Good for you giving it a go. One major thing I decided when designing my van fitout was ensuring I could get into the drivers seat internally as a solo female vanlifer.
I totally wish that I had that in our build... it's perhaps my one big regret with the fitout. If I was travelling alone it would be an absolute must for sure!
@@jessiwandering it was a non negotiable for me. No way was I risking having to exit my vehicle to leave in a hurry if I needed to. It’s only me so I have to be sure I am safe. It’s been an incredibly empowering experience travelling solo and living in my van. Sometimes lonely, but I just make sure I’m out and about each day. You’ve got a new Sub. I too am trying to grow my channel and it takes a lot of effort. Step by step. Keep up the great content 🚐😍
We loved watching this! If we lived there Maudey would have been over in a jiffy to help with the DIY but we were both so super impressed with what you did! I could never do that. Can't wait to watch more!
Thank you! I certainly would have loved that @@AshFleming ! It may not be perfect but I think we got the job done 😬 Plenty more spot jobs we left to take care of while we’re on the road, and new ones that seem to appear each day!
@@jessiwandering I’m up in Ravenshoe on the Atherton Tablelands, gorgeous drive up here from Innisfail up the Palmerston Highway. Ravenshoe is the highest town in QLD. We have a lovely cool climate all year round
Save some money, change all part fluids the van maintances manual says, 50 & 100 k cause a tow in the bush will cost thousands and weeks of detour, & all of these parts are expected to fail. Used...... don't skim here. any van or car owner knew they would be selling yes ahead and no sense to spend on it. Even carry a new charge battery
Thanks for the tips! We certainly have had our fair share of days with the professionals getting all the maintenance sorted out. We researched long and hard, and believe we have done our due diligence there - fingers crossed! 🤞
So encouraging to see that I’m not the only person who takes ages to do what seemed beforehand to be a simple task 😊
Definitely not! Sometimes I redo it 3 times just for good measure too!
I just picked up a 2001 Mercedes van! It's a bit smaller than this one, postie van size. I can't wait to start building it!
Yay congratulations! ✨ Love my sprinter - she’s been great. Good luck and enjoy the journey!
This was so inspiring ah loved seeing you work through the build!!!
Ahhh thanks girl! It was a brain bender just doing those small odd jobs!
I don't know how I stumbled on this but I'm a coastie with a van too! Yours looks so good compared to my meagre effort. I'll watch you for ideas.
Amazing!! What are the chances! Thanks for the kind words and connecting ☺️
I always love watching other van fitout videos after making some mistakes in my own van build.
Vanlife really rocks

Will you be doing a van tour ? 😊
@@rachelkelly7117 I think it’s a must! Will need to set aside a day when the van is fairly tidy haha!
