Grayson, it’s great that you’re reading the translation of the Quran but you need to understand the context of each verse to fully understand it. Many people become misguided because they take verses from the Quran that would seem like a bad thing but the explanation behind it actually clears up any doubts about the Quran. May Allah guide you. I really do ask for you to read Tafsir because some parts of the Quran are hard to understand as it is the words of God and our knowledge is limited.

The reason it can sometimes feel so overwhelming is because after your soul recognizes the truth and its not followed up by actions, It is not followed by true submission through humility the soul will stay in a perpetual state of unrest till that submission happens. The concept of preaching doesn't exist in Islam. Its about reasoning, questioning your intellect and being in touch with your innate disposition. The soul craves that submission because that is what it was created for. To worship God alone.

and you feel strangled and suffocated by everyone is because as you are already aware that this a public platform. Too many different reactions, too many voices in your ears and mind(including this one) instead of more reliable and reputed sources of knowledge and information i.e scholars and learned people. With that being said, I love watching you on this journey. It makes us Muslims happy when people recognize the truth, wake up and seek knowledge. It boosts our morale and makes us happy for you. It also exhibits the incredible mercy of Allah (SWT) on His creation.

Many verses of the Quran, were revealed when an event occured. Unlike the Bible and most religious scriptures, the Quran does not record the circumstances that leads to a verse being revealed. The people at the time of the revelation would know what the revelation means (because they were facing the circumstances that led to the verse being revealed), but later people would have to refer to hadith and history to understand what went on at that time

    • @markorbit4752

That's funny.....because the Qur'an is said to be the uncreated word of your god. So the Qur'an ALWAYS existed and had no beginning. Yet, when people visited Muhammed and stayed too long, Allah sent the verse which always existed to address this particular situation. When Muhammed's soldiers wanted to have s€x with slaves, a verse was revealed for this......Might it be that muhammed was making the verses up as he went ahead?

@@markorbit4752 no he can't be making it up along the way because then Muhammad pbuh would not have brought a book which has elevated the Arabic language and anyone that studied language would point to the Quran as a top tier literary work.
if he would've made it up he would have made errors and mistakes over the course of 23 years of revelation such that it would be the most memorized book today AND one which has been memorized since his lifetime to now with verifiedable chains and be preserved perfectly. ALSO he would not have influenced the region in the way he did. THE PEOPLE around him would not go on to defeat both the Persians and Romans (they were defending themsekves, the Romans and Persians attacked first). Meaning how would making it up along the way lead the Arabs to becoming a superpower within 15 years of his lifetime.
Clearly at the minimum he is extraordinary and he bought a extraordinary book. Keep in mind he was a illiterate man. And the people followed him and respected him for his character and for being a messenger. We know all aspects of his life. if he was making it up along the way he surely wouldve had a objective right, what is it other than the message that he spread and took no material gain from. Any claim you'll make will crumble under scrutiny and compared to the life of the prophet. So you can't claim he made it up, frankly speaking

The Quran calls itself the best tafsir (explantion), wa-aḥsana tafsīran. Ayah 25:33. Many tafsir are based on Ahadith, which were later made into manuscripts and contradict the Quran many times. the Quran is sole guidance, in the sense that it is the only authority (not other sources) and divinely ordained religious source for believers. We should only uphold the Quran as the final divine testimony and authority for believers

I agree with what you said about Tafsirs,
It is like the interpreters want to program your mind as how they think the verse means and it completely destroys your independent mind from reading the pure text itself to understand what it clearly is talking about.
If God wanted us to read Tafsirs to understand the Holy Quran, He wouldn't have commanded us to Meditate on the Verses of the Book.
A person who read the Tafsirs, won't meditates on the Verses itself more than tafsir given, because they just borrow the ideo of another person who just wrote the tafsir.

Grayson, please stop saying mom and dad created you because they didn't. They couldn't even make a single body cell. If they could, they would have made you the most handsome man on this planet. The only thing they could do is to make an effort and hope to have a child without defining how you would look like. We only can hope and do an effort as much as we can do, but the result is only God can determine for sure.

You are just repeating what you hear from your imams. Your quran says otherwise. Allah says no one can change his words. He doesnt say no one can change the words in the quran, he said no one can change his words! If he revealed the torah and injeel and you claim its been corrupted then you are claiming that your allah lied and he can't be trusted. Also, you have multiple arabic qurans with different words that changes the meanings!

    "Nafs", means Soul/Self/Psychi ...
It is our soul/self/psychi which leads us to follow our desire and do evil, so God told them by Moses that They should kill their souls.

You definitely need to read the hadith and tafsir as well, for they reveal the true beliefs and interpretations of the Quran. The Quran specifically states that Muhammad is the example to follow (Sure Al-Ahzab, Verse 21) But all we know about Muhammad is found in the hadiths. Reading just the trusted(sahih) narratives already gives rise to many questions, like why was Muhammad granted specific privileges where he in terms of his own action broke the law (the 16 privileges) . On top of that there are many stories from his personal life that sound rather concerning than something one should imitate. In truth it almost seems to me as though twisting interpretaions, hiding truth and decieving is all acceptable as long as your converting someone to islam.

I feel so content when I submit to Allah. I embrace his commandments and because He alone knows what’s best for me.
And it’s a type of Heaven on earth because no matter what happens in life I’m always content!
I did feel a special connection at some point in my life, it’s called “The sweetness of Iman” and it made me feel extremely happy to the point I thought everyone around me was feeling the same way until I realized I was the only one feeling that way!
    It’s a special feeling when you’re a Muslim!
When I start to complain about things in life, I remember people that have less than me and praise Allah for everything, because we take everything for granted!
So YES! Contentment comes with submitting to Allah. 👈🏼 as prophet Jesus called Him.

There are multiple translations check them out. Sometimes the translations are not so literal to the Arabic verse. Past tense carries to the present time also not just the past. If that is not the case then the Quran won't be for all times. You are doing a great job studying this verse that even Muslims don't do. It is called "Tadabbur" to analyze and contemplate.

Also, the English translation of the Qur'an is not really an object of reverence as its mere translation of the meaning. The original Arabic is the one that all types of reverence and respect are due to it, as its the literal word of Allaah

Guys don't put overpressure on him , let him find his own way. If he's sincere, Allah will guide him definitely.
Reading Quran is the most important thing and you have to be grateful for that bcoz not all people get this chance .
Remember you can't understand the whole holy Quran, I'm an arab born a Muslim but still I don't understand the whole deepest meaning except the general idea .
But as you are progressing in faith _by being a Muslim and practicing, of course _ your comprehension to the holly Quran expands . On the contrary, Satan is always there is holding you back.
Pray alot and ask Allah to guide you to the true path .
    Also pray for him guys.
