Cedric Reyes Hi . My name is venkatesh , computer science engineer from india (tamilnadu) .. I am here to ask help , my friend finished flight dispatcher course from shepherd aircraft , USA .. please help my frnd to get job . 9840399386 9003285767 my whatsapp number
Am currently working on my ppl am thinking of doing this job so I can fund for my cpl and also have aviation experience other than flying. Looks better on your resume too when you looking for a pilot job
I am a 47 year-old aviation enthusiast and native English speaker, in the rare position of being able to choose a second career for myself with no financial or status-driven restrictions. My Myers-Briggs personality typing is off-the-scale INTJ. My two questions: One, does BAA Training think that 47 is too old to begin training as a flight dispatcher; two, does BAA agree that an INTJ personality type might be unusually well-suited to this career?

Dave Wright Not necessarily. I was in Dispatch school with everyone aged 23-55+ I think the largest hurdle at later ages would simply be employer bias being toward the younger dispatcher that’s able to grow into the company for a longer period of time. That said, you do likely have the upper hand in handling day to day stressful situations by experience :-)
I read somewhere in an aviation book that Wing is the Heart of an Aircraft. But 5:16 it says Engine is the heart of the plane??? i'm confused now. A glider is also an aircraft which has no engines. Please clear me out. Thank You!
Not stressful, but if you like mental challenges, dealing with more than one situation at a time, and staying busy on the job, you will like it. Check out Delta's OCC - can't paste but search for Realistic Job Preview of Flight Dispatch
if memory serves ... at a smaller airline these jobs either overlap or are the same person ... larger airlines, the coordinator handles most scheduling items such as crew, logistics of items like transportation, hotels, meals etc... whereas the dispatcher prepares the pilots and crew and the plane to move from one location to another with flight briefings, weather, plane scheduling, refueling etc...
Hii.. I have a qstn.. I want to be a student in this course... But I have a colour blindness defect, is it have any medical check up on the interview? Please replay to my question
In Indonesia, you can't pass medical examination because you must be able to read the chart correctly. Flight Dispatcher must pass Class 3 Medical Certificate. It is states on CASR Part 67 - Medical Standards and Certification, 67.405 for class 3 visual requirement.
Amazing!! Cant wait for my license in two months!

Same type of question for me. Retired emergency communications dispatcher and 51yo. Is that too old?

I think that the max is 31 years old for starting the license
First time I see a flight dispatcher working in an office, and not at aircraft.

Im at a crossroads in my life and im considering pursuing this career. What is it really like? very stressful?
Not stressful, but if you like mental challenges, dealing with more than one situation at a time, and staying busy on the job, you will like it. Check out Delta's OCC - can't paste but search for Realistic Job Preview of Flight Dispatch
Can be stressful at times if you get the payload inaccurate. But it's not as worse as being ATC.
Whats the difference between a dispatcher and a coordinator?
if memory serves ... at a smaller airline these jobs either overlap or are the same person ... larger airlines, the coordinator handles most scheduling items such as crew, logistics of items like transportation, hotels, meals etc... whereas the dispatcher prepares the pilots and crew and the plane to move from one location to another with flight briefings, weather, plane scheduling, refueling etc...

In america, you may be a flight dispatcher while you are colorblind
