourself. OR would you rather always have to drive in a dirty car that looks bad on the inside and outside, have several problems popping up, giving it to untrusty auto shops that scam you and at the end spend $5000.
What I'm trying to say is, care for your car and don't be afraid to spend a little bit extra money to not only make your life easier but give you better results. And trust me, detailing and working on your own car will start to get addicting and you'll love it, and you'll be proud to have people come inside your car, and you'll be proud when you're driving down the street. and driving a clean car take so must stress out of your driving life. Anyways, idk if you actually took the time to read all or this, but at the end of the day, it's your car and your decisions.

    5. use 2 bucket method. 1 bucket for shampoo and 1 bucket for rinsing (dirty bucket) + best using grit guard too for dirty bucket

I entirely agree. I was actually waiting for Henry to say/demonstrate on how the two-bucket methodology is better.

bio10155 The 2 bucket method is not the best method to hand wash your car (if you ask me). From my experience, the best and more efficient method is using 1 bucket (without the grid guard) with multiple wash mitts (double sided wool mitt). 1 mitt only dunk once for 1 area/panel wash. By doing this way, the soap bucket will always stays clean. I use 6 lambswool wash mitt for washing my own car and I will switch side of the mitt to continue washing. While switch side, If the mitt have less soap/lubrication, you can use small cup and take out some soap from the bucket and pour it on the mitt. This is more OCD of washing cars but for a high volume detailing shop, this is not practical, time consuming and more money will spend on tons of mitt.

Good but I would have preferred 2 bucket wash with grit guards and before that a foam lance
