    Hi Jonathan,
    You only have preset values to choose for datum color, but the syscol file can be "hacked". If you open it up with a text editor you can edit the color values in the file. Here is what the lines look like:
    SYSTEM_DATUM_COLOR 60.000000 40.000000 20.000000

    Is there a Video for changing the Background of a text box to white and not see though so that you can put it over a item in a drawing? Like an over lay. But every time i print it comes out black. Would this be a printer setting instead? I can do it AutoCAD Mech. and solidworks.

    wonder if there's a possibility to have different backgrounds for a model space, sketcher, drawing and if they could be saved as well in syscol file. It seems like when I change the background while I am in a drawing mode and changes it to sketcher as well. So how to keep different backgrounds for different modes??? And if it's possible? Thanks

    This video was very helpful but, I do have a question regarding how to change the background color when sketching or in "sketcher" as it is listed under the System Colors. I can't seem to figure out how to change the sketch background color. I want it to be the same color background that I have when I model, do you have any suggestions on how to do this and prevent the background color from changing when I sketch?

      Hi Erica,
      The background color selected will apply to the sketcher as well. The sketcher does not support a gradient background though. When you set a gradient background the skecther will default to white. If you set the background color to a solid that should apply to the skecther as well.

    We're looking at where to put the pre-Wildfire SCL file.

    ThanX for sharing this video.
    Do you know if it would be possible to assign a different background color for a part template other than the system background?
    So basically, when you start a new part with your own template you will see a different background color.

      Unfortunately no. A start part can control many things, but it does not control system colors. The system colors/theme is customizable for each user, if allowed by the admin in 'Options'. You could always create map keys to quickly change background color for the specific start part you were using at that time.

    Thanks for the video. Is it possible to customize the colors of the datum planes? I get a whole lot of options that are "white" in Creo and then "red" and "yellow" (like the PreWildfire scheme) but no other options.

      Ok, so I used your trick of going back to WF4 to actually save the "wildfire" color scheme instead of the "PreWildfire" scheme. Luckily, Wildfire 4.0 still launched. Now I can see both sides of my datums in a blended gray background. I could have used a black background, but I found it a little harsh.

    Any chance you guys could do a video on the config.pro file itself? I've been a user for several years now, but I'm still learning config.pro's true potential. One thing that still eludes me is the default/local hierarchy. What tips would you give to a small company trying to setup their config.pro?

    • @mganzer
      @mganzer 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Pearl,
      I would suggest keeping a "corporate" config.pro and pushing that out to the Creo load point folder "Creo 2.0\Common Files\M020\text". Many folks create a batch file that copies the config to that point and then launched Creo. Might look like this:
      @echo off
      REM Script to run Creo 2.0
      REM Copy the server config file to load point.
      COPY S:\Standards\config.pro C:\PTC\Creo 2.0\Common Files\M020\text\config.pro
      REM Start Creo 2.0.
      "C:\PTC\Creo 2.0\Parametric\bin\parametric.exe"
      Your paths would be different. By placing a shortcut to this batch file on your desktop and clicking it to run Creo, you are always copying over the latest corporate config.pro to your desktop.

      File > Options > System Color > Graphics > Letter > change to the desired color
      Use Export button to save the *.scl file
      Load this *.scl file with config.pro option system_colors_file
      Launch Creo Parametric
