Joy and I are here today...loving every minute. We are from Zephyrhills, FL...about two hours south...and we come to Cedar Key often to totally relax. There's no place like Cedar Key, and this video captures the spirit of the community. We love it!
Ian and Darren at The Firefly Cottages (formerly Mermaid's Landing) treated us like royalty. We just showed up and were very comfortable just being ourselves. Everyone in Cedar Key are so friendly; we met several new friends there. They take the time with you, which is something very rare these days.
If you ever visit Cedar Key, visit the Cedar Key Inn and ask about their ghost of the child who died and was found in their water cistern. We love Cedar Key❤!
I'm from Yankeetown, I used to go to Cedar Key as a kid. Coastal Levy County is beautiful, we need to protect old Florida and stop Desantis from building his highways through our communities.
As a Chiefland small horse farm and rescue we couldnt agree with you more . We happen to be in the 4 mile corridor , 1 mile from 19 and most likely will lose our farm to concrete . My grandfather owned a place on the river in Yankee town back in the 30s and 40s Theres nothing good about progress !
What's ironic about this The title says "City at the end of the road" Many moons ago on the spring of 1992, my graduation class picked the song by Boys to Men And their version of "So hard to say goodbye II Yesterday" The line in the song Says "I don't know where this road will lead" SR 24 goes to the end of the Street and you make a left, make your way to the beach and city park, or go around the "Big Dock" and make your way back out of town on 24, back to Bronson or perhaps Gainesville, in my case it was Ocala for 11 years, then moved back to my home state of Ohio I will always remember the interesting times of the five years I spent in Cedar Key
Wonderful depiction of our beloved Little Island!!!
Excellent short film. 👋🤠 hello from Orange Springs
