After working in a plastics factory, I can tell you that if they want to turn out a consistently crappy and cheap product, using more than the bare minimum of molds would be heckin expensive. Those molds are huge and take a lot of labor to purge and change. And the colors have to be kept at a minimum too. Lots of added expense to keep the big barrels of colored material. They probably have 2 robot stampers doing the "special" ones' print. And quality control is basically, "is it minimally acceptable to a degree of no more than 10% defect per lot?" as looked at from a distance of 18 inches. Then they charge a crazy price for what it is and pay their employees the bare bare min. Just wanted to share the inside scoop on why things suck. lol

As someone who doesn't like it when designs stretch and get destroyed immediately, I actually like that they have a lot of solid color designs. Sometimes I prefer a simple thing that's less distracting than something with more interest.

I sort of like the plain ones over the decorated ones, for me just more pleasing to look at and pretty compared to patterned oned.

There just needs to be more variety with the shapes tho. Give us stars and hearts and fun shapes to play with!
I love that Jackie often explains what color she sees. Since it's all monochrome for me it gives me a better idea how colorful it's supposed to be.

I don't know, I prefer the plain ones, they look like actual mochi and the colors are nice. It's more pleasing than a bunch of stuff on the thing. The price is a lot but they might be more durable than the really cheap ones from Amazon. They should mix them up for sure but there's not that much to complain about for me.
I think from a “collect them all” perspective they’re lacking and the price is high but from a “Imma buy one to play/fidget with it” perspective it’s a nice toy and like you said probably more durable than cheap ones
And some people want to use the mochi ALL year but it may have a design for a specific season or holiday and it's like kinda weird using it
It really depends on what is more stimulating to fidget with. I find I get easily bored with mochis because they lack texture, which is likely why I tend to go for textured stretchy noodles more.
I think the plain ones were supposed to mimic the real thing, you can even stack them up and make them look like a classic dango stick.

I would argue the plain ones are great for people who aren't into things being super colorful or busy. I, for example, often get annoyed by things being really glittery/sparkly. So having a plainer option would be nice, if not a little boring. And not making them scented is fine because a lot of people have issues with fragrances or scents, or someone might hate the particular scent used. Unscented is a more inclusive option.

The Mochi squishes look exactly the desserts filled with ice cream or other things. So I love how simplistic and cute they are with the color ones because I have had things like that with cute design on it and it just rubbed away after time
The squishys you can suction on to the taple and stuff and sometimes plain mochis are better bc they are less distracting and the designs dont rub off
I don't mind that they have sets. I just wished that they were somehow marked. I have nibblings that would love these, but would also care about color.

I've always appreciated your unbias opinion on products. Too many ''reviewers'' are way too Hyped and fake and over boast products, which then boosts sales and people buy them only to be disappointed.

I was thinking that for the containers, if they reseal, you can also use them to store craft supplies that don't come in resealable packaging.
Yeah, I am a beader, so I keep containers and especially like clear ones.
That company also sells other fidgets. There is a burger one where each part feels different and has a different texture. There is also bike rings. The bike rings and burger are my personal favorites!!

I hear your complaint about no scents; however, I feel that if they were scented they would be a lot less inclusive as many have sensitivities to perfume scents.

I remember a few years ago when mochi squishies also came into popularity. Right away I found that they were very cheap all around. Then the "mojmoj" came around and I was upset that they sold at the price they did. It's gross how companies can sell these simple items for several dollars each. Part of it is probably that many people don't realize how cheap some things are to make. Once they have everything set up and start selling, the profit margin is pretty big.
They're not special. Just like those small reversable octopi plushes. I saw the ads before TikTok was a factor. Now after random folks make quick videos of them, they're popular.
TikTok has definitely been great for various companies.
Yeah in terms of quality and size, these little Mochi squishies are something you should be able to get from an american gumball machine for 50 cents.
You must not watch Shark Tank. Companies have to charge alot more than it costs to make the item or they won't make any money!

My daughter works at a trampoline activity centre were my other daughter attends and my toddler attends sensory sessions. I saw they finally refilled the machine which you can get little collectable toys from. It was full of tiny tiny mochi's all just for a £1 each. They are a mystery and I got a few doubles but I don't mind cause they are so squishy 😍 and soft and so fricking cute. My daughter kept sneaking £s from my bag to go get another. 🙄 teens honestly. But they are better then these and for only £1 each. And four different collections too.
I'm back on the weekend 🤪 my husband will be funding my new super cute addition. 😍

I grew up in a household that was alergic to any fragrance so I am glad they don't have sent if it is not advertised. Too many toys had to be tossed in our house or given to others because the sent was not advertised. I know it is a nice perk to have them sented but them not having one is not a negative.

And my favourite kind of squeezie thing is definitely slow ricing, though those types of fidget toys aren't really my thing😅 I prefer the flippy double ring thing for mindless fidgeting and infinity cube for combination of visual and motional fidgeting.

At this point, I'm not even surprised by how bad these are despite being "popular" on social media. Companies can spend way more on marketing than the actual product since why bother making something good when you can just pay people to say it's good and have it sell out before anyone realizes.
I kinda think it would be cool if Jackie used the plain ones in a DIY, like Maqauroon, but her own creature of darkness style! and evil slime with wings? A resin creature head with her Not another Crap kit moulds? who knows, I'd love to see!

This is why I don't like mistery boxes, I personaly think they are always a waste of money. They are not cheep and because you don't know what is inside, you can get many doubles and/or triples. I think companies just want to make quick money with mistery boxes, this is also why they propably don't put a lot of effort into the product itself (most of the time). And they know, that people buy mistery boxes, because people are curious and want to know what is inside. So this method works and it makes me angry. Jackies videos are always great, because she shows what this companies do wrong and she always stays honest with her reviews.

My favorite squishy is a fuzzy plush monster with a ball full of orbeez that comes out of its mouth when you squeeze it. My friend saw it and at first thought it was supposed to be a hemorrhoid and that just made it infinitely funnier to play with now. 😂

I like the plain ones way better. For some people who need fidget toys the textures can be upsetting to them. I know chunky glitter that can poke you is one of my least favorite textures and it creeps me out to touch anything like that. Also, as someone who is allergic to some scents, I think it's better that they aren't scented. Drink some water Jackie, too much salt. 😂 ♥

Jackie , I saw those at Walmart here in Pell City , Alabama and someone else had opened up a package of one of them and I looked at the one that was out and I just wasn't impressed by it at all !!!! . I mean , yeah , it's cute and all , but it just wasn't anything special to me so I didn't even buy any of them !!! When I saw that you had them to examine , I knew that you wouldn't be impressed either . They ARE soft and dense and they feel good to touch , but they just aren't different from the other ones around . I'M SUPER BUMMED ABOUT THIS BECAUSE THE MANUFACTURER COULD HAVE DONE A BETTER JOB OF MAKING THESE ALOT MORE INTERESTING AND DIFFERENT THAN THE OTHER ONES IN CIRCULATION ALREADY !!!!!

I bought two of these and was so disappointed by them. I got exactly the same doubles in them, so there seemed to be no mix match in them at all. And had no scent which seemed like a missed opportunity.
