Really didn't want to route out the space for the guitar necks. Using the drill then cutting the out the neck entrance - Brilliant. Thanks for the tip.
I made one of these about a year ago. Only held 5 guitars. Then I made one about 6 months ago that holds 7 electric guitars, cuz I bought 2 more guitars. Did mine pretty much the same way you did, except I used Acacia hardwood floor leftovers. Milled it down to square stock and went from there. Nice finished product. Great video btw!
I'm planning on building a table for my studio soon. Those pocket hole jigs are a seriously great concept, was lost on how I'd put everything together before i saw those
Should maybe point out that the bulk of rubber foams will leach out chemicals over time which will damage a nitrocellulose finish, so if you have any guitars finished that way, you're going to need to put something over the rubber to stop that.
Good build, man. A guitar rack is next on my "To Build" list, and then here your video pops up in my recommended views, too convenient! I'll probably do a 6 rather than 10, that way I wont feel like I need to buy 4 more guitars XD
Watching people casually whip out these awesome looking projects and then looking at my attempts makes me feel like that spongebob meme where patrick nails a board to his head lol
Thanks for the free plans. I just finished building my rack using your measurements. The only tools I used was a circular saw, drill press, jigsaw, and a drill. I used cedar fence pickets, so it's not exactly like what you built. Hopefully with some stain and poly it will hold up for a long time.
So I'm planning on building one of these to donate to our local junior college's recording studio. Did you actually cut the bottom horizontals the guitars sit on at the corresponding angle in the plans, so their bottom faces sit parallel to the ground? Do you know what the distance the bottom of the horizontals is from the bottom of the sides? Thanks! Great plans.
PDBO Ya my videos are for inspiration mostly. But you could easily make this project with just a circular saw a jig saw and a drill. Also I offer free plans ;)
Nice build! And Free Plans too... Excellent! I know "most people" wouldn't need a video to conceive this plan, but for me I'm happy to see the build and also get the cut list/free plans. Saves me a bunch of time. Thanks for sharing! ;)
Excellent!!!! Nice looking stand but I'm afraid I'll have to have 2 of them. Glad to see you put the foam protection over the wood. Can't tell you how many clowns 🤡 I've seen who skip that part or do a shoddy job and it damages the finish.
Barney Fike Might have done it a bit better using felt/cotton batting for the application instead of foam as, foam tends to break down over time, and takes a toll on the finish where contact in any direct sense is made. Felt or cloth batting may rub a bit over time, but rarely eats the finish off the body or neck.
Thanks for the inspiration! Is there a slight tilt-back to the guitars? It’s hard to tell if they are standing straight up or leaned toward the back of the rack.
Would you consider making one of these and shipping it to me so all I have to do is assemble it . I want it for 6 guitars in cases , so the little openings on the top portion would need to be bigger .
I never understanded why someone wants to have more guitars. I mean I have 2, but one is electric, the second is acoustic. I had another acoustic , when I was beginning , but sold it. I have another electric guitar, but I can't sell it, yet no one wanted to buy it, so I just have it, but I don't use it
I built a 5 guitar rack from the plans out of some oak and cherry we had lying around the shop and it turned out beautifully! I was hoping you could tell me what you used for the padding on it? I went to a few different stores but couldn’t find anything suitable. Thanks!
I saw this vid when you first posted it and just revisited it today because I need to make one of these for myself. Great video. Do you have plans for this build? And by the way, tell your brother nobody needs 7 strats. How about a SG, V, LP, or something? lol
No idea, but it looks like a self adhesive foam door gasket, or seal, to help keep weather out of the house in winter. Foam weather stripping. You can use foam pipe insulation if you can't find the weatherstrip.
Follow up video fixing the adheasive strips here:

Great job, Brad!
+SpectreSoundStudios Thanks, Glenn!
maybe you could sell these online Glenn!
if i had the money i would buy this
Ok sell me one.
How much?
Actually I need two.
I better go count my guitars again, two should be good.
You gave me a great idea! I’ve been wanting to build something and I couldn’t think of it, but this exactly what I need! Thank you!
That is awesome. I am going to have to figure out something similar for my odd shapes like the V's and the Mockingbirds
very nice my father-in-law would love that

+Donald Shores thanks
Love this stand you did a great job

+Jeffrey Moon lol thanks
So multi talented!
This is exactly what I need
Kool! Now all I have to do is buy another nine guitars!
Hell ya Steel Panther! Great looking stand man.
It looks gorgeous! Loved that stain color!
Look at the billionaire building his stand using plywood. JK, great video!
thank you for this video: great info and awesome editing. I appreciate the time you took getting the editing right and saving everyone time.
Brother that is sweet. Great idea.
Great job! Can't wait to try it myself!
I'm planning on building a table for my studio soon. Those pocket hole jigs are a seriously great concept, was lost on how I'd put everything together before i saw those
+ccandrew111 yes they are nice. make sure to check out my recording studio desk.
DIY Builds yes, I have seen the vid for glenn's desk. I'd like to thank you for giving me a clear direction I can head in for my desk
Gorgeous!

