One of my favorite Prince songs. Carmen Vandenberg and co did an amazing cover.

That was the version he played live. They did a great job.
There is no "rock version." They just amped up the guitar (a little too much IMO) because the keyboards and bass were always key to this song. Would have loved to hear the double bass drum. Nice tribute.
This owes a lot to the 3rdEyeGirl version - the best version of this song by a country mile.

This was one of Prince's best but you made it shine even brighter.
Prince is incomparable. This was a really good cover. The guitarist is amazing! I am happy that they are keeping his music alive and although he disliked covers, I think he would like that they are bringing his music to new generations. Transcendence!

One of my very favorites in a long list of favorites! I don't really know a lot of Jeff Beck, but I'll start listening to hear Carmen V, awesome playing on an awesome Tele
And this was a B-side. I’ve always wondered why it wasn’t used in the Purple Rain album. It fits perfectly and would’ve been a billboard hit if it was released as an official single.

Sounds great. The singer here actually has a better lower register voice than Prince did . (Prince was unrivaled with his falsetto though!). Ironically, Prince's lawyers would probably already have this taken down if he were still alive. ;)
When Prince was alive, I did a rendition of "Forever In My Life. It was heavy on drums and had a Latin feel. Someone, I believe Tyka, commented on my TH-cam video. I think it was her, because at the time, she was working for Prince and her job was to initiate internet takedowns of Prince's material. Anyway, whoever it was, said, "I can't tell if that's Prince singing or not. I know he would be proud." The next day, my video was gone! 😂

So here’s the thing. This group did an amazing job that cannot be denied. But why? Why are we remaking it? I don’t know, maybe it’ll just still emotional to me. Just not a big fan of people redoing his music expect for the Revolution. That chick is bad!! For real tho!! Don’t get me wrong, but I keep hearing Prince screaming and I realize well of course?? Can’t nobody but Prince scream , well? Maybe Jill? Anyway I’m saying this all with good hearted intentions not meaning at all to tear down. Hope it’s not being seen that way. So good job!

Yes PRINCE wrote an AMAZING song and AS USUAL with anything SOULFUL and FUNKY it gets WATERED DOWN and SCREWED UP by a bunch of hipsters.....sigh !!! The VOCALIST did a good job though, just WISH you had some SOULFUL players behind you...
The voice shouldn't hold the same melodic line as the guitar in the chorus, on "she's always in my hair". Missing harmonies there.
All good aside from the bass, too soft. Punch some of notes and wobble the string on the 'whenever i feel like giving up'
I dig the arrangement, and appreciate what everyone brings to the table here, but I’m just not feeling the singer’s contribution at all. I feel like saying “sorry”, but at the end of the day, it’s just my opinion. I’m not stating he’s a bad singer (he’s not), I just don’t think his dynamic slots in with the rest of the group in this instance.
