    In one of your recent videos a viewer asked if you should use Silicone spray on the bushings or rubber parts surrounding your shocks, suspension. Scotty Kilmet did not recommend Silicon. He recommended "AT-250" ( you'll have to look it up, sorry). There is something in silicone that does not lubricate the rubber protective parts long-tetm around the shocks. FYI.

      I think we can use it. Just ensure the liquid is not containing more oik, else it will spread n attract more dirt. 👍

    How's your car rubber now?
    An Amazon review says, it's petroleum based. In that case it will dissolve rubber.

    @Pranav sir, can we use this silicone spray on seat belt to smoothen the extraction-retraction function?

    • @PranavBhayani
      @PranavBhayani  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would not recommend, bcoz the seat belt would become messy. Instead just clean the belt properly and also the bracket on which it slides. You may add a drop in the latch to lubricate, but that won't effect the belt's movement.

      I didn't try on plastic, but you can use in parts like Rubik's cube. There are other sprays specially for shining plastic / fiber parts. This silicon lubricant does not easily wash-off, and will last a long time in window channels as I have shown in video. It can be used as lubricant in various parts, do try. I also tried in door hinges, sliding gate - worked fine.

    Can this be used to rejuvenate rubber in joints, suspension, differentials?

    • @PranavBhayani
      @PranavBhayani  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      long back even I had thought about this, but didnt do. Reasons : (1) in modern days, its not pure natural rubber, buts its actually EPDM rubber - kinda synthetic rubber made with chemicals. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EPDM_rubber . This material is quite durable, and used in several areas. Noise or friction caused by rubbing surfaces can be reduced by silicone grease lubricant, also can be treated for softening / conditioning. However petroleum grease would spoil the rubber.
      (2) suspension parts often have to encounter lots of flexes / bends and are fully exposed to the environment. So applying the lubrication would make more dirt stick to it, and slowly start entering the seals and cause parts failure. Many of joints (eg. tie-rod-end) have factory filled grease and a rubber boot seal over it, but eventually the seal goes away and grease spills out, causing to not work properly. Hence, its better to have cleaner suspension parts (say even a simple water wash after a dirty drive is fine), and not put any dirt attracting lubricant over it. After a certain time, anyways the parts would go bad, and its better to perform the correct replacement.
      So, I personally wont advise putting such lubricants on such critical parts. hope my info is useful.

      Just saw Scotty kilmer spraying silicone spray on suspension bushings .I think it would not harm bushes(water resistant properties) if sprayed in small quantity.Btw is this product petroleum based as someone said in a comment.

    Can clean dash board with this silicon spray?

    • @PranavBhayani
      @PranavBhayani  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Certain dashboard polish do contain silicone. Though I have not tried yet, but believe that silicone spray can surely be used on such plastics / fiber parts. Just ensure that it's a very thin layer applied, and not too much liquid - otherwise surface will come slippery and attract dust. 👍

    Bro my power windows are stuck. I was asked to change motors from my mechanic. Can I use this spray? Or Shall I try WD40 worth 300rs. There are so many WD40 products I don't understand

    • @PranavBhayani
      @PranavBhayani  ปีที่แล้ว

      First do a cleanup of rubber window channels to remove dust/muck, can use WD40 for that task. (Watch my video). If motor is really bad, then needs replacement. 👍
