This is why you have to learn, know, bind every single hotkey not only for the mods but also the vanilla C:S UI to just speedrun it like an RTS in competitive multiplayer (e.g. Age of Empires IV) to shorten the time it takes to do a standard intersection in order to MARK MORE INTERSECTIONS.
Biffa uses UnifiedUI which collects a couple of different mods UI Buttons into one single button (Node Controller, Intersection Marking Tool and - i believe - Pedestrian Bridge Builder or Roundabout Builder)
This mod has always been a mystery to me. I have had it in my mods list for months and didn't know how use it. Thank you for making mistakes and showing how to make it right. I appreciate it.
I literally found you the other day and you instantly became my no.1 in regards to Cities tutorials. Great stuff, hoping for more of these. Those small bits and pieces make up for a huge difference in visuals :)
Props to those mod makers. The math for all those lines, especially the intersections and fillers, is not exactly simple, especially to have it all be dynamic. Super impressive work.
To make it invisible, you can also just delete the rules from a line. The line will stay (for the rest to use as reference) but the markings will disappear. :)
Good video man, clear instructions not to munch information just the right amount to get started and straight to the point. On 24:40 you can click mirror so your copied section gets a 180° flip👌 keep up the good work💪
I came into this thinking I already knew everything about Intersection Marking Tool, just hoping for some handy YUMBL tips. Then I had a lightbulb moment on the offramp example when you mentioned that creating a line makes the filler follow that line instead of cut across. It had never occurred to me that that was what caused my major annoyance with IMT. Thank you so much!

Tip:when u paste the preset and it doesn't match u should try rotating AND inverting it will always work u don't need to copy from another intersection
Regarding 8:10, there is a more refined/controlled way to adjust points, you can hover your cursor over the text entry field in the UI and scroll your mouse wheel (holding CTRL for fine adjustment)

In the U.S,, the crosshatch lines should be sloped in the direction of the major flow of traffic. This tip helps me remember when to use chevrons and which way to slope them.
Two things: in the US, the chevrons always point towards the point, including for merges: mutcd.fhwa.dot.gov/services/publications/fhwaop02090/fwymarkings_lgview.htm More importantly, you may have discovered this since making this video, but the paste tool has an "invert" button, which would have allowed you to paste the offramp markings to the onramp markings. HUGE time saver! Hope that helps, and great video!

@@mattdeady6448 different areas use different markings. I've seen chevrons in both directions, diagonal lines, even diamond patterns. I think it really depends on what pattern they feel makes more sense in that area.
The diagonal likes are usually when lanes are passing each other. My understanding is cars go toward where the line is pointing on their side. Like pushing open the swinging door to a saloon :)

You can install unified UI that will put some mods there, its a button that opens up like a closet for your mods Node controller and intersection marking tool it works.
1:13 - I’m currently living in Egypt! And I can say yes there is a million intersections not detailed by lane markings… even if there was lane marking the drives of Egypt don’t know what they are 😂😂😂

I've created so many Presets for every possible lane configuration. One thing i do to help me with rotation is to always color my most left hand lane with a solid yellow line.

To make the highway intersection even nicer you can offset the highway 2 meters causing the slip road to line up nicer, I decently spend too much hours painting my road with this thing
24:12 when you want to paste here, you need to "flip" the marking (not rotate it) because you want to transform a "right hand" image into a "left hand" image. Only mirrors can make a right hand into a left hand. You can't do it by rotating yourself.

I actually learned the pronunciation of "quay" from a gta game. I can't remember if it was III or Vice City, but there was an area in the game called Atlantic Quays, and I always heard Atlantic _Keys_ until I looked at a game map and saw how it was spelled.

I have been using this mod for a little while now, but am struggling with one thing. I have been matching colors like you did in the video with the bike lane filler. Do you know of any mod or something that has a color picker (eyedropper tool) that you can click on something and get the exact numbers to match a color? I have been searching but can not find such a tool.
Can you mark the whole intersection or interchange and then save all those markings to use on another identical intersection? You spend about 20 minutes on one intersection. It would take months to build a whole big city like that!

Guys in Intersection Marking Tool 1.8.2 i don't have pavement options for my intersections.. i just have "Stripes" - "Grid" - "Solid" and "Chevron" .. i missing Pavement and Grass in option, is there some additional mod/asset which i need to get for that?
I live in the US and I have never seen a ladder crosswalk. It's always zebra or the two parallel lines. Also you can go under the points tab do to refined point movement instead of holding ctrl.

How does one redraw lines that are not inside of a junction? I’m Looking to match up the road lines and colors on all segments. I removed all markings on roads highways using the road surface mod but it doesn’t appear to remove them from all roads.
The two mods to remove crossings are “rm crossings” and “traffic manager president edition”. Traffic manager removes them functionally and rm crossings removes them visually at the same time.
This mod hates me or my PC. I've spent countless hours following tutorial after tutorial, this is probably the best of the bunch as far as tutorials go. It won't solve the fact this mod doesn't work for me. I can add all the lines I want but any rules always gives me an error that it intersects another line. So I'm left admiring other cities while I play the plain vanilla way.
This, and Node Controller are perfect examples of how a Mod can cause you to spend hours working on the smallest things.

I’m glad you liked it! I intentionally did the intersection on the fly so I wouldn’t miss any talking points. Always a teeny bit of trial and error.
3:19 you can use the shortcuts: ctrl L for node controller & ctrl N for intersection marking tool

Fantastic, I tried marking tool to detail freeway exits and it looks terrific. So strange its hidden by having to go into transportation to find it.
I think its hidden in transit roads because I have “crossings” and “zoning toggle” in the space it would normally occupy. Amazing mod though!

I do that all the time now. Current node controller with the auto shift tool wasnt out yet
The copy paste for the highway part was fine, you just had to mirror it I think

You could take a screenshot and use any number of online pickers or ms paint. I prefer to just eyeball it though as even a pucker wont work well.
