  • This bike is on another level and I couldn't be more grateful to the community. Every like, share, subscription, comment, and view has helped grow the channel to the point where companies offered discounts to me.

    Welcome to the future; once you go high pivot it's very, very hard to go back. 😅 Wicked build, solid riding and a very polished video too. Stoked for you man! 🤘
    ...and thanks for the shoutout, I really appreciate that. 🙂

      Thanks Dale, that means a lot to me! Yeah man I'm really enjoying the bike. I was thinking of titling the video "Dale Stone Said I Needed This" haha

    Congrats on new bike, just to mention that I had a bike from Jenson and when I got in an accident with it they worked with the manufacturer and got me a Crash replacement Frame with amazing discount.

      thanks! That's great to hear Jenson was able to work with the manufacturer to help you out. You recover from the accident?

    Sweet bikes. I'll keep my eyes peeled for you out locally. Ive had my 24 optic since April and love it. Somewhat of a baby high pivot and a blast to ride.

      @MTB_Corbin yep, mostly had experience with hardtails and horst link fs bikes. A buddy is on a deviate and seems to primarily ride that since owning, so it must be pretty flawless to pick it for any ride.

    • @MTB_Corbin
      @MTB_Corbin  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Horst link is tried and true... so many companies use that platform. Since owning the highlander, I haven't really been riding my hardtail or ebike either. I tried the ebike the other day and the highlander is just infinitely more fun. Although it is hard to beat 3500ft in an hour 15 on the ebike lol

    Dale Stone is also why I looked into and got my Deviate Claymore! Stoked to ride it some more once my head is back to normal from this stupid covid situation!
    Is that the new Onyx 38? Highly recommend getting some metallic pads for the XT brakes, I bought Shimano OEM w/ fins but also have used TruckerCo which are super cheap. Helped a lot with power on my Fuel EXe.

      Thanks man! One of the only other people in WA I've seen on a Deviate haha. This is the Onyx SC D1 so equivalent to 36. 38 stanchions are just too stiff me.

    You make a great point about a lot of us being over-biked. I'm looking at an Evil Offering or Ibis Ripley, both of which are significantly less "enduro" than my current bike. I demoed an Ibis Exie at Mountain Bike Oregon last week and, though it's a solidly "trail" bike, I had way, way more fun on it.

    • @MTB_Corbin
      @MTB_Corbin  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      it's so true! modern bikes are incredibly good these that it's easy to pedal a big bike, but really the less travel trail bikes are just more fun. Sometimes though more travel is better, but I found my sweet spot is 160 front and 150 rear.

    Man that bike is sweet! I hit Tehaleh this weekend for the first time after watching your video. Its an awesome place but really showed me how much I need to learn and upgrade my bike after a gnarly OTB on Rhythm and Berms 😂.

    Nice!!! I've eyeballed the Deviate and it is on my list of bikes to check out when it is time to move on from my Strive CFR. NOBL wheels are awesome as well, I've run the TR37's on a couple bikes and loved them! Liked them even better than my current i9 carbon's.

    Stoked to see your new bike man! I recently went from Code brakes to XTs hopefully my experience helps a little. I switched from the metallic finned Shimano brake pads to MTX Red pads and they increased the power for me, and are far quieter. I used the MTXs on my Code brakes too, and they also improved them. If you're looking for a way to elevate the XTs a bit, might be worth checking them out! Cheers!

    • @MTB_Corbin
      @MTB_Corbin  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you! I love me some MTX red pads... used them exclusively on the yeti and my ebike. I didn't htink they hade them compatible for shimano, which do you order?

      @@MTB_Corbin They're solid for sure! Great question. I think they're listed as "Shimano 4-Piston ALL" on their website. It'll list out the specific models that it'll work with once you select that from the drop down!

      @@MTB_Corbin I've had it almost 3 years now. I've tried other frames during that time, but keep going back to the Highlander. I run a Zeb 160 and Ohlins air.

    • @MTB_Corbin
      @MTB_Corbin  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Even though the frame is 3 years old, it still feels better than the most modern bikes. Have you had any issues with it that I should be aware of? Grease the pivot points, extra idler concerns, etc?

      @@MTB_Corbin not really. Just keep it cleaned and lubed. It did not like SRAM AXS for some reason. Switched to XT and it’s been fine.
