    That’s just awesome. Exactly what I’m looking to do soon. Started on an efoil and now starting to wake. Have u got any attention from other sea life. Wondering what would dolphins make of it. Would they be up for some tow-ins and stuff!

    Nick - this is by far the best video and holistic viewpoint I've seen about foiling/downwinding. Can I message you direct? - I have a proposal for you

    you need to be on your game to be able to do this. If you eat it out there, you're basically paddling back. Unless you have another way to get back up on your foil?

    Hello Nick. Heading to La Ventana next month (usually 15-25 knots in the afternoon). I have been Efoiling with Lift 4'2" and wake foiling and pumping on flatwater. I have the Lift 170 High Aspect. I'm 65kg (145lbs). Would this be a good front wing to try and practice downwinding on in La Ventana? I'm also taking a Foil Drive Assist + for help. Which length mast do you prefer -- 28" or 32"?

    In all seriousness. What do you do if you go down half mile out? That's a long paddle home.

  • @brianmallen8887
    @brianmallen8887 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    But you've got to KNOW the ocean, right? Currents; undertows; It looks awesome. This is for the aquatically fit only right? It looks like the foils move fast. Real fast. Is it harder than surfing? Is there a leash? You can't get stuck five miles off shore, getting chased by aquatic creatures...Damn what a thrill it must be a couple of feet over the water, Iike flying.

    I can imagine you could make a shirt with some mini sails that you could pull out with your hands to catch more wind when it is advantageous.

    What your 3-8" AUW?
    (The aircraft gross weight (also known as the all-up weight and abbreviated AUW) is the total aircraft weight at any moment during the flight or ground operation)

    Wow look at 04:20 how easy it is to pop the wingtip out of the water. Its a completely different ride compared to kite/surf foil with barely no turning just gliding and pumping straight downwind.

    Nick, are you able to paddle/pump back on to the foil if you wipe out all the way out there? Would be great to see how you do this.

    • @LiftFoils
      @LiftFoils  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      paddle maybe, but that's the biggest challenge here... when you wipe you've got to get back or get back up

    • @macrumpton

      @@LiftFoils I wonder if you could have some a rocket assist powered by a couple of CO2 cartridges to give you enough kick to get going?

    I want to confirm are you suggesting doing this on a typical lift e-foil minus the heavy battery? A different lift foil (NON Efoil)? Please clarify and even add a link to the equipment you suggest. Great video.

    • @PaulGoingBig
      @PaulGoingBig 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No - using a high aspect surf foil system. Different than an e-foil.

      This is on a lift classic foil setup you can find under "Surf" and Liftfoils.com

    WHY .. did this guy not YET produce a BOARD with super cool LEDs in it and LEDs on his suit and then ride thru miami at NIGHT !! with the water surface reflecting all lights. and it needs underwater ligths at teh far end too. neon green , neon blue and purple ligths.. AND u need to make a version with a high velocity propeller that is controlled by small hand remote.
