Very interesting, I've been to Cedar Key many many times and never knew they raised clams there. I knew you could get scallops but thought clams were more Northern Atlantic. Very nice to know but it looks like some hard work.
I have been eating clams my whole life, but mostly raw. The clams from cedar key are GREAT steamed or in a dish. However, they just do not have that wonderful Briney taste from a cold water clam. Good Vid !
Nobody can "poor mouth" their income or survival better than a fisherman. They are natural born liars. Follow them home and see what they live in, I'll bet it ain't too shabby.
@@gbuster129 It’s odd that people bitch about farmers with a full stomach know they can either cook whatever they want in their kitchen or drive to a restaurant close to home and feed their faces. Farmers walk a precarious line often harvesting the food you eat with a piece of equipment that cost them more than your house. Grow your own food if you have a problem with our farmers…..stand up for your thoughts and don’t give any of them your money. That will teach them.
My friends Fred and Billy used to grow clams here. Billy has since passed away.
Thanks for such great content
@MrHippie17 Thanks for the comment. It was fun filming the process. Nice folks too!
What a great video, keep up the sustainable work!
My cousin clam farmed in Cedar Key. Last name was Calvert. Do you know them?
I did not know Cedar Key was known for clams. This is very interesting.
Good little documentary. I enjoyed it!
Great vid!

Here's a live song from the Big Deck Raw Bar about waking up to a Cedar Key sunrise. :)
Where can I purchase these?

+Danger Close Farmers are better at it than fishermen. They get government welfare by the bushell.
