If you pause the video at 13:21 when she shows the back of the box, it doesn't actually say it includes flowers or fragrance oil, but does say it includes two surprise trinkets. So the flowers are just decor you add yourself I guess and the fragrance assumed. Which is a total rip off for 25 dollars if you ask me.

This was me yesterday when a gas pump malfunctioned & sprayed 4 gallons of gas everywhere while the nozzle was still in my gas tank. The sensor was broken & the gas station did nothing not even make the pump unavailable for use. I of course called OSHA & the EPA & reported them so now they're under investigation. I was VERY SALTY

At least the second box had a list of things on the back of the box what you'll find inside. So I would avoided it, if I would have seen this short list. But I'm grateful, that Jackie is testing this things, because there are so much more things wrong with it other than overprizing.

I mean to use a scale to measure things is very scientific and "Stem" like so that probably why it isn't pre-measured
plus it's wasteful to pack each portion in separate plastic if you can just measure it yourself
measuring doesn’t make something STEM. It should teach you something! It should tell you what you’re doing and why, if you don’t understand a thing on why or what you’re doing it clearly isn’t STEM. Not every crafting or measurable thing is STEM.
Do they really expect kids to have one though? I don't think my parents did. What about measurements in teaspoons or cups or such?
@@kioku119 In a British kit, yes, they would. I'd never seen measuring cups in my life until i bought some a couple of years ago to make American recipes. We use weights- the only people who don't have scales don't use recipes, but even then you can get the cheapest kind for like £3.

I feel like for most kits - especially bath bomb kits - it’s cheaper to buy the basic ingredients and add-ins separately than buying the kit. I bought a big bag of both baking soda and citric acid, soap colorant, fragrance oil, coconut oil, and molds (used plastic Easter eggs) for around $30 and was able to have 15-20 kids make at least one bath bomb each, plus left over ingredients. We even used the baking soda/citric acid combination for other “experiments”.

To be fair, the second one doesn't actually say anywhere it includes scent or flowers. It's just assumed based on the box decor - but also to be fair, why is your kit $25 dollars if you aren't going to include that stuff? If you read the back of the box (and even the front) it says no where that it includes flowers or fragrance.

Doing some detailed analysis on both of these boxes, I Personally believe that the Strawberry Fizz Bath Bombs kit will perform better for both the quality and the price. If you look at the box the girl in the left corner Clearly states that it's a "colourful and creative science activity fun!" XD

As a Science teacher, all the "STEM" kits make me so salty. About as salty as I was after buying a AU$60 kit from Questacon (a Science museum type place), only to find out it was just a bunch of plastic to make slimy goop. I got a bit excited and thought it was the gummy candy "mad scientist lab" of my childhood, so I didn't read wtf was actually in the box. Or when I read "science kit" boxes and they're really just a book and containers to make simple experiments you can do at home, like bicarb soda rockets, and they don't even really explain much of the science behind the experiments.
Real science is often so much cooler than the fake steam/stem kits. Hell, even watching braniac or mythbusters has more useful science XD
@@watsername yeah, but there are SO many cool Science and STEM things you could into a box and have it be education, fun AND worth the cost of the box.
There are a handful of cheapish books ($5-20) with experiments and fun facts etc. Those are better than being scammed into those shitty crap "STEM" kits that are basically a book/instructions and some plastic, with or without enough ingredients to actually do some or all of the activities/experiments in the "kit".
I mean, I'm a Science teacher so I do get to find some pretty cool stuff myself.
I've got this one box of rocks for free from the Australian Gold somethingorother. It also came with little colourful books that tell us about the uses of gold (it's in your blood!), as well as where the rocks in the box came from and how they're formed. Not sure how much I would've paid for something like that if I wasn't a teacher, but it was kinda cool.
I've also been scammed paying like $60 for something that was literally a cheap book, plastic containers/crap and a bag of powder to make into gross slime. Because I got excited and thought it was that edible worms/other gross stuff toy kit from my childhood. I still probably overpaid for the actual edible slime/boogers/skin/bugs kit I found later, but at least that was more than like 5 minutes of entertainment.
@@watsername also, if you get a chance when everything settles down and it reopens, go to the Tech Interactive museum in San Jose. I went there once on holiday, and it was so cool. I got to make my own glow in the dark bacteria (that I could look at online once I got home and put my ticket info in), explained pretty simply through written and video instructions so even a younger kid could be standing there making bacteria on their own agar plate :D

I got the second kit for Christmas last year and besides the obvious lack of materials, the bath bomb I made was actually really nice. I made the one with oats and it was very soothing. But it felt a little oily.
