- Amy and Richard Johnson who have two daughters, say they were mortified when they found out their security camera was accessed 377 times by an ADT technician who installed their security system. Shana and Randy Doty say their family was spied on, too. A spokesperson for ADT told Inside that as soon as the company found out they immediately revoked the technician’s access, fired him, reported him to law enforcement and have added enhanced safety features. #InsideEdition

everyone of the 200+ customers could have found out on their own just by learning their security system. just a simple access with any pc in the home to look at the setting but seems only 1 of them did and noticed a unauthorized user

I visited a friend & his wife a few years ago. At the end of my 2 week visit, I found out that they had cameras all over the house, I won't visit them ever again.

it actually IS the company's fault, their employees were for years able to gain access to customer's cameras, they didn't bother with restricting their access at all! from what the lady is saying it seems not that the employee violated any particular policy, there was none!
note how she keeps on talking about that one employee, how they investigated HIM, terminated HIM.. there was no investigation of other people in the company nor any rules and policies put in place preventing this from happening in the future!
That's why adt was quiet for a long time....

As upsetting as this can be for any family, their anger is misdirected. ADT, didn't allow this to happen as one woman said. They didn't know what their employee was doing. Once figured out ADT took the appropriate steps to handling the situation. Should they be successful in their lawsuit 🤷♀️ To be fair all customers should be given back the money they spent with ADT and maybe a little something extra.

What to do when you think someone is spying at you through the camera:
Slowly walk up to the camera, staring directly at its lens, whip out that pointer finger of yours and point it up and then directly at the lens itself.

Abel G as a professional hacker (a good one I promise lol) it’s definitely possible for an alien wire to be inserted during set up to an outside source. You wouldn’t know it, but the footage from those cameras would be going to two different viewing locations.

It doesn’t mean that the company was involved with it. As a company if you’re employee doing unethical things like this you have to take accountability for their behavior. The only problem here is that the company was not monitoring their employees and their security cameras where very easy to access or even hacked.

This happened at my job at a small retail store. A guy would call when I was alone and ask for nude pictures for a “modeling gig”. When I told my manager she told me the security cams were hacked and to just hang up whenever someone got personal which is what I did . We also had fitting rooms in there . Looking back I’m hoping no ones privacy was violated
