I have to say they are the most , BEAUTIFUL looking yachts in the world. They got it right way back then. That is how a racing yacht should look, sleek, FAST and dare i say it....sexy. ..Well done. :-)
The sheer beauty is just awe inspiring. It's one of the most beautiful man made objects ever. I thought that they'd spray on some sealant, primer and paint before flipping it over. I'd like to see the rest of the build. Thanks.
That's awesome. You guys are so fortunate and blessed to be working and building something so worthwhile! I'd love to come to work every morning if I had a skill that would qualify me to work on something like this! Building a boat is always a good endeavor.
To describe this work as to the design and implementation as being sublime , well it is just not good enough but my vocabulary is not rich enough to do better than that. Congratulations to all the team involved in this venture.
Beautiful yacht with excellent marine engineering construction & welding. I note welders have personal breathing apparatus. There's some great alloy welding & fabrication taking place at boat builders in USA, Australia, NZ, Poland, Canada, UK and Czech Republic - using skills/techniques that originated in the aircraft industry. Water jet & laser cutting means tolerances are 'tight' !
it'll really be a Super J!! Same exact look, but a full aluminium frame (and probably carbon fiber accessories?)... it'll be much lighter and faster than the original J class ships!
.It's impressive how few people with right hardware can build and manage (move and rollover) so huge boat compared with hundreds peoples needed in twentyes for launch a comparable J calss.
An inquiry to Hoekdesign ( www.hoekdesign.com/yacht/j8-topaz ) confirms that J-7 Atlantis changed owners and was launched as J-8 Topaz in 2015 , more info here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holland_Jachtbouw
i would like to see the finished product (as well as a part 2/34 etc) if there is one. id also like to know how 9 people disliked such a piece of art. :)

the bit where they laid it on the ground to re position the slings is missing though .. looks like a lot of money there though , spectacular ,, but why the missing part in the opperation.

It's gotta be intense turning that hull. You have a million dollars + worth of labor & materials in that hull with those straps on a pretty rounded hull. "Please don't slip, please don't slip. I do some little stoppers to prevent slippage on this one but many don't and, aside from straps slipping there are a million other things that could go wrong. They have a good track record though, I have only heard of a handful falling & most of those are related to shipping.
@@aluminium3574 lol Yea, once you spot them it's pretty obvious. Rolling a large hull over still looks like a stressful procedure. There is a huge amount of material & labor already invested at this point. Years ago I used to build desert race car chassis & suspensions. I must say, that hull is very impressive work. A precision project on that scale just boggles my mind. Great work to all involved.
shananagans5 it’s always a nice moment in the building of a ship. And done this many times. Maybe you could search for j class rainbow I’ve built on that one too. But the j class ones where one of nicest I’ve worked on!
I thought the same thing so I asked them. An inquiry to Hoekdesign ( www.hoekdesign.com/yacht/j8-topaz ) confirms that J-7 Atlantis changed owners and was launched as J-8 Topaz in 2015 , more info here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holland_Jachtbouw

It is outstanding what they have done in the j class building replicas but let us not forget the laugh little boy on the Block Shamrock five jk3 is the most original true J boat left in the world Endeavor has less than 10% have original structure velsheda I cannot say all beautiful vessels but Shamrock 5 is the most original historic jaybo left in the world hoorah it was a good ride

Absolutely beautiful. The craftsmanship that goes into a yacht like this is amazing. I LOVE it! Magnificent!
Bugger me absolutely beautiful and really craftsmanship aswell very noticeable these guys know what they're doing
This boat really is a work of art both in the water and out. And even when it's in pieces, just amazing.
Incredible just speechless at the work and quality!
That is a work of art, not just a J Class machine. It was a real pleasure to see aluminum being handled like that. World class stuff.
The sheer beauty is just awe inspiring. It's one of the most beautiful man made objects ever. I thought that they'd spray on some sealant, primer and paint before flipping it over. I'd like to see the rest of the build. Thanks.

Absolutely beautiful. Art meets engineering. Beautiful beyond words.
It takes a lot to impress me; this went WAY beyond impressive.
Dave
AMAZING!!! What a good looking work of art!!!
I had the pleasure of owning a J Boat. It was a J30. I raced it in Kansas and Missouri.
WOW!!! What a Beautiful boat :-) They have to be very proud of themselves :-)
Please UPLOAD if you have any MORE FOOTAGE. I would love to see the construction of this boat from start to finish
The lines actually give me goosebumps.

Bloody well done, the Bloke with the tulips, to commission work, art as this is. A fine way to spend your guilders. The world thanks you.
Prachtig mooi werk! Klassieke romp, hypermodern materiaal en vakmanschap in beeld gebracht. Dit is nu echte “reclame”.

