It was the staff's fault, they didn't tell the person who was fixing the ride there was 5 cars on the track, so he had set the PC to 4 Cars, So the PC didn't stop the ride at the brakes, to close of the area. So there were 5 cars running around the track when the PC was thinking it was 4.

It was human error. Not the roller coaster. The roller coasters did exactly what it should of done. It was a human who overrid it and caused the accident
If the smiler didn't give me a breather halfway through, I don't think I'd enjoy it so much. It'd be way to much to process if it was just continuous. I love that the second lift breaks up the ride and gives me a second to stop my head spinning.
I remember when I was like 7 and the advert for the smiler came on and I wanted to go but I was too young my mum said once your old enough but when the crash happened that became a no. I'll probably got at some point

Well yeah, but for those that were involved & there when it happened, that's easier said than done. The victims on the ride may have not been killed but 2 of the 4 most seriously injured escaped with life changing injuries. Although it has been nearly 4 years since the incident, it's still going to effect the ride's reputation for a good while. The rides issues in its opening year were bad enough & the incident didn't help it. But yeah it is a great ride.

It even sounds of a collision at the end of the scream 😮.
i had been on this once literally just 3 months before the crash and i’ve been on this ride about 4 or 5 times afterwards but it will never not make me second guess my decision when we get to the area it crashed my fight or flight kicks in for about 3 seconds it’s so strange.
it's not that scary! its really good and if you're worried because of the crash, that happened years ago, they have improved a lot since then and it's now one of the safest rides in the park!
