VW Cabrio No Start Symptom? Check the Ignition Coil

- VW Cabriolet aka Cabrio had a No Start situation. It would crank but not start. The customer assumed a fuel pump because they "hit the gas" and it would start sometimes.
If you turn the key, crank it and go to turn the key off, sometimes you'll hear it sound as if its going to start at the last second. Thats a symptom of a bad ignition coil or a loose wire.
Always inspect the ignition coil for loose ground wires , wires, plugs, (which was the problem here) , check spark with a spark indicator, make sure to remove the coil and inspect for damage. Cracks, fractures, tighten everything down good etc.
This is a simple inspection that could save you money instead of going to a mechanic and risk being charged for a 5 minute repair or being scammed into something far worse

my cabrio has always started first crank. the only time it didn't - it was the coil.
I'm dealing with a crank no start and no spark I checked ignition wires no spark there I think all the ground wires seems like there well grounded. But I have to check the ignition coil module ground wire in the back.

Does the ground cable get sandwiched between the base of the new coil and the body of the car.
Or is the cable mounted onto the coil?

Do you any idea where the idle air control is on this model, my dad's having rough idle then stalls within a mile
In need of some help i got a 95 VW cabrio that's not giving me no spark is changed the ignition switch and coil I put in a brand new cam/crank sensor brand new distributor and starter and still nothing somebody help me please
Can you give me info I'm having an issue with my VW golf Cabrio it starts it runs but then in the middle of nowhere to cut off if I'm driving it it'll cut off I'll let it sit to start it back up and continue my ride
I'm having the same issue. Runs great for the first 5-10 miles then starts missing. I've changed every sensor, distributor cap and rotor. Throttle body. Thing is driving me nuts!
Same thing she won’t idle, you break at a red light and she cuts off. She cranks right back up until the next red light and she cuts off.
Now, the battery is good, but she won’t crank and the horn blows continuously like an alarm when you try to crank her!
Help !?😢