This is in the Netherlands, one of the best countries for this type of work
Work of art!
it'll really be a Super J!! Same exact look, but a full aluminium frame (and probably carbon fiber accessories?)... it'll be much lighter and faster than the original J class ships!
Thats why they race handicaps

Speechless.......amazing !!!
Where High Art meets engineering !
Very cool! It looks like a space ship :)
The netherlands number 1 yacht builders.
Such a beauty..Would even do as a Star Cruiser in a Star Wars movie
There should be laws against uploading videos of J class yachts in anything less than 1080p...

If anti-gravity generators and impulse drives ever get invented, you guys are the first I'll be calling to build my spaceship.
Must be radical for the crew sailing on a J in heavy weather and seas without life lines. Maybe just extra exciting.
Love the traditional style of j class boats.
I'd love to crew for you, when this is done.
That's a Whole Hell of a lot welding and grinding
"look it's heading towards that small boat" "That's no boat, that's a space station"
I was holding my breath tricky maneuvering
While moving the hull, I thought it looked like a spacecraft from Star Wars. The pilot sits where the prop goes.
Tricky job turning that J class
Looks like a dolphin. Beautiful
If you have the money then spend it. Looks like it's an awesome boat
Very nice work thanks
Pure class

Amazing, in so many ways
love that ! good luck for U guys !!!
Awesome! But why can’t the use stainless steal?
merci magnifique
Beautiful !!!
Part 2? We didn't get to see them put the finishing materials on and other things.
even on their head they look cool
Was the structural design to Paines' original design, or is that modern technology?
the bit where they laid it on the ground to re position the slings is missing though ..
looks like a lot of money there though , spectacular ,, but why the missing part in the opperation.
So, it's been almost 8 years, does the lack of any follow-up videos mean it was never completed?

Upside down, she looks like the Nautilus from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
I thought the same.
Damn! You hit upon their cunning plan.Back to the drawing board.
If anyone said to me this was built by Utopia Planitia fleet yards I would have believed him. The only things it lacks are the warp nacelles.
And it’s recyclable.

shananagans5 I worked on this hull. And you can clearly see at 7:08 there’s a stopper.

shananagans5 Nice you built desert cars! I still do some autocross. But than you most now reiger suspension
which material? aluminum or steel?, how much weight the way it is?
That's aluminum all aluminum.
Well ... the question is .. will the teatables be made of alloys or teak ;)
which costs more for a custom yacht (not a production boat), Aluminum or Fiberglass. I love aluminum.
Grace and harmony!!!
So what happened? This was posted 4 years ago and nothing else since.

It might have sailed around the world many times now, that's what happened.
Hey thanks for digging this out. I only searched for J7 so I would never have found out.
cageordie if
Thanks :)
Perfect.
I want it, Ill seel the house the wife the kids, everything just to have it, pure beauty.
Bad no no, when the keel section was being lowered onto the hull, a man was under the load.
Beautiful work. What about the American ship builders? Aircraft carriers. City, airport 5000 on board. Never the less this is beautiful art.
Brilliant !
That's a pointy boat !!
The thumbnaail could also be the Nautilus of Captain Nemo😊😊😊😊
What a Beauty!
Would love to race on one, pls send invitation 😂
J'aimerais travailler dans une usine comme ça. Mon rêve
All that welding going on without any sort of extraction! Lovely yacht though 👍
She is beautiful
Awesome.
AWESOME😃
This is the only video uploaded and the website doesn't exist anymore either.... has the build been cancelled?

Fantastic, thanks! Topaz I know, so I should have known it was originally the Atlantis.
It was melted down into ingots. Those were then sold to middle class people who wanted a part of the j class dream.
I'm drinking out of some of that J Class right now.
Faltou outro vídeo de como ficou depois de pronto.
Весьма футуристичная лодка но что-то подсказывает мне что при небольшом волнении с таким корпусом качка будет сумасшедшая!
9:01 two inquiring minds flip it over, lol.

Does anyone know how thick the aluminium they use for the hull is?
Nice boat
I would have had at least 10000 mattresses on the concrete before flipping !
Please come to SSIC shipyard at Ho Chi Minh City in Viet Nam
💪👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍I welding catamaran aluminij in Croatia 🇭🇷 and deuchland cruiser Papenburg
I bet she'll be very fast!!
Love that long pointy nose of the J's...………Beautiful shape...….
Want one.

''There is something big coming...'' 🙄
(Jurassic Park III)
Where was it built and by whom?
Whats the weight difference vs a steel version?
I want one.
Better be Bil Gates !! 😇
I have class certification of BV,ABS, and DNV
Was this boat ever finished?
undercover alien spacecraft build.
If they would have done this at night with a little creative lighting....sound the alarms...Martians...
Хотелось бы увидеть результат.
is there a part 2?
