    I bought the NEJE Max 3 v2 before I come across your video. Just got it, have it laid out, about to assemble. I've never touched a laser before. But after shopping around for a couple of weeks, it was the best buy. I got it with the E40, but got out the door tt&l for about $490. I'm going to get the lightburn and hopefully will be up and running soon. It's big! 32" x 18" basically. Had to build a massive table for it

    Hi from Australia Rich,
    great vid. This made up my mind on getting the neje. I'm extremely happy with the power and accuracy of it. no one told me how time consuming dialing it in would be though haha. part of the fun though and only needs doing once if notes are taken and done properly.
    thanks for your lightburn college playlist. It was (and continues to be) an extremely great help.
    Keep up the great work.

    Nice review Rich. Having seen it in action I am more convinced to get it. After commenting on Facebook that it would be nice if it was over 1000mm in length then it would be perfect, I noticed on the Neje site that there is an extension kit effectively doubling the Y axis length and that is huge! This is a well designed product whereby any owner can upgrade at their own pace.

I did download your cbl file for the A404640 but it is a little lacking, do you have one that has more settings (engrave, more Materiels). I looked at the xTool 10w and may use that and tweak it but if you had one so much the better. The tubing and air assist use a much smaller diameter tubing line than what the pump tap uses. I believe the line that fits the air assist is 2.5mm (or 3/32") ID tubing and the pump tap uses 3/16" ID tubing. What are you using to get everything to fit correctly? I don't see the difference that even makes a 20W diode necessary. 7-10W Seems to be the secret number if you ask me. Seems that above that you're in the Co2 price range and might as well go that way instead.

    Hi Rich , nice review. I have 2 Q's;
    1- can it cut 8-10mm oak plywood?my sculpfun S9 used to cut 8mm ply but after some use it's unable to..(even after cleaning)
    2-Neje website doesn't recommended going over %80 power for prolonged use, do you have any time - power graph ,bc it would be nice to see the power drop over time because to be honest no one is going to stay under %80 .. and using daily at %100 will definitely shorten its life but I don't know how much , if you have a approximate graph I'd appreciate it..
    Thanks

    I’m new to lasers.
    I’m getting info everyday since the last 2 weeks and I think im buying the NEJE, but I have doubts between the A40640 and the E40 modules. Mainly I would use it for wood veneer cutting, don’t know if I’ll make many engravings in the beginning but I don’t want to be closed to that option.
    The A40640 seems to be more complete but I’m worried about having to be continually changing the focus adjustment. Is it complicated to find the sweet spot? The E40 seems to be easier for a rookie.
    Thank you Rich.

      Both work well Juan. The A40640 only needs to be focused once. I suggest turning the lens all the way clockwise and running a ramp test.

    Question on the M7/M8 setup you have. If you are using a tankless air compressor (I use a pretty large Airbrush compressor for example) Is there really any need for the M8 air solenoid valve? Couldn't I just connect the airline from the compressor directly to the air assist like I have now and use the relay connected to M8 to turn the compressor on and off as needed? That would eliminate an extra component and simplify everything. The only reason I can think of to need the air solenoid would be if the air supply was coming from a tank or tank type compressor.

    For the Z1, there's a spare header on the board that natively works w/ lightburn air assist toggle. No M codes needed. It runs on 19V logic which seems odd since the PS is 24v. I just need to CAD and print a case for my SSR to run the pump. The jack on the board uses the same plug as endstops.

      The laser is staying on in lower power even when at idle is to assist positioning and focus adjustment, low power brightness can be adjusted by software. Dear friend, what is your opinion about the module laser 20w output from atomstack (combined 4 laser) In front of the product of neje 3 max?
    I have ortur laser master 2 Pro and I want to upgrade it to more powerful laser, I want your opinion because you're the best!

    • @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
      @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I don't have the 20W quad diode so I can't give you an informed answer. But I do know that collimating 4 diodes is not going to give you the engraving detail that a 5 or 10W will because the spot size will be rectangular, and not square. I am extremely satisfied with almost any 5 or 10W for my diode engraving since I work mostly with hobby wood. Diode lasers are made for engraving, and for engraving, less is more. In fact, I still use my 3 year old 1.5W laser when I want really fine engravings on expensive pieces. What I look for is the spot size. You need the smallest spot and it needs to be square for really fine, professional engraving. You won't get that above 5W optical output, unless you get a really expensive USA made 7W single diode. If you need speed for cutting, then sure, go with the 20W, it will outperform any other diode laser for cutting, but I focus more on engraving.

    Have tried to set this machine up in lightburn. somehow it seems that the machine thinks its workspace is besides the actual worksite in lightburn. machne is trying to travel outside the workplatform. yes dimensions are typed in correctly. but laser cant find center of page or anything else. when moving it on the arrows. the laserhead moves correctly, left to left and right to right but the y axis moves opposite way as expected. when clicking down it moves up visa versa. cant get it ot run correctly.
