Theres no escaping the heat in these vans. It's a hot box! This is a part one video on how I stay cool in my van during the summer months. Stay tuned for part 2.
Insulated shades and blackout curtains are a great way to keep your motorhome cool and prying eyes out. I used blackout shades in my home, cutting my cooling bill in half. Comment below and let me know how you keep your motorhome and home cool in the summer months.

Take off running… I would too 😂😂😂! When we travel, my goal is to always make sure we’re inside before dark. Unless it’s a special occasion like when we wanted to see the lights at Niagara Falls BUT you better believe I was speed walking back to the room. Amari was in the stroller then 🤷🏽♀️😂😂😂.

Hi Tiffany! Thanks for this vidro! Just today I bought reflective so I can make sun shades for the side windows in my car. It gets so hot here in the desert summers. Not only do the cars get hot when parked in a lot, the sunlight damages the interior leather and fabric. I look forward to a cooler car when I get out of the grocery store!

Great vlog when I was contemplating doing vanlife I was worried about the summer time even spring. I don't like being hot or warm I feel miserable, I keep my home 67-70 max that's my comfort zone so that was it for me good tips.

@Travel by Faith I am doing the samething! I am using my sedan (car) that's all I can afford the car I already own. I desire RV Class C can't afford it. I used foam black card board from dollar tree and black duct tape from dollar tree for my windows work great keep sun 🌞 out and privacy it gives a tinted black look so dark in my car 🚗 when camping it looks like blackout curtains. It was super cheap 5 car windows and the front window I used the traditional car cover shades I camped in my car 🚗 8 days at the beach and others places. I have shower and toilet set up for the shower, I use out door using my car doors, shades in windows, magnets 🧲, and shower curtain. When I can't do it that way I use the Dr Bronners wash up method inside car and for toilet I have a 5 gallon bucket, peat moss, cedar shavings, 5 trash bags over 5 gallon bucket 🪣, with pvc foam pipe for cushion around rim for comfort. Battery fans, black tshirt for one window that is open I roll down window and place the black tshirt over the window like a sock method allowing air flow and block bugs etc from entering.

I had no real destination but I did go to Missouri and I did a road trip to find the largest 📫. I want to go to Niagara Falls next summer. I watched your video and it looked like fun.

I used 3M adhesive spray when I added fabric to my reflectix. It was a quick and effective project. Thanks for sharing 👍🏾
Its funny you mentioned that because I deleted the 3M part from my video. I tried 3M, and it didn't work at all. 😉

Whew! That light from the neighbor's motor home looked bright! I would not be able to sleep with that coming through the window. Thank goodness for the shades! Awesome video!
It was super bright - lite of up the whole campground. 🤣 but I couldn't see anything throughout my blackout shades and curtains. 🙌🏿

Yes my clip fans and window covers have saved me big time. With out those window covers it's a good 15 to 20 degrees hotter. With air circulation it makes it doable here in California on 100 degrees or more.

Enjoyed your video! Yes, its very hot where I am. 90s every day. I have metabolic issues and I really have to be careful not to get dehydrated or overheated. I need to try darkening curtains for more of my windows. Even though I'm living in a small sticks and bricks home, I'm learning a LOT from your videos!

Nice installation. Be sure to lock up first thing when you get in. Have you considered installing a 5,000 BTU air conditioner in the rear window? Some vans have them. Look it up on TH-cam.

Great idea for the felt...wish I would have seen this 4 yrs ago...LOL! We use that insulation in a West facing single pane picture window and bedroom windows. DEFINITELY reduces the heat by 10+ degrees. Spaceship house from May to Sept 🤣🤣
