Great vid ~ I want one of these & there is this exact model/color at my local dealer. I am hesitating because some reviews have reported a lot of heat coming from the engine~ have you or the owner noticed this? I live in Las Vegas & we have four very hot months every year. I know the Honda Transalp does't have this problem, but the Vstrom is way cooler. The heat is probably coming from the cat~ which can be bypassed when full exhausts come out for this bike.
I just pick one up yesterday October 4th and when i got it home i noticed the right front caliper is missing the lower bolt and my dealership check the base model in the showroom had the same issue so i was wondering if its a common issue with these new bikes
“You can shift this bike up or down under load” By “under load” I suppose you mean throttle open. Don’t you have to be off throttle for downshift? Can you please clarify.
@@powersportssteve no, you can upshift with the throttle pinned. You can’t downshift with the throttle pinned 😂 So a video of you downshifting through the gears with the throttle pinned. I want I watch you break your bike.
@@ToxicGamer86454 Pretty sure nobody said anything about being pinned and trying to downshift. Suzuki does call it a "bi-directional" shifter, so I guess do as you like and don't call me. lol
The reason they let you use the keys to lock the panniers box is to prevent you (user) from locking your keys inside the box in case by accident you drop or left it in the box. Its a Japanese thing called "poka-yoke"
That makes no sense. You have to have a key to lock and unlock. So if you left your keys inside, it would only be possible to have the boxes unlocked or at a minimum you would have the key to unlock them. There is no reason to not be able to leave them unlocked. I have many panniers where there isn't a problem.
@@JayBee-cr8jm I run errands all the time on a bike so it would just make things easier and quicker. If they are empty, why would you need to lock them? 🤷🏻♂️ Thanks for watching!
@@powersportssteve That's really weird. I lock my bags, pull the key out and ride away. If I have to get something out of the bags, I pull the key out of the ignition and open the bags. It's actually pretty simple. Good luck!
100%, the area i live and work i generally leave my keys in everything, and my 2017 dl650xt(that im trading on one of these) has pelican top loading cases that you have to padlock.... so yeah the locking and unlocking isn't something allot of us care to do@@powersportssteve What im hoping for this bike is to have the handling on gravel and dirt roads of my old klr, that thing was just stable... the 650 xt was always a bit nervous.
We found the aluminum skid plate! It was misplaced for a bit.
i got the gray/yellow trim version. love the bike.
im not an advanced rider - but the Vstrom 800DE makes me feel like i could try lol
Awesome! Congratulations on the new bike and thanks for watching!!!
@@powersportssteve thank you!
Great video
I have one of these. I picked it up Monday. It's a beast on road and off.
How is it on the hwy?
Can you please make a overview and test drive video of the SSR Bison 400U XL?

The pannier lid will come off if you want it to, there is another catch on the other side of the lid.
strange they give you an engine temp number, that is rare
The adventure model should have an aluminum skid plate.
According to suzukis web sit it is supposed to have an aluminum scid plate
Yes it should.

We haven't seen anything missing on ours. We found the aluminum skid plate too!
Müthiş video
Im interest in the cost of one of these.

Yes you can use it for up shifts and down shifts, without changing the clutch or throttle input. Thanks for watching!