I think by the time that happens he would have upgraded to something better
Hate on Gibson all you like, but you don't get nitro finishes on cheap guitars.
Derpimus Maximus who talked about Gibson?? Also I don't know if you ever bothered with Luthiering but nitro is nothing to brag about.
Derpimus Maximus Nitro is the worst finish you can get on an electric guitar.
I thought he used felt strips, not foam.
This is very well thought and designed!!! Great job!
all seriousness though, really cool and seriously well made and looks great. I'd love to give this a try.
Nice work!!!! Would love to see ya build a road case for an amp
Excellent stand for guitar !
Nice inspirational for what I'm going to make with pallets.
Liking the pocket holes :)

How do you determined the angle of the bottom pieces?

Just to throw this out here, I used EVA/craft foam for the padding. It was really easy to work with and hopefully it holds up.

Nice, ive just built the stand. Now I need to get 10 guitars
Awesome email me a picture if you want and ill post on my website.
That was a good build. Thanks.
Great job! I think I need to make myself one of those!
thank you metal man \m/
Most likely anyone with all those tools wouldn't need a DIY video. Nonetheless, I like the finished product.

@@DIYBuilds I have only a Dremel 4000, what do you think?
Congrats Bro! You área súper carpenter!
Are sorry spelling corrector mistake!🤷♂️
Nice build!

hey couldn't find the Plan on the website. If it's still there, can someone please share its link with me?

cool video you guys make it look so easy
Nice job.
Good job.
Very nice man
What is that end seal thing that you iron on at 2:30?
Nice ! All these videos of people using power tools in fast motion still make me nervous though! Lol
Name 6:20 product o link to buy?
Awesome video. I will try to build this. Thanks for inspiration.
👏👏👏
What kind of padding did you use? Will it leech or stain a nitro finish guitar?
Thanks for the inspiration! Is there a slight tilt-back to the guitars? It’s hard to tell if they are standing straight up or leaned toward the back of the rack.
Leaning back
Just built 2 of these and had to modify it a bit to hold my rhodes v and my bc rich warlock
Darn, I wish I had tools like that, and how to use them. Cheers!!🙂
Very cool! Could you plis tell us What are the measures and the angles with which you put the 2 woods that hold the guitars in the bottom?
I have updated the plans on my website to show these measurements.
your background music sounds cool \m/
Very Cool, i really do not have all the tools to make this though
Table saw, jig saw and drill is all you really need.
I will try and borrow a table saw, i have a circular saw, i wonder if i could convert it some how
Nice!!!
Perfect!!!
good woork! lets Rock dude!
Awesome job Brad !! i want one ? how much cause i am a touring musician and you do great work my friend and i can get you a lot of work buddy....
Omg is that game over by final stage?
Great work man!
+Oséias Silva thanks
Super nice!!!
Like for the rolling pencil :D
Challenge accepted!
Definitely know my next weekend protect.
What is the name of the black self-adhesive tape that you are using in the holder??
this is more of a "watch me do it" video than "how to"
Sky Marbles not if you combine the video with the free plans I offer on my website
DIY Builds you better have dimensions there! Cuz if u build it on my own its gonna hold 1 and a half guitar
DIY Builds what is your website address?
@@robertbambino7949 check the description...

Is that Lady of Pain by Final Stage in the background?
+Samir Hodzic yes sir. My bros band.
Do you have the measurements of all those pieces in plans somewhere? I enjoyed the video. Got a lot of good ideas.
My website under plans then project plans and scroll down until you find it
Thank you!!!
Nice Nice 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Amazing project!
Just a question, will this hold V-shaped guitars?
Probably not.
GOOD JOB
What is that tape that your ironing onto the edges of the ply wood?
Awesome!☺🎸🎶
thanks.... that's the one i need :)
That Green Ranger...

Um belo trabalho!
And now I just need 8 more guitars
Nice build.
+Jerry's This and That thanks
Cool build! May I ask the measurements between the slots where the neck rests? Thank you!
Wait! I saw it on your website already. Thank you!
What is the length between each of the holding grooves?
I was happy that I could do it at my home l, then I remembered I just have one guitar....
Whatever ! Build one for four guitars and work your way on up man
You'll get there
Whatever ! Lol I was just thinking great excuse to get a couple more!
I never understanded why someone wants to have more guitars. I mean I have 2, but one is electric, the second is acoustic. I had another acoustic , when I was beginning , but sold it. Paprad Zidan different guitars have different tone and quality
1:32 stooop, you are hurting it!

Watch my follow up video where i change the pafding to felt and some kind of soft material over top of felt padding.
DIY Builds will do, thanks
Please send me a photo for my website once your done id love to see it.

+King Beard ya he likes strats i guess lol. Ya plans on diybuilds.ca
hola, donde compraste las pantuflas?
you´re my heroe
Would it scale up to 25 do you think?
You would need a couple middle supports.
Super!
what if you buy another guitar ? :) thanks, nice work!
Awesome build! Inspired me! What do you use for the rubber parts to support the necks and base?
No idea, but it looks like a self adhesive foam door gasket, or seal, to help keep weather out of the house in winter. Foam weather stripping. You can use foam pipe insulation if you can't find the weatherstrip.
Ya that stuff failed and I made a follow up video fixing it by adding padding a cloth stapled on everywhere if you want to have that a watch.
Fucking rad, thanks for the video!
6:42 what's that black stuff called?
Expanding foam sealer (garage door seal)
table saw blade super high. zero safety guard. I feel like I'm back in my dads shop in the 70's / 80's.. Nice Build!
Where'd you get that edge trimmer?
Can you share this backing Track?
Awesome
Very Good.
I would like to know measures??
