      There are stock Police phrases (CopSpeak) which play well in court and provide them with openings to allow them to use other such phrases in their escalation battle with you. Plod are never in the business of de-escalation. Ultimately, if a Plod is talking to you, they have begun the psychological battle (Verbal Judo) in their attempts to get you to accept their authority and to bolster their suspicions further to the point of making a detention/arrest/charge. When they belive that a certain percentage of both of these key points have been achieved, they will act. Ultimately, it is all about their being able to justify their actions to their supervisors. All of their behaviour can be short-circuited by never talking to Plod, never trusting anything they say and always filming them.

    When are they going to learn that the public perception of them as individuals and as an organisation is dreadful, and as both individuals and an organisation they just must both be much much better.

    • @colinpryor4290
      @colinpryor4290 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Street cops don't care about their public perception. Senior Plod commanders do. It's the senior Police that have to sit in 'uncomfortable' meetings with their MPs, Ministers and local and national government oversight and budget commitees and justify criminal behaviour by their force and subsequent payouts to the public. The disconnect is not only with Police and public, it is also with their senior supervisors and the general hoi polloi of Plod.
      Remember also that almost all Plod senior supervisory staff were street cops themselves once and were trained and encouraged in criminal behaviour by those uniformed criminals before them. Eventually inured behaviour sets in and they start to BELIEVE that this form of behaviour is right and acceptable. Any senior Plod that fail to toe that particular line are quickly dealt with or sidelined. The rule of "Good Cops leave, Bad Cops stay" applies at all levels. Meanwhile, being what they are, all cops try to stretch the laws controlling and guiding them and use the perceived fallacy of the latest 'Emergency' (currently terrorism) to justify that poor behaviour and failure to follow guidance, rules and law.
      The key to truly controlling the Police and producing a fit-for-purpose Police service is eradicating this 'brotherhood' ideal that they love to wrap around themselves, getting senior supervisors in place that are more interested in service than in advancing their careers and empowering these people in a zero tolerance approach to enforcing guidance, rules and law. Effective supervisors are never usually popular, but must be supported.

    8:18 "It's quite unusual to film a building that belongs to a police state" straight from the mare's mouth!! It's quite unusual to hear such honesty from a police officer!!
    Not unusual is the bizzare paranoia of police concerned about their own "protection" ... when they completely lose sight of their fundamental task to serve and protect those they seek to abuse.
    "We wouldn't be carrying out our duty if we didn't approach someone filming a police station" FFS! Their logic is they are an organisation completely dedicated to guarding their own insecurities. We're not going to discuss any further our paranoid desire not to identify ourselves while harrassing you!"
    Charing Cross must have some sort of social disease spread among the officers... are mad cow related afflictions infectious?... is it something to do with leadership at that site? is there some sort of competition running amongst staff to be the biggest arsehole? What the hell is it?

    Neither of them produced their warrant cards, what you saw was I.d. that they use to go in and out of the gates and inside the station. Their warrant card is kept inside a black leather wallet, that they must carry it when on duty as a police constable. Other auditors have filmed them that's how I know.🙋‍♀️🇬🇧

    I lived in London for over a year. However, I was so busy working and socialising that I never really paid attention to the architecture. A huge draw for me when watching your videos are the buildings. They are jaw-droppingly stunning!! And this building was a classic example of London's amazing architecture. I , for one, am extremely grateful for you showing us these buildings. Again: massive thanks.

    • @hermanmunster3358
      @hermanmunster3358 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I love classic architecture too. Such a shame that a lot of these magnificent structures, built by extremely highly skilled craftsmen have been lost, especially since the 1960's, to be replaced by featureless oppressive grey concrete monstrosities. And they called it progress, at the time.
      The Edwardian and Georgian styles are definitely my favourite. I do love Art Deco too though, as the buildings define their period so well.

    Hi P t t p, as usual you start with a steady approach to the site of special interest which gives us a good to at the local environment, your observations of the way vehicles are parked, the van was just about ok but the function of the restrictions is to ensure good clear visibility for vehicles at the junction, thus that is slightly compromised by the overhang of the large van, this might not be a technical offence but is definitely showing a lack of consideration.
    The next one, the car parked half on the footpath on the double yellows is also opposite a junction making that more difficult, again that is why the double yellows are there.
    From there on it just gets worse and worse!.
    At about seven minutes someone come up and starts buy asking why you are filming does not attempt to introduce himself offers no explanation as to why he wants you to answer him, when you don't immediately comply with him she dives in, also without proper introduction, for them to then insist that such dreadful behaviour is justified because they are anxious about what you are doing is pathetic, when you correct them they get all argumentative also quite aggressive. For some strange reason they then leave you!, surely if they really had proper reasons for bothering you they would have stuck at it!.
    While I still think that such unsatisfactory encounters with people like you out there on the street will be effective in the long term, people always find negative responses discouraging I would like to see the people responsible for their training held to account for their negligence.
    Well done and keep going!.
    Cheers, Richard.

    The usual unnecessary overbearing attitude from officers stationed at Charing Cross. Good point about Wayne Couzens though and surprise surprise, they dont want to discuss that.Officers identifying themselves correctly was made a directive following the Couzens arrest and the fact that so many officers still refuse to do so is a fair reflection on their contempt for and lack of understanding of the general public. If the Met really meant what they said, why aren't officers like this given written warnings?
