- Sometimes we forget about the great cars from the past; we might remember the Toyota Celica and Mitsubishi Eclipse; this time we have an in-depth tour of the South Korean marvel that allowed Hyundai to be in the mind of the enthusiasts of its time. Today we bring you the Hyundai Tiburon (Coupe), a vehicle that has the looks and feels special. Does it deserve a spot in our heart?

Tiburon is best cheap sporty car for the price. I like 2005-08 Tiburon interior than other Hyundais and it age well. I have 2 of them one turbo and supercharger soon

@@RealAutoNerd I have 2005 Hyundai tiburon GT 5 speed and its my turbo project and bought another this year 2004 Hyundai Tiburon GT 6 speed came with a supercharger. I want to buy 2007-08 GS with 5 speed

@@RealAutoNerd I'm sure 2.0 beta is about the same weight as 2.7L delta. Beta is a cast iron block vs delta cast aluminum block. First thing first got get both Tiburons running right then I'll look for 2007-08 GS Tiburon has to be bone stock.
hi there man i have a tiburon 07 siii 2.0 and i was thinking about a turbo or supercharger, how much of a budget do you think it would take to get it done, also was thinking about lowering or bagging
it’s a good daily but i wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking for a project car - almost no aftermarket support. very reliable and fun to drive
Actually, you are 100% correct. Even though it looks amazing, it is very reliable and fun to drive; it does not have many parts available anywhere in North America.

Had a 2 Liter for 3 years and now a V6 for 4 years. Not thinking about selling it. Did several test drives for a 2002 Camaro V8 but no other car really gave me the same kind of joy like the Hyundai. So much love for this car
I am very glad! the Tiburon has a classic look that makes it special. It is also rarer than the Camaro, I miss this one every day.
I had one as my second car as a kid. Loved that thing. Had a V6 and was fast at the time. You starts up and sounds just like the one I had. Brings back memories.

I have the same based one 2008 tiburon gs but mine have cruise control and sunroof and 5speed transmission.....buen video bro. We need more videos como este.

Great vehicle for a first car, if you live where there is snow try to stick with the V6 because it had traction and stability control. Manual transmission for the durability. If you need the auto transmission and do not live in a snowy area you can stick to the 4 cylinder for durability.

@@RealAutoNerd all the 1.6 from 03-04 are near 2K (for the distance traveled and reliability the are hella good). Some turbocharged ones with 180bhp cost near 3k but hella worth it too

You are welcome! it is slower. I would recommend the manual: You get an extra gear for the highway (better mpg), it's cheaper to repair, and has slightly faster acceleration. I am glad you liked the video and hope you subscribe.

My son has a Tiburon GK and it just killed while he was driving.. I have had several different mechanics try to diagnose the issue and lets just say I basically went broke only to end up with the car sitting in the garage.. 😢
I am sorry to read this. Is your son ok? what type of Tiburon was it? V6? transmission?
If your particular vehicle is troublesome maybe it is time to either refurbish it or recycle it'; sadly.
Everything on that car is stock apart from the 'go-faster stripe' and head unit. Stock lights.

If you could choose between Celica or Coupe, which one would you choose?
Great question! If you need reliability, the Celica. If not, the Coupe/Tiburon is not unreliable and it is more unique/fun.

@@RealAutoNerd yeah, got coupe 07 2.0 for about 3000€ and celica 02 but vvtli which has 192 horse power for about same money, Coupe is more beautiful in my opinion, but Celica with 192 hp is probably more fun to drive, so I am in dilemma
@@Lelemene00 that Celica sounds very attractive! It’s a lovely car. However, if you want to be more unique and have side airbags, the Hyundai might be your choice.

What's your fuel consumption like in heavy city traffic and the highway?
In heavy traffic my worst efficiency was 18 miles per gallon (7.65 km per liter), my worst highway fuel economy was 24 mpg (10.2 km per liter), my best highway fuel economy was 31.5 mpg in the highway (13.4 km per liter).

@@RealAutoNerd Oh no it's not that I don't like it, I hate it. It's clearly a copy cat of all its competitors and fails to even compete. Its V6 only gives it 176hp to the crank when it's from a Suv. It's clearly underpowered and a 2008 Honda accord V8 puts out more power and can pass it. That says something if this is supposed to be a "sports coupe". The only reason I would consider getting one is to just J swap it but even then it would be cheaper to buy a 3.8 Genesis Coupe and have twice the power and be cheaper. Little to no after market support as well, sure it's not a reason to hate a car. I don't know its handling abilities but hopefully, it's great. Straight speed doesn't matter but I want a car that can get me through a corner as fast as possible, idk I'll have to find someone to race in the mountains but no one here ever buys one since they're pointless when a Honda is cheaper to turbo and build for track
@@dc5fallout unfortunate. It’s due to the age of the design. Beautiful to look at and rare, but underpowered. The Tiburon however, has a special place in our heart, like a flawed ex significant other who you search in Facebook and just keeps looking more attractive or perhaps a mischievous puppy.
Art is supposed to be that way, sometimes pointless yet emotion provoking. Many will keep loving it forever.
@@dc5fallout yes because it's all about speed and not reliability. Some people like cars for the styling and don't mind if it's not the most powerful vehicle, plus they tend to be pretty dependable and decent on gas mileage unlike most "competitors"
@@PenguinNoodleSoup my car gets better power more reliability and more gas mileage and it’s a 2.0 I4 engine. This car couldn’t compete with what it was going after, a Honda Accord would gap it and have more potential
