As it sits, this is the Calligraphy line of Santa Fe. Just bought one for my wife yesterday. Waiting to have it brought in from the manufacturer in Alabama. Really beautiful vehicle.
I bought one Saturday but for myself! Your wife and you will love it! There are so many customizable features! Only gotten through a third of them so far!
Oh yes it is quiet! We had a 2021 Rav 4 Hybrid - it was so noisy we couldn't stand it within a month the fan had to be replaced under the passenger seat and then another fan type noise came from the back- and it couldn't be fixed - the doors and windows were rattling, the road noise was so loud and it just rode "rough" for the cost it was a big disappointment - so we are now the proud owners of a 2022 Santa Fe Calligraphy model and we could not be happier!!
Yup. Just got a limited trim grey interior. The tech is impressive. This is the same engine as the gv70. So a few modifications will increase horsepower and a new custom exhaust.
Hello there - thanks for this review with it's many details! I watched it several times and it, among a few others helped me make the decision to purchase a Hyunda Santa Fe Calligraphy - as it happens - Stormy Blue. I received it (from factory order) last week and I LOVE IT!!!
This was a great review, just what buyers need. I am looking for a mid sized SUV with a bench second seat and don't need a third seat. Two questions: 1. I want a quiet riding vehicle, is this quiet as compared to others in the class? 2. If you wanted to choose the top one or two competitors to this vehicle, which ones would u consider?
I really like mine, it is pretty quiet. My old car had a sport suspension and low profile tires so I am used to hearing more road noise and feeling bumps. I don't know if it's a pro or con, but I kind of miss that feeling with this vehicle. There's another youtube reviewer who looked at the underbody and there was a LOT of soundproofing. I chose it over the Subaru Forrester, Toyota RAV4, and Honda CRV.
Just picked up this exact vehicle after driving the 2022 Limited trim for 3 months prior. IMO, the Calligraphy is not worth the extra $$. The added features are gimmicks at best. The 20" wheels with lower profile tires make the ride harsher than the Limited with 19's, the ambient lighting is very dim even at night and at full brightness and it shows in 3 places in the interior. The HUD is hard to see during the day with shades on, and if you have it on, the speed limit (traffic signs) disappears from the instrument cluster.
I recently purchased the 2022 SE model and it is a great vehicle. I appreciate gadgets and gizmos (LOL), but one, they are not cheap and two, the likelihood of me using all of them is slim to none (LOL). I got a great deal and plenty of comfort with the base/manufacturer model. #Facts💯👊🏽
I have a '19 top end one and when my lease is up going into a 22 calligraphy for the additional power, power folding mirrors and blind spot cameras ,. The interior changing lights is a bonus. I would get a gv70 but i fear it might be a little too small for me
Can't believe they didn't fix that android auto wireless for the bigger trim wth so u pay more and u have something less🤦♂️🤦♂️ same thing with the Palissade 🤦♂️
Just bought a 2022 Santa Fe calligraphy and the android auto still isn't wireless. Pretty sad. The lower models get it but the more expensive models don't. Kind of garbage if you ask me that they don't have the wireless tech for the supposed "Top of the line" models.
How good is the air conditioner unit. We live in the south and the issue with my current vehicle is it does not cool good. And takes forever to cool down.
In sport mode with the paddle shifters my '21 2.5 Turbo borderlines on violent if I want it to be, gobs of power....and normal driving it's VERY smooth....10k miles so far, it's great....
Nice review. I am honestly thinking of a Calligraphy but have one huge issue and it's the placement of the rear blinker lights. Anyone other than me disappointed and worried about safety with the low placement of those rear blinker lights? I am baffled as to their placement. I don't want to be rear-ended or have issues trying to change lanes on the highway. Were the safety gurus at Hyundai asleep on this one??
I followed our new Calligraphy while my wife was driving it and I honestly didn't have an issue with that. You've probably heard the saying, "if its too loud, you're too old". There's a similar saying, "if you can't see low placed turn signals, you're too f***ing close" 😄
Attention to detail: “This is absolutely where ‘Hundai’ (sic) destroys it”. Firstly, what is “Hundai”? Secondly, don’t you mean: “This is where Hyundai absolutely nails it”. But great review mate!
I need to see the Canadian version for the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Preferred. Everything I see is for the top end Calligraphy or the base model. Do you ever cross the border for reviews, Ponyboy? 🗽
Yes, plus the fact that there's always a little more wind noise when the sliding headliner is open to the panoramic roof like he had it. It is a lot quieter when the headliner is closed.
I’m 5 1’ and can’t reach the pedal. Does it have adjustable accelerate pedal? Or cruise control? My knee kills me. How can I make the pedal come forward?
They really could offer premium sound and bigger info screen to base models for just a few hundred dollars. The reason they didn;t is why do it when they can make you pay 10K more to get the top trim
What did I say, Hyundai Santa fe is europe class who did always put forward convenience drive everyone know that moreover in Indonesia Will be new fan. amazing, Korean car company.
Doesn’t the limited and calligraphy have spare tires and not the kit. I’m not rolling with a kit. I need a real tire like that would literally take this off the list.
@@rakhsiprayogo82 rav4 is overpriced as well. CRV is extremely weak of a vehicle. Also rav4 has major fuel tank issue with horrible alignment issues from factory that destroy tires. My wife just bought the Limited a few days ago. My initial thoughts are that it drives well, but there is nothing intuitive about the technology. It's just a mishmash of buttons. I've driven dozens of cars over a 40 year period and never have I seen this configuration in the U.S. Terrible decision. Once a few people get killed looking at the wrong gauge and they get sued, they'll fix this and allow you to switch gauge locations.
I’ve never driven a car without the speedometer being on the left. Throughout the years Ford, Nissan, BMW, Oldsmobile, Mitsubishi, Genesis Coupe, and now Santa Fe. So not sure what you drove.
Is it a piece of black leather in the beige interior on a back seat from the left side? :) Looks like they missed a piece of beige leather and put a black one instead :)

The base engine+transmission on the 2022 XRT is the worst in the 10+ cars I've owned. Acceleration power is virtually non-existent from stop or any speed. Forget about a quick lane change with oncoming traffic, or getting up to speed quickly from a stop. Perhaps this car is decent with the turbo engine, but otherwise stay away, much better options out there for the mid $30k spent on this car. There is also noticeable vibration on the steering wheel, as if the tires need balancing, even though it's brand new.
