That Kelly Clarkson performance gets me everytime. I can’t help, but cry. Especially hearing the lyrics effect her in this performance. The lyrics & this performance just breaks my heart.

My father didn't try to see me from age 5 to 15. When he brought me to spend the summer with him when I was 15 I begged to stay because my stepfather was a violent alcoholic. He said no and sent me back so I ended up in foster care. So yeah... This song hits me in all the feels even 40 years later. I'm a KC superfan so do ALL the Kelly!!!

I have been to two of Kelly Clarkson’s concerts and she is truly amazing and talented. My goosebumps and tears start flowing out of my eyes before she even gets to the main chorus part every single time! And watching Keith Urban cry is so hard to see too. I also recommend Carrie Underwood’s song from her newest album called The Bullet! It’s a tear jerker too.

The Kelly Clarkson song hits home for me because my parent's divorced when I was 10 and I live in Minnesota and my father got remarried and moved to Maryland within a year so when she talks about being at the airport and her father leaving her in his past, DAMN!!! HITS ME IN THE FEELS!!! I feel blessed that my mom met a WONDERFUL man to show me that a Dad could be kind and stay. I don't call my 1st dad "Dad" I call my step dad "Dad" because he has been there for my sisters and I more than the other one.

But March 9, 2012 I listened to the song on repeat and I ended up as of today 10/25/19 having my last drink. Not shy to say I still tear up every time I hear it. Great video!!

I've watched quite a few of your reactions now and when I saw that you were going to react to Piece by Piece, I instantly felt bad for you because I knew this one was going to hit you square in the heart. I was very fortunate in life and I had two loving parents until my mother passed when I was 31. I was truly blessed but this song still makes me cry buckets. Bless you for loving your daughter the way you do even if you couldn't make it work with her mother. OG Alert: The best thing you can do for your daughter is to keep things civil with her mother so that you can always be involved in each other's lives. As long as your daughter feels your love, she will be ok.
BillyYouSoEmotional I’m right there with you. Kelly was 8 1/2 months pregnant in that performance on American Idol. I think it made that song hit even closer to home because of that.

Billy, I totally relate to Kelly’s song. I’ve lived it and I cry every time I hear this song.
I fell in love with "Cry Pretty" and her song "Champion" around the same time my brother was admitted into the ICU. I was almost in my finals at college and dealing with him and that. We almost lost him twice. Both songs reminded me that I can be strong and emotional at the same time. I am a person who saw crying as a weakness. However, my faith and my music was there. Somehow, God has a way of humbling you. Thank you God, my brother is alive.

Cry Pretty is one of the songs Carrie actually wrote about something she is going through. Carrie took time off of touring when she miscarried. She went through a serious depression and wrote this song and a couple others about her struggling.
Some people get mad at this story, but I love to tell it and proud to have her in my life and honored to have been able to care for her. Her name was Willlie and my great, great, great grand father bought her before slavery was abolished. She was a very tiny person so no one knew exactly how old she was when the bought her, she could have been 20 or 10. All I know is I was 10 years old when she passed away. Well, when I was about 9 she fell out of the bed and bumped her head and for two weeks we learned more about history than we ever did in school, and I wish we had recorded her, because two weeks later she feel out of the bed and never said another word. I can honestly say I miss her.

Thank you! I had never heard piece by piece before this. I grew up with the best dad he worked so hard to support 5 kids and his wife but was always there for everything despite always having to work. Even when my world fell apart as an adult because i married a man he told me not to be never said I told you so. My ex husband is not a good man and hurt my daughter and now lives on the street killing himself slowly. My daddy went with me to court when they tried him for child abuse and held my hand. I told my ex on that day my daddy is my hero but to your daughters you are the monster and that breaks my heart.
I love Chris Young. I have met him several times and he is real cool. And equally nice to look at! Gave me a hug a couple of times. Met his stepdad too who is funny.

Piece by Piece is one of the two songs that perfectly explain how I feel about my father. He abandoned me when I was about 5, only to come back when I was 16 so he could play Father of the Year for my current stepmom, 3 months before they got married.

Biggest act in US. Kelly still is the best selling act from the show on a worldwide basis. That being said, not to argue who is greater, cause both are kicking butts in their respective genres.

My father and mother both weren't much of a part of my life when I was young (raised by an abusive grandmother) so I never was able to get past the sense of abandonment for a long time. That sense of abandonment is something everybody can relate to because we've all had someone abandon or disappoint us. The tears that music evoke are meant to heal us, not harm us. It's cathartic, it's cleansing, & it's a GOOD THING. I'm glad Billy You So Emotional showed up - StormyEmotions popped up, too. Love ya, bro.

Had a miscarriage 6 weeks ago (2 months and 6 days along) and this song came on the radio 3days after it happened and I let the dam open so I get what Carrie is going through I stood in my bathroom not in the shower and just lost it a week after the loss of my little one I totally understand what Carrie went through and I'll never forget my angel baby that song will always remind me of what might have been had god not called my baby home.

When it comes to piece by piece I’ve been in the same place twice really hits home haven’t really had the second parent who cares as much as her step parent did. But I do relate with her because when it comes to searching for a man the first thing I look for is a good father figure for my future children especially after a loss with a boy who destroyed me.

As someone who’s dad was everything they could ask for, for my 37 years with him, I don’t relate to this song. But Kelly Clarkson is so good, so raw and so beautiful with the lyrics that I feel every single ounce of her pain in this song.
That's Kelly's real life story and this was her first public performance of it. AND she was about 8 months pregnant. One of the most real, raw performances I've ever seen.

Got to see chris young when he first came out with this album, at the strawberry festival in Florida, 2011, looking back had no idea he would be so big now. And have such great songs! This whole album i feel like is so underrated, it’s so good! Voices is a good one you should react too!

I had a friend who went through something like this. It was terrible to see that happen to her at such a young age. I had great parents so it was such a shock to see that people could treat each other that way!

Hi Sherri, I`m another OG but from the other side of the Pond. I wonder if we have had first hand experience of Brad`s wonderful tribute? My Dad died over Hamburgh in `43. (I was 3 but I do have "snapshot" memories of him) We Brits did the night raids while your Boys did the day raids. Operation Gomorrah, Mum married again when I was 6. He was a young Scots lad posted down to the English Midlands as Ground Crew keeping our bombers flying. If they had lined up every man who ever breathed I could not have chosen better. He was my best friend, my mentor and when I once stepped off the strait and narrow, ( nothing serious, just rather silly) he stood beside me when my own flesh and blood turned away. To top it all he gave me the best present I ever had, my Kid Sister. He died too young many years ago and I miss him still. I`m not a believer, but if I`m wrong and there is a Heaven then I hope he made it there. In my book he sure earned a place.
