Stunning. As beautiful as Nouvel's Louvre. Hope they build all of Saadiyat-projects. If not, they should build the Gehry Guggenheim or Nouvel Louvre here in Oslo!
Totally escaped the linear, symmetrical and curve-linear repeated movements. Messy and might be an eyesore to others but this is what Gehry is, his freedom to do everything and express everything in his Architecture. This is so cool.
My fifth professor, who was a genius, would say “Gehry is just master bating” But I do think his work is interesting.Not sure about the building meeting the program requirements. As I know employees and firms fired for not meeting program requirements and budget!
The people of this project try to get culture by spending lots and lots of money. I think, this will never work. They need less wrapping but more content. And they need to show their culture and not our (the western) culture.
I think they have seen enough Western culture in the form of glass skyscrapers, cars and giant shopping malls. Some weird, well shaded museums meant to become local landmarks won't do any harm.
What an extraordinarely messy mess, even for Gehry's standards. It's not a particularely elegant or handsome mess either. Apparently, when you pile enough randomness on top of each other, it reaches a point where it gets rediculous enough for people to want to visit it.

Nowhere near Zaha Hadid’s refined and graceful work.
