    Great Video, For anyone that is watching it is HIGHLY recommended to use a chiller on any tube that is 100 Watts and up especially if your going to do a lot of cutting. Most companies including OMTech will not warranty the tube unless you have proof of a compressor water chiller.

    Hi,
    I have watched your videos and appreciate the effort you put into helping others that are new to this. I’ve been using my laser very successfully for about 8 months now with no problems until this morning and I wanted to reach out and see if you had any advice?
    I loaded a file into Lightburn on my computer(Windows10) as I normally would and “framed” the cuts over the material. When I hit the start button, my laser went to the first fill position(a tiny circle) then stopped and would go no farther with the cut, etc. I rebooted my laser, my computer, and changed the USB cable connecting the computer to the laser and no change resulted. I did get a message at one point on the computer that said “The Laser does not appear to be connected to your computer”. If there is anything you know that might help, please share. I can’t produce anything that is ordered until this is resolved. Thank you so much in advance.

    Hi,
    Thank you for your helpful videos. I have this exact same laser and have had some issues with it but most have been resolved at this point as far as I can tell. I still get a weird error cut initially on most every file unless I first send my laser to fill in a tiny circle I add to the file being cut. It usually does exactly what it should do from that point on. I guess I am tricking it into cooperating on the file...lol. What I wish to know is at 10:03 in your video you point to what you describe as a power supply. My question is does the little fan in this unit constantly run on your laser? It does on mine and seems to be making enough sound that it is noticable. I am not sure if this is normal or not but since you have the exact same machine I am hoping you can answer this for me. Thank you so much for your help thus far.

      @@roaminrabbitt - Honestly, I finally felt ready and it was one of the few in stock (on OMTech's website.) I was originally looking at an 80W with a larger bed but it was out of stock. Then I thought about the much smaller 50W just to see if lasering was even going to be a good fit for me. Then I thought, well, if it is, I may as well have some power and bought the 100W. I have the red and black though, which has a smaller bed (20x28) than Bearded Builds Co. I would love to have that larger bed now but mine has a pass through so I will be able to do larger things using that. I am very happy with my purchase!

    Hi,
    First I would like to thank you for putting up the helpful videos on using and adjusting the OMTech laser. I have aligned my mirrors, performed a ramp test, adjusted the autofocus on my machine and it will cut and etch properly when it carries out the instructions sent from Lightburn through the USB. There is an issue that I am running into that is costing me a lot of wasted material and time and I hope you can help me solve this. As an example, if I pull up a file of a circle or anything in Lightburn and send it to my laser, it will usually cut the file to perfection on the first time when I run it, however; if I send the file to the laser to cut the same file again, the laser will often start the cut inside the circle and cut a short straight line out to the edge of the circle then proceed to cut the outside path of the circle and stop before the circle has been “closed” or completed. The panel on my 100 watt machine(Ruida Panel) shows the complete circle with no such error. It’s as if the laser is not following the file instructions on additional cuts. Any help will be greatly appreciated. For the record I have subscribed to your channel and the information that you are posting is very help to those of us that are just getting started. I love my machine, I just need to get it to work consistently so that it will be of practical use to me. Thanks!

      @@BeardedBuildsCo I'm sold buddy. You think it'll be an issue to scale the 100 watts power down to 20-30ish % in order to cut and engrave 1.5mm leather patches? Thanks again for all your help!

    do you think I can do ammo cans with this?"

    • @BeardedBuildsCo
      @BeardedBuildsCo  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep! Any of the co2 lasers could do the metal coated/painted ammo cans. The thing you want to check is the z clearance.

    • @mkdyver
      @mkdyver ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s was I was Wondering was about the clearance this is the exact laser I was interested in. I think As long as it has more then 6” of clearance I’ll be good. Thanks for the reply!

      Here is the review... it’s awesome! It has more than doubled my production and it has been able to tackle all the project that I have thrown at it. The bigger bed has been a game changer and I wish I would have started with this machine.

    I bought one of these, What a piece of Shit. So many manufacturing defects and broken parts. So bad that I sent it back. Don't buy OMtech lasers.
