I think you mean the T-Link Ripper. The Slasher is a weapon you can give other mechs/pilots. Most weapons that require that start off their name with the words "T-Link". Like Ryusei's R 1's T-Link Knuckle and T-Link Sword.

I think in the super robot wars that the Huckbeins originated in they were supposed to be alternate design of the gundam ie why they look like gundams.

Always thought the GuarBein looked pretty awesome, the Guarlion head suits the body quite well, shame Elzam/Ratsel only had a regular Huckebein in the game

I'm glad they kept the Guarlion trombe in the anime. It was such an intimidating unit in OG1... much more threatening looking, too.
