- Hi Guys,
Well I decided to get myself down to the Southbank on the river Thames to visit some of our fine nations cultural institutions and first on the list of what ended up being a Southbank trilogy was the @NationalTheatre.
And what can I say, once again I was lulled into a false sense of security only for everything to deteriorate into utter madness - all for a man with a camera.
Thankfully this ended up being an educational experience for all parties involved and when the @metpolice_uk a few educations were swiftly given quickly followed by some even swifter walks of shame.
Poor show on the national theatre who think it appropriate to harass a member of the public who happens to wear a mask for a disability.

You should contact their Data Protection Officer to make a complaint. That will be the person who is responsible for ensuring the company complies with GDPR. He'll then have to educate that idiot security manager on GDPR rules.

That masked security guard failed three times and really needs to take a cold hard look at his career trajectory because that level of ineptitude should be considered as a complete fail in dealing with the law, the public, the policies, and his own personal ego, maybe try working at Aldi where shelf stacking could be more his line.

How can they be allowed to call themselves the NATIONAL THEATRE and then say it is private property and you cannot film there, remove that designation from them immediately.

I was making a cup of tea 13 minutes into the video and not looking at the screen and just after you said that people who are treated differently because of a protected disability is discrimination and I heared you say " look at the size of his head" and I nearly choked 😂😂😂 then when I looked at the screen it was a statue,lol, hilarious, the security is so dumb that he isn't even aware of his stupidity.
Here is the relevant policy from the NT website: "Photography and filming is not permitted in any of our auditoriums but ticket-holders are welcome to take pictures in our foyers to document your visit to the National Theatre." Obviously commercial photography is a different matter. It's just amazing that these idiots can say it's "private property". The building is owned by a registered charity. It was built using public money and continues to be heavily subsidised by taxpayer money. The clue is in the name. The "Royal National" theatre is the people's theatre, funded partly by the people and partly by box office receipts. And you did not even go into the building. The South Bank promenade is one of the most popular tourist spots in London. There are thousands of people taking pictures there every day. These guards are just bored and looking for an opportunity to assert their pathetic little egos.

TLA is there any way you can *actually* develop a compromised immune system? Then you *might* be able to sue under the Equality Act 2010, under the "using public services" part of the legislation. Possibly not worth actually getting AIDS for tho I guess. Unless you're REALLY after revenge :-) Maybe a complaint to the NT would be easier 🙂

I like it when he comes across someone with a perceived authority over a law abiding member of the public (in a public place or place to which the public have access on payment or otherwise) and then says “wind your neck in”. My mum used to I tell me in the early fifties when walking to school, “I hope you are wearing clean underwear in case you get knocked down by a bus” 😀.

I love that moment a person films a person that filming. They gradually feel dumber and dumber as they contemplate why they're doing it. At lot of people still struggle on a basic level or to recognise emotions such as aggression.
